I was recently part of a wonderful discussion on The Digi Show and that episode is now live today. Go HERE to listen.
For those of you who don’t consider yourselves “digi” … wait. This episode actually has a whole lot more than digital chit-chat. In fact, Steph (the host + the mastermind behind The Daily Digi + and huge influence in convincing us to take Project Life to the digital world) … asked me to share how Project Life came about. I actually talked quite a bit about that experience, as well as the story of how I even got into scrapbooking in the first place. It was really fun to be able to tap into my memory and recall so much from the past, and share pieces of my evolution and the process it has been to make a little idea become … a little bigger. At the end of the show I even share my “pick” which is something really fun for the life-documenter in each of us.
Side note: If you missed it, Steph wrote an incredibly insightful and inspiring blog post about how Project Life fits into her crazy-busy life and what her work-flow looks like. You can check that out HERE.

I never comment here, but I have to add a very firm nod of agreement to what Steph said! I plan on using PL to record things our family does every year (a few trips to the same place every year, holidays, etc.) that I REALLY want to remember, but don’t want to create a whole layout for each year. I’m SO excited to add it to my regular scrapbooking!!!!
It was so fun to visit with you on the show Becky and to hear the story of Project Life’s evolution! Very inspiring
Hi Becky -
Since the subject is Digi, just wanted to tell you I signed onto Shutterfly today and started my 2012 PL book (Clemetine, but love BOTH). In less than a hour I have almost all of Jan DONE! I’m not doing 365. Just taking pictures of what I love and going month by month. I want to sincerely THANK YOU for working with Shutterfly to make this happen. I did a 365 Project for a couple of years in a row all digital, and although I loved the results, only made it half way throught the year each time. With a three children and a full time job it just didn’t work for me. I tried your PL album/paper product last year and couldn’t find time to print, journal, etc… Love the look and the product and intend to go back and use that album for old photos that are still in shoeboxes! I KNOW I will be able to keep up with the Shutterfly digital version. So excited at how easy it is to customize, or just pop in your pics and use the fabulous templates that are there. From the bottom of my heart, thanks for helping this busy Mom make time for documenting life.

Thank you for sharing that. I really enjoyed listening to your journey and how it all came to be. Very interesting! I’m a bit like u in my passion for things … In fact, everyone’s asking if I get a commission for converting people to Becky Higgins products because I’m so passionate about people ‘seeing the lught’ and getting some of this great stuff to tell their story!
So excited that Shutterfly will soon offer the grid format similar to page protector A and the old Ziblio format!! As much as I am getting used to Shutterfly, I am having to do alot of adjustments to get journaling added and to fit it in.
I also wanted to say I just received my 2011 digital book from Ziblio and I LOVE IT!!! My kids LOVE IT!! I did a photo a day, everyday, didn’t miss. It’s simply amazing. Thank you.
Listened to this digital chat & was so intrigued by the Lytro. Found a review here:

More articles are there also. It is so cool!
It was fun listening to you on the show. Loved hearing more details about how you got into the scrpabooking and the industry and the evolution of PL. Thanks for being such an inspiration! I’m grateful for you!
I did Project Life in 2011 and it was just amazing. It was simple, fun, and I just love to look through my albums. I just posted on my blog about it, I would love if you could check it out. It is an old PL kit, I live in Brazil and it takes a looong time for stuff like these to arrive, specially because Amazon does not ship it here. http://scrapbyde.blogspot.com/2012/01/project-life.html
Fun interview Becky. I do have a question for you. My I ask who the “artist” is that sings “Somewhere over the Rainbow” on your video (Oct 2011)??? Just wondered
Becky – thanks so much for sharing the link with us! And since you mentioned it in the video, I just have to ask
…is there any time frame on the video for organizing the childhood/school items? I am anxious to get started on this project, because I feel like I keep falling further behind. I would love to see any ideas on how to begin tackling it…even if it is just getting it ready for the products coming out later. Thanks so much!
