Sounds simple, right? As we all know, setting goals is the easy part. Achieving them? Not always so easy. That’s why I’m happy to share with you this online workshop – How to Achieve Your Goals and Create a Life You Love!
If you are here on my blog, then it’s likely that you share my passion for cultivating a good life, and so do my friends at simplify 101! That’s why I am so excited about today’s giveaway. One of my blog readers will win a spot in this online workshop, taught by professional organizer Aby Garvey, co-author of The Organized & Inspired Scrapbooker. She gives you the foundation, ideas and inspiration you need to dream about a life you love and take steps to make it happen!
In this four-lesson, five-week workshop, you will:
- Learn how to dream. As crazy as this may sound, many of us have forgotten how to dream! Faced with the realities of the “real world” dreaming about what we truly want is becoming a lost art. In this workshop you’ll learn how to free yourself from anything that’s holding you back from allowing yourself to dream, which is the first step in creating a life you love.
- Learn how to turn your dreams into goals. Find out how to create an effective goal statement for all the key areas of your life. Plus, learn how to make your goal statements super compelling so you can’t help but take action on them!
- Learn how to make it happen! Find out how to turn your goals into simple action steps and begin taking action on your goals during the workshop. With the support and encouragement of your instructor and the workshop’s online community, you’ll be well on your way to creating a life you love before the workshop ends.
- Learn how to track your progress and celebrate your achievements. Monitoring your progress and celebrating your victories are keys to making goal-setting and accomplishment of those goals a habitual part of your life.
- Learn on your time schedule in a format that works for you. Class materials are presented online, via a printable PDF document, and via audio files you can listen to on your computer or MP3 player. Select the method (or methods) that work best for you!
- Get the support you need to succeed! Up through the workshop end date, you’ll have direct access to me via the private workshop forum. Plus, you’ll get inspiration and support from your classmates via the private online community and photo gallery for up to one year!
- Stay connected! NEW in this session of How to Achieve Your Goals and Create a Life You Love, you will have ongoing, exclusive access to the simplify 101 online community.
- Have fun! This workshop includes bonus, creative organizing project downloads, with colorful, step-by-step instructions. These optional projects give you hands-on projects that make it even more fun to take action on the workshop concepts and make them part of your daily life.
Aby only runs this workshop once a year and the 2012 session begins tomorrow – Thursday January 5, and one of my lucky readers gets a free spot! Wow, is this list of ideas speaking to me- have lost some (ok, more than some) control over some pieces fo my life- and my craft room is so messy I haven’t been able to find a starting point to clean it up and get in there to create. Not only is that sad for me ( since creating makes me feel calmer and happier) but I am setting a bad example for my 2 daughters. That makes me sadder still.
My name is Jeanne, I live in Chesapeake, VA and organizing and getting rid of clutter is my goal for 2012. I need help. Bad.

One of my goals for this year is to be no more than one month behind in my son’s scrapbook. I am trying to go back and catch up his first year now, and it is amazing to me how fuzzy the memories have gotten already (even with a book of “notes”) as I try to journal and document that amazing time of his life. So by the end of this month, 2011 will be done! And then I have promised myself that I will have January done by the end of February and so on. Wish me luck!

Karen

Hi, Joan here in Norfolk, Va! This year I intend and WILL jump off the hamster wheel of our reactionary “drop and run” lifestyle. My hubby and I are planning several very deliberate initiatives to focus ourselves on what we really want, setting goals to get there and following the plan! Simplifying how we spend our time is key! Happy new year!
My name is Jude and I live in Perth, Australia. My goal this year is to think ‘down-size.’ It’s my own little one word (thanks Ali) mantra for trying to get moderation back in everything. I want to down size my workload/stress at school (I am a teacher) by re-focusing on my class (the lovely bit of my job) and not taking on whole school projects. I want to downsize my eating – smaller portions = smaller bottom! I want to down size shopping therefore use of credit card! I want to downsize time on the couch therefore increasing active time. I want to downsize the ‘no’ answers I give my own family = which I usually follow with an excuse such as ‘too tired,’ ‘had a busy day’ or ‘I need to do…paperwork/laundry/make a call/etc.’
By setting this broad goal I want to get back to important things; my family, health, students, finances in order.
J

It’s kind of funny that this is the class and giveaway being offered right now. I have been feeling like I need to set some goals and have something to work towards, but I am not sure what to do or where to start! I have so many things I want to do I don’t even know where to begin. It’s sad really because I used to have goals and love making them and reaching them. Now, as a mother of 2, I just feel that my goals aren’t very important and that I can’t ever reach them because of the many more important things I do every day.

My goal and word for 2012 is SIMPLIFY. That is what I want in my life right now. This includes, but not limited to, documenting memories (using Project Life for the first time this year!), financials (i.e. getting rid of credit cards that I don’t use), family life (focus on family quality time and not where we are actually going for vacations), purchases (do I really need yet another bag?).

My main focus or goal this year, is to REALLY focus, search, ponder, and realize everything that I have to be grateful for. In the past year (s), I have had trials (as we all do), and now looking back I am realizing I wasn’t looking at everything I had to be grateful for during those times…and I am dissappointed in myself…so looking forward, I want to be more active in being aware of everything I have to be grateful for!
My goal this year is to go through all of my pictures, I have coolers – yes coolers full of 46 years of pictures – pictures of my life – - and iit’s time to get my life under control – - is it any wonder I bought so many project life bundles (and actually bought one for a gift, but I kept it myself – shhh) as well as online books – - 46 years – WOW! What an awesome life I will be going back to.

One of my goals this year is to not stress over what I can’t control.
My goal is to get my life organized, I just had a baby two months ago along with my very busy two year old. My husband works nights and I am starting school Monday! Can we say busy? Through all this though I want to start the tradition of making a project life book every year for my boys so that they can have all the memories with them in a book forever. I never got that as a child and I wish I would have.

There are lots of activities I’d like to complete this year, but my one goal is to be “present.” I am far too frequently in one place, but thinking or doing something else. For instance, working on the lap top while my favorite tv show is on or hanging out with my husband, but playing on my iPhone. I just want to slow down enough to focus on one thing at a time and I don’t particularly care what the one thing is.
Jenni H. in Olathe, KS
One of my goals for this year is to organize my house. It feels like my house is overflowing with stuff and I know that buying more stuff to contain my current stuff is not the solution I want. I need to sit down and go through all the stuff to get rid of the stuff we don’t want and make it easier to find the stuff we do want. Easier said than done though.

I really need to get organized with my paperwork and I have said this for many years. This needs to be the year! In 2010 I had an accident and required surgery, after that and the recovery and barely making it at work I was falling more and more behind. Than 5 months later my mom died dealing with her estate from another state has been challenging and I have suitcases of her paperwork that I have brought home. Than I had a second surgery so and some natural disasters in 2011 so I am with boxes of chaos. If I got all this sorted it would make me so happy and less stressed to actually achieve other goals of mine and work towards that life I want!
