Many of you are making preparations to begin a new Project Life album for 2012 – or at least you’re thinking about it. Even if you’re taking a non-chronological approach and creating an album with your childhood pictures, your wedding, travels, or whatever … every album begins with a title page.
If you don’t want to have to think about “designing” a title page, we’ve got you covered. Every Project Life Core Kit includes all the designer 4×6 and 3×4 cards you need to drop in the pockets and that’s all you need to do.
{ From the Clementine Edition }
In fact – you’ll notice that we even printed a little “map” on the back of those specific cards (title page and last page) so you can see a suggested placement idea, leaving out all the guesswork. It doesn’t get simpler than that.
However …
I know many of you want to do something more personal, more specific, more custom. So today I’m sharing some title page inspiration from our very own Creative Team. Some of them even implemented additional products from their stash of supplies, resulting in a perfectly customized style that is unique to their album.

Cathy will be the first to tell you, like many of us, that she is crazy about the 6×12 Page Protectors and wanted this to be the opening page to her 2012 album. She designed this 6×12 title page and … guess what? She is graciously sharing the template with my readers for FREE … in case you’re feeling inspired to do something similar. Obviously using a favorite coordinating Project Life digital paper would be awesome and you could customize it however you’d like.

In fact, here is the link to the free font Cathy used in the PSD files: Museo Slab 500.

A few quick examples using the templates + digital Project Life papers:
{ Left page use a paper from the digital Amber Collection + the CK Becky font. Link to this free font is at the very bottom of the Free Stuff sidebar. Center + right pages use papers from the digital Cobalt Collection }
FYI: There are two other products Cathy released, also with 6 x 12 page protectors in mind. One for weekly recap journaling that needs more space. One for photo collages. Click on either one of those links to see more or purchase.
……
One last idea, and this comes from a reader (I’m sorry I don’t have her name but be sure to claim this idea in the comments if you were the one that shared it). She says: I have an idea I’m planning on using for my next Project Life title page. Take a photo of the front of your family home in each season – winter with snow on the ground, spring as it greens up and everything is blooming, summer (for us the last couple years, that means sunburned grass!), and fall with leaves turning colors. Take it from the same spot each time and it is a great representation of how different your house looks over the course of a year.

Hi Becky,
This morning I received my clementine core kit and opened it with my seven year old daughter who lifted up the lid and said “hmm, this smells so good” and then said to her five year old sister “smell this, it’s sooo good.” How cute is that!!! Love project life and so do my girls’!
I am so behind on printing for my PL 2011. I feel horrible. I started out so well too.
So am I, Misty. I’m trying to catch up this week so I can start 2012.
Cathy you rock, thanks so much
Becky thank you for all the ideas for the title page, I took all mine out last night to try and start putting it together and ended up putting everything back LOL. Now I have a starting point. I am going to love doing this
LOVE THIS POST!
Because I use PL not as a P365 but as a way to simply do my kid’s albums, I know one kit is going to last for a couple of albums. I now have some great ideas to start her next album! Thank you!
This is WONDERFUL. Putting your creative team together was a fabulous idea, thanks so much, you’ve taken even more of the “hard work” out of scrapbooking!!!
x
Love, love, love!!! Such great ideas.
I have a sneaking suspicion my kit is hiding in the garage, waiting for hubby to wrap up… Eeeee can’t wait!
Hi. Such wonderful inspiration!!
I wanted to also share my title page that I just recently blogged about.
Thank you!

lovely – your title pages look fab- great idea to use your unused photos!
THANK YOU so much!!
Do you have any ideas to share for the digital project life title page in Ziblio? Thanks.
I love seeing how everyone personalized the cover pages! I stayed true to the suggested set-up BUT on the first two-page spread I featured each family member and wrote a little something about where they were at in life and expected upcoming major events and milestones that each was looking forward to in the current year. Trying to decide if I want to do a year end summary for this album or just roll right into the next one. One thing is sure: I’m totally going to print out Cathy Z’s 6 x 12 page! I love it!
Thanks! These are great!
I remember the comment about photographing your house in each season because I replied that I have a photo for each season of a local tree.
Hey Becky–this is a great post. My title set-up is similar to Jennifer Woodbury’s album and it is also two volumes. Just wondering how people break it up. I’m guessing there’s a similar title page in volume 2. How does volume 1 end? I know Ali’s is two volumes also. Could this be a follow up post?
Crystal – I will have 3 volumes by the end of the year. Here is a picture of my closing page of Vol 1. http://withoutfilters.blogspot.com/2011/11/exciting-announcement.html Basically I have 4 months in each album. I haven’t created my opening page for Vol 2 or 3 yet but I think I’m going to do something that continues the closing page of # of days.
Thanks for the ideas for the title page! Love the creative team and I look forward to seeing what they have to share throughout the year!!!!!!
Loved seeing all the different styles and Cathy … you are just the best ! Thanks so much !!!
I would love to know how do you print from your printer directly on the cards.
thanks
I would love to know how to print directly from printer to card,
thanks
Thank you, thank you Cathy Z.! Great post, Becky. So love the creative takes on simplicity. Cannot wait!!
So many great ideas! I have mine set up with the suggested cards, but I am thinking that I will swap out for some family pictures, as it really added a nice touch. Now I will just need to decide which balance I want, as I enjoyed many of the examples – decisions, decisions.
Love, love, LOVE the “a walk in my shoes” title page. So much that I’m stealing it. Er…I mean BORROWING the idea. Inspirational!
Love this! Thanks Cathy for the freebie. Can’t wait to get started on 2012…”tracking info” says it has reached my state…like an 1-1/2 hours away. Can’t we just go pick it up? LOL! Oh well, gives me time to keep getting 2011 up-to-date.
LOVE the pic of your home each season idea. Jotting it down in my PL2012 Idea notebook.
