12 Videos of Christmas: No. 11

I love pictures. It seems obvious to say, but really – I love pictures. And I love the memories associated with pictures. And I love the connections we make with pictures.

I wanted to share this video because I’ve been thinking a lot about how documenting everyday life is something that many of us are trying to be good about these days but I bet as many of us look back – it’s something we’ve been doing – or our parents have been doing – for a long time. Here’s a look at just a few of the connections that I have personally made between pictures from the past and now.

A very special thank-you to our good friend Zachary Baird who wrote this song specifically for the Project Life message I want to share, which is – Cultivate a good life and record it. Document the everyday. Find the blessings in your life and embrace them.

…..

I do have one more video to share for my 12 Videos of Christmas series, but that will come after Christmas. In the meantime, may we all be able to enjoy a little extra time with those we love the most. May we focus on what really matters and set other stuff aside. Please know that we appreciate you so much for being a part of our life. Everything that we do with Project Life is so much more than a business. It is an amazing experience to connect with so many of you through this love of documenting life. Thank you for being a blessing to us, and more importantly – for being a blessing to your family and friends and communities.

Merry Christmas.

That’s what I love so much about photos, that connection to the past, the same simple things, generations apart. I wonder what my grandkids (not even close to having grandkids yet my boys are still teenagers) will think of the photos they will see from our project life 2011 :)

Merry Christmas to you and your family xx

What a beautiful video and song. I was hoping we’d hear more of Zachary again this year! What a blessing for you to come from a line of life documenters/memory keepers. That is something that unfortunately my parents didn’t do, but hopefully I will be able to pass onto my kids. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Merry Christmas Becky. I loved the video. Thank you for what you do, you really keep me inspired. My 3 kids are very close in age, and I totally fell off the “scrapbooking bandwagon” several years ago after the 3rd was born. The past year or so I’ve been watching your blog and I’m ready to pick up and get back into documenting more. It probably won’t look the same as it did before, which is a relief for a busy mama – thank you for showing us an easier way :) .

This was beautiful and amazing, just like you!! How fun it is to capture these little moments in our lives now, thank you for that. One of my favorite things to do is look back at past photos and see the growth in our family over the years. Now that mine are teens it really makes those baby years more precious to me.

Looking forward to PL 2012 which is already set up and ready for me!! My mom gave me the sweetest gift of all this year. While cleaning out her attic to move she found boxes an boxes of my old school papers, Congrats cards on my birth, the billing papers from my birth, the receipt from my cradle, notes that I wrote her, all my bday cards up till I was 4 and even more precious things from my past. I was in tears over this and can’t wait to go thru them more and decide on what to do with them. SOOOOO very happy she kept them and their in great condition after 42 years.

Hope you enjoyed Christmas with your family and was filled with magic and love. Thanks again for all you and David and your team does for us, truly a blessing having PL in my life.

  37. Lisa Achilles says:

That was beautiful. You are so fortunate to have photos from your childhood. I don’t have that many. Maybe that’s why I overcompensate with my kids. Thank you for always inspiring us to remember what matters most.

  38. Marcie L says:

Wow that is beautiful. Everything about it. Thank you for creating and sharing with us.
