now … where were we?

All good things must come to an end. Spring Break was so good. Family time. That’s what it was all about. Just the 5 of us traveling and hanging out together – exploring, learning, SLEEPING (we had plenty of catching up to do). No phone calls, no email or snail mail, no work or homework, no texting or social media or deadlines or alarm clocks or errands.

And just my little iPhone to capture the memories. Oh, how I love that we have evolved to a place where I don’t need to carry around my dSLR everywhere. (Photos edited right on my iPhone with the Camera+ app).

Just off the coast of Florida.

Everglades in Florida.

…..

Friends, indeed this “good thing” (being off the grid) has come to an end – but – we are right back into the groove and heading into the NEXT good things.

Now … where were we? What are we facing? Normalcy + everyday life back at home. Such a blessing. And part of that is work. We are right back into the swing of exciting stuff here at Becky Higgins LLC. New products are in the making. More cool stuff for the website. Regular sharing on facebook + twitter + my blog again. Plenty of good stuff on the way.

It was good to disappear for a week. And … it’s good to be back.

      Hi Michelle
I hope you don’t mind me jumping in here. Just saw your comment and had to say that your goal is so do-able :) It’s great you have discovered Project Life because that’s exactly what you need. I just want to encourage you in this…
I have been unable to scrapbook for years and have just been able to get Project Life this year and am excited how achievable it is to get lots of pics in albums fast with this system. If you can get your pictures printed and your products purchased asap then the hardest part I have found is trying to remember what my pictures were about (!) and the order to insert them in the albums. If you can organise your pics even now, before your PL products arrive, then when you have all your stuff together it will just be a matter of slotting them into your binder. And it is so wonderfully exciting to have your pictures in albums and not in a box!!!
A little time saver tip I have found…one other hiccup I found with my personal approach to using PL is that trying to work out which pocket pages to use stresses me out and wastes so much of my time. Lots of people get around this by just choosing to include their horizontal pics in their album but I like to include all my fav pics and it is often not the perfect match of vertical and horizontal pictures to suit the plastic pocket pages. SO, for me, I have found it most productive to stick to the original pocket pages ( 4 horizontal pockets with 4 small vertical across the middle) and then I use a program like Picasa (free download) to work with my vertical pics. What I do is open up 2 vertical pics at a time, make a “collage” with them ( basically just means I can make them side by side in smaller size to make one regular, horizontal sized picture) then I print them off with the other pictures. That way I can slot them into a horizontal pocket like a regular picture, or chop them down the centre and slide them into the smaller vertical pockets. If this makes no sense at all and you want more info please say so and I will try explain a little clearer lol.
All the best with your poject, sounds really special for your daughter :)

I wish I had known you were coming to my part of town :( I live really close to the Everglades. We had great weather here last week :) Hope you enjoyed your much needed time with your family Becky!! Glad to see you’re back. I am soooo loving my Project Life 2012 album. I’ve been posting videos on YouTube every few weeks (Friday I will post my Weeks 7-11) and sharing little ideas here and there ♥ I emailed your crew once about maybe considering a BH December Daily Edition. Do you think that’s a possibility? I made one last year and I LOVED it!! A BH Edition would TOTALLY ROCK!! Big hugs, T

Great pics. We missed you and we’re glad you had a good time with family. However, we’re glad you’re back too!

  19. Wendy says:

Welcome back! Curious if you had any regrets not taking your dSLR camera with you? We are heading to Mexico this summer for a 10 day family vacation and I can’t imagine leaving mine behind. I take everyday family photos for PL and a Vacation Photo Book, nothing professional, but wouldn’t want to miss out on action shots, indoor low lighting picts and beautiful beach photos. My son has an iPhone but I haven’t played around with taking any pix on it. Any thoughts or advice?

  20. Catherine says:

Glad to have you back! Sounds like an awesome trip!

  21. Laura Kennedy says:
