say hello to our first-ever creative team.

We have put together our first-ever Project Life Creative Team – hooray! In the Products section you will now see a new tab for the Creative Team. This is where you can learn more about each team member and find links to their respective blogs, etc.

Why a Creative Team? Our products are designed to simplify the process of memory-keeping. They are quite self-explanatory and solution-based. However, most of us are “visual”. Once we see something in action, it all clicks. When we see someone else putting their pictures in the Photo Pocket Pages and writing on the Journaling Cards and adding their flair, we naturally become more motivated and inspired to do it our own way.

How did we go about choosing our team members? Since the beginning of Project Life, we have been aware of and very grateful for so many who have shared Project Life with their friends, on their blogs, in galleries and online forums, etc. For the past several months, we have been “watching” online activity to find a handful of Project Lifers whose work inspires us and others. We have a very strong belief that no one’s style is better than the next person’s. When it comes to preserving memories, there is no right or wrong.

Our goal with this Creative Team is to share a variety of styles that will inspire in different ways. A couple of our Creative Team members are very, very minimalist – using just the basics. A couple of them are quite creative with the use of product and often add lots of other products and embellishments and ephemera. And everyone else is somewhere in between. What they have in common is not only a love for using Project Life in their personal life, but they also have a knack for documenting life. They each have their own style of taking pictures and writing memories and this is the core of how we hope they inspire you.

How and when will we get to see their work? In the next month or two you will begin seeing layouts and projects from our Creative Team on a regular basis. We’ll share here on the blog and elsewhere on the website. Stay tuned.

Are we all set with our 2012 team? We feel really good about this group of Project Life artists, and we are so very pleased that they each accepted the invitation with enthusiasm. While we are quite comfortable with this team size, we are certainly open-minded about possibly adding another member or two. We realize that there is amazing inspiration out there, not necessarily shared all over the Internet. Should you feel strongly that you should share your layouts with us (or turn in your friend) … you are welcome to email a few pictures to submissions@beckyhiggins.com. I repeat: We’re not necessarily looking to make the Creative Team larger, but we just don’t want to shut that door and lock it when we know there could be someone else that would be a good fit to add balance + inspiration.

Moving forward. Speaking of being open-minded … as a young company, we’re constantly learning and growing and experimenting. This is our first time trying a Creative Team. We have no idea how this will go but we certainly are grateful for each of these ladies being so willing to share their personal layouts and projects. We sincerely hope that what they/we share will be nothing short of inspirational for you. We anticipate that they’ll carry on with this for 2012. We plan to revise + update the team members toward the end of each year, and keep this up year after year.

……….

{ PS }

Thank you again and again to so many of you who love sharing Project Life with others. We are grateful that it is a solution for you – an easy + enjoyable way to get pictures off the computer and out of drawers and into books that can be enjoyed. We have updated our Project Life button/graphic. Should you be interested in having this on your own blog, you are welcome to use it. You can snag it here. We are very grateful for the Project Life community, and for you.

Great idea, Becky! Can’t wait for some more inspiration from these great ladies!

  2. Gayle says:

Congratulations to the new team!! :)

Is it too late to make suggestions? Ali Edwards? I know her pages certainly inspire me :) it’s not easy to lay hands on Project Life supplies here in the UK but I’ve been inspired to try as best I can to incorporate elements into my scrapbooks because of Ali’s pages.

  3. scrappysue says:

Oooh what a super idea; I am such a visual person and love to see how others tackle PL! Looking forward to seeing what your Creative Team has done, and of course, many congrats to them!

  4. Marsaille says:

    Welcome Creative Team!

  5. Patti J. says:

Congratulations to your new team, Becky! This is a great idea, and it will be SO much fun to see these ladies creations! Best of luck to you!!!!

As a mom of grown children that live hours away, and no grandchildren, I’d love to see some ideas for this time of life. I’m retired, DH still works 6-7 days/week, so we don’t get to do too much in the way of making daily memories. Hopefully, you can help me figure out some ‘tricks’ to PL about!

    • Karen Imes says:

Hi Patti….I was just sharing the idea with a friend similar to your situation….I thought about this after thanksgiving last year when I kept asking my mom for her home made stuffing recipe and creamed asparagus soup recipe, etc. If you like to cook, that is….I thought about doing a picture of the item and a recipe (hand written by my mom would be great) then a step by step picture so that I can eventually give it to my daughter who will want the same recipes that I’m asking for of course! You could also use the book like a travel journal, not necessarily a picture a day format. Good luck and have fun!

  6. kristy says:

Yay- this will be my first year for PL and I am thrilled to watch your design teams blogs for motivation and inspiration!! If I don’t get my kit for christmas I am buying it myself!!

  7. Courtney says:

I’m SOOOOO excited about this!!!! I’m always looking for more PL inspiration and here it is on a platter! Now the only problem is I’ll be spending hours and hours pouring through each of their blogs/websites :)

  8. Cheryl says:

    Congratulations to you all!!!!

  9. Ellie A. says:

Oh I would totally if I could add a suggestion how about Lisa Truesdell-http://gluestickgirl.typepad.com She is BEYOND Amazing and truly has been inspiring me when I am a bit beyond on project Life I can go see what she is doing and it gets me going. LOVE HER! :)

  10. Michelle says:

This is awesome! I love it when you post links to other people’s PL ideas on FB.

And along the lines of what Patti J (above) had to say, here’s hoping that at least one of your Creative Team is single and/or doesn’t have kids. Doing PL without children or a partner is a whole different dynamic and I’d love to see that perspective represented!

Congrats to the Creative Team and cheers to you, Becky! I love Project Life! :)

  11. Jude says:

Congratulations to the creative team, I already recognise some of them from blogs that I stalk – looking forward to seeing all their work :)

One thing that I would LOVE to see is inspiration for PL using the forthcoming digital kits. I’m really excited about the PL concept and would love to see how people will be using the digital elements to make digital layouts and books.

  12. [...] organized her first Project Life team and I’m thrilled to be a part of it!  (Have you seen the rest of the team?  I was crossing [...]

  13. Lee Currie says:

I am just starting my first Project Life project and I’m thrilled that you have chosen so many of the women who influenced my decision. I’m so looking forward to the ideas from your creative team! Wonderful!

  14. Colleen says:

Love this idea! I know many of the online Project Lifers have certainly inspired me!!! Can’t wait!

  15. Tracy says:

I am so excited for all of this wonderful inspiration that will be flowing from a design team!!! I just got done adding all these talented gals to my favorites, so I can easily find them and see what they have created. YAY!!! I have all my goodies to start my first project life on January 1 of next year (except the binder, still waiting for that to be able to order)…. but one thing I was hoping to maybe get addressed, is if all these talented gals could tell what kind of printer they use at home? I have an iphone and would love to be able to print pictures right from that at home, but no idea what kind of printer I need to get. Of course, would like something that prints great quality pics… any advice???

I also, don’t have kids. (well, a 4-legged one if he counts) so I am also looking for tips on what to take everyday pics of.

Super excited to start, and hopefully these talented girls will fess up on what kind of printers they have and are the best.

    Congrats to the new team!!!

  16. jennifer says:

Hurray! I follow almost every single one of these talented ladies on their blogs. Congratulations to them and I can’t wait to see what they will be posting.

Another great idea Becky! Thanks for all that YOU do!

  17. Nathalie says:

Love this idea as well as the suggestions to incorporate a variety of lifestyles behind the faces of PL. As one of the people with little kids it’s always nice to get perspective on what people who don’t have kids are doing as well as people who’s kids are in different phases than mine! Gives me ideas on new things to include. I also love the new button!!!

  18. Deb Duty says:

In the past I’ve just ordered my prints online, but because I want to start including a lot of iPhone pics, I decided to get a printer and start printing at home. After a little research, I decided on the Epson Artisan 837 and I just ordered it. I read great things about the photo quality and it can print directly from a mobile phone. I’m not sure how that would work though. I plan on transferring photos to my computer so I can size them like I want and then printing from there.

As far as what to take pics of without kids, I have a lot of ideas! Your friends, self portraits, and I could go on and on about the world around you – what you ate for breakfast, take a pic of your cell phone (I would love if I had a pic of some of my old huge ones lol), your home, your favorite shoes, around your town, etc. I think it would be great to have a book that represents the little things that you are surrounded by on a daily basis. And of course the big things like vacations and birthdays and holidays too!

    • Tracy says:

Thanks for the heads up on printer. I know Michelle wooderson always said the canon selphy was wonderful, I have been looking for one of those forever but can’t find them. I currently have an HP 309, but struggle with photo size paper, for soem reason it won’t feed it, and I just thought about maybe going with something small that would get the job done without having to upload and stuff…. I’ll check into the epson though, would prefer compact, but with good quality.

I can’t wait to start “stalking” all you project lifers!!! LOL

      • Niki Estes says:

Tracy, I have an epson artisan 835 and an epson picturemate charm. They both print beautiful quality! The picturemate is a compact printer if that’s what you’re looking for. Hope that helps!

  19. Erika says:

So excited to see everyone’s work. Would love to see a couple members added who are strictly digi and/or hybrid to see what they do with the new Jessica Sprague Project Life components. Thank you for all you do to make documenting our lives fun and simple.

  20. Debbie says:

Congratulations ladies! What an inspiring group you all are!

  21. Great choice!!! All of these ladies are plastered all over my Pinterest boards for inspiration when I start next year!!! Congrats!!

  22. Mel H says:

So excited to see Mish Wooderson on the team….she’s one of my favorite crafters!

  23. Sara says:

    Becky,

Thank you for rounding up this talent group of ladies. Just when I think I can’t love you any more!!!! (you know, in a non-creepy kind of way!) Ok…I’m off to go blog stalking! :) Yay!

  24. Carina says:

ooohhh im so happy ! im a french girl & I feel the only here with my project life! So excited to discover that you are going to offer us !!!

  25. Christine says:

LOVE MaryAnn! Her YouTube videos showing her PL albums have been inspiring me since last year! Awesome.

  26. Congratulations to all the members of the Project Life Creative Team! It is so great to see a Canadian in there too – Way to go Marcy!

  27. Gypsy says:

The idea of a creative team is wonderful! I recognize some of the women; will have to check out each one’s blog. Just what I need – more blogs to follow!

  28. Gypsy says:

    ummm.. Becky….
May I make a suggestion? Please consider increasing the contrast between your text and background colors in some instances. For example, the states under the women’s names on this blog entry, and the text just below ‘Creative Team’ on the page found under the products tab. Maybe it’s my old eyes…..

    Thank you!

  29. Kristina in Oz says:

Hi ladies. This is briliant of all of you to help inspire us. Thank you. Yay What a fantastic idea. You never cease to amaze Becky. You must be so tired. I’m sure you’ll need a well earned holiday after Christmas or even before. Love so many of these ladies already now will just have to add a few more to my “Have To Read” blogs list. Can’t wait to get started next year. I’ll have to wake up earlier now just to catch up on everyone. Giddy with excitement.

  30. Marti Richards says:

    Congrats to these ladies.
I will say that Lisa Truesdall’s take on PL (http://gluestickgirl.typepad.com/) is the only reason why I will be doing PL in 2012. She has been a great source of inspiration and information!

  31. ShellyJ says:

Congrats ladies! :) Can’t wait to see what you ladies do for 2012! This will be my 4th year running with this project, and LOVE it!

  32. HOW AWESOME! I am going to rock my PL for 2012 (my first year) so I can hopefully be considered for a CT spot in the future. Now that I don’t want to wow my family with it but, being a PL CT member would be like icing on the cake!

Can’t wait to see the inspiration!

  33. Sabrina says:

What an amazing team you have created!! Congrats to these inspiring ladies!!

  34. Diana says:

Becky, if you do choose to add someone to your team, can you PLEASE consider someone who doesn’t have children, or maybe their children are grown. I really loved looking at all these ladies blogs, but its all about their kids! No offense, but I am sure I am not the only one who loves documenting my life (now with my husband), but the last few years, it was just me, and I still love scrapbooking it! I have friends and a life which I love to document. But I would love to see some ideas, that is not all about kids. Don’t forget about the single or no children people out there who buy your product. Thanks, Diana

    • Sarah Giles says:

Seconded. And how about someone outside of North America, too? Though your team are amazing, I’d love to see more global variety as well. :)

  35. Maria Gerber says:

great idea! There are so many talented people out there it would be an honor I’m sure to serve on your creative team for a year and then give others an opportunity to share.

  36. Pat says:

Congrats to the team. I look forward to being inspired by their take on this project.

I am somewhat disappointed, however, that you have only chosen families with moms, dads and kids. I am a firm believer that even a 50-something widow with no kids and a very small extended family can use Project Life to record her memories. I would have liked to see some diversity in your choice of the team to inspire others who by choice, design or divine intervention have a different life style.

  37. Denise says:

The one thing missing from this STELLAR team is a single female… Documenting alone. AKA- a solo person doing project life. I hear the statement all the time, “I live alone what do I have to document?” … I’m in that position and have LOVED the inspiration from these ladies. But I would love to see a single-person added.

  38. Denise says:

Wow. Sorry- didnt mean to repeat so many other people’s thoughts! (But glad I’m not alone in my thinking).

  39. Debra E says:

I’d like to add my voice to those requesting diversity. I’m a single woman with no children who LOVES Project Life. I’d like to see more that’s not all kid/family oriented.

  40. odessa enox-whitaker says:

    oh, a party.

  41. This is awesome super congrats to you all. I was not going to do PL until i read Lisa Truesdale’s post on it last week http://gluestickgirl.typepad.com/ and let me tell you she has changed how i looked at it and now i’m super excited to be doing it in 2012, i have ordered my page sleeves and have asked Santa for the rest and i kid you not when i say i can’t think of anything else lol i just can’t wait to get stuck in and i am even organizing a PL station in my scrap room lol. If you need a newbie on board then count me in lol, no but seriously you should consider Lisa for the team as i know plenty of woman that are joining PL after reading her post last week. Thanks again for a super new project to get stuck into

  42. Mrs. V says:

What a great idea – I am excited for this extra layer of support as I start out with my first year of Project Life in 2012. So far I have absolutely loved seeing Ali Edwards’ post. I learned about Project Life because of her blog.

    Thanks!

  43. Project Life just keeps getting better and better! ;)

  44. Anita says:

Becky, are you really Santa? Cause it feels like it. I fell in love with PL through watching Ali Edwards and now this wonderful team will bring even more inspiration. Thank you so much. Anita from Australia

  45. Lindsay says:

Wow! Great inspiration here! Some of the ladies I was familiar with others were new to me. So much fun to see some creative ideas for Project Life!

  46. Lorie Bermingham says:

I really like the gluestickgirl blog and would like to recommend looking at her stuff — I have just started following her blog and seeing at how she approaches her Project Life project (along with Ali Edwards, Liz Tamanaha, and Monica McNeill). I think this will be a great resource for us Project Life people. I always love looking at how other people approach this project. I think you guys should look at more digital approaches (not just the book formats), journaling and decorative cards that we can print at home, alter, and put in our albums (kind of like Liz).

  47. Ursula says:

So excited to see this development! I’d also like to suggest Lisa Truesdell.

I’d also like to add that it would be really nice to see someone with an empty nest be a part of the team. As a mom to two teenagers who are almost out the door, its sometimes difficult to envision how to put this type of project together.

  48. lindsay says:

i was surprised to not see lisa truesdell on the list.

  49. Hi Becky. I think its great you are having a creative team. I am looking forward to getting stuck into Project Life again next year having taken this year off, and I was already looking forward to watching Ali to see what she did with hers next year as I have loved what she has done with her this years. I have also really loved what Marcy has been doing, so I think its great she is on the team. But I have to say, and I know its been said a lot, but I am another who wants to put my hand up for Lisa. I just love what she has been doing. She also has boys which would round out the team with some more boys :o ) which would be great for me. I’m so looking forward to next year to getting started!!

  50. Wendy Galanty says:

WOO HOO! Love this! I found MaryAnn and Michelle’s blogs just recently and LOVE what they both do with their PL. So glad to see them on the team! I will be checking out the other ladies blogs too, to get more great ides. I also LOVE Ali Edwards PL. I’ve changed how I did mine quite a bit because of Ali, she is awesome:) Thanks so much Becky! U ROCK!!!

  51. Kathy C. says:

What a spectacular lineup on your Creative Team. I am familiar with some of the ladies already from their blogs. I visit their blogs regularly for Project Life inspiration. I am a huge fan of project life and have been keeping up since you first introduced us to this wonderful way of memory keeping. There is someone who you may have missed that I just had to mention. I think she has an amazing gift when it comes to her project life. That would be Lisa Truesdell. http://www.gluestickgirl.typepad.com She wrote a very informative post on her blog Nov.7/11 outlining her process. You must check it out. Thanks for all you do to for those of us who understand memory keeping.

  52. Sabrina L says:

Great team! The only one I am really familiar with from this group is Marcy…I love the simplicity of her pages…they always look so well styled without me feeling like a need a degree in paper and glue!

  53. Fatima says:

YAY Marcy!!! how exciting. Becky you have great taste my lady!

  54. Mimi says:

How exciting for this group of ladies! I’ll be looking forward to seeing their creations.
I’d also like to suggest you look at Lisa T’s work. She has shown true originality and has inspired a lot of us to try Project Life.

  55. Robyn says:

I have to admit I was really surprised and disappointed not to see Lisa T. on the team. She adds so much inspiration and originality to PL.

  56. [...] are so pleased to announce that Ali Edwards + Loni Stevens are now a part of our 2012 Creative Team! We are thrilled that they’re both on-board with regularly sharing their Project Life pages [...]
