I remember you blogged that you bought some Williams-Sonoma kitchen towels a couple years ago. How are those holding up?
Hands down, these are my favorite kitchen towels that we’ve ever had. I am so pleased with the towels, and they’re holding up beautifully.
…..
What is your opinion of the Nikon 1 J1 Camera?
Honestly, I’ve never heard of that one. I like the Nikon D90 that we’ve had for the past few years and am not currently in the market for another one, so I’m pretty clueless about the latest & greatest dSLR models. But have you checked out dpreview.com? Anyone in the market for a new camera should check out this review site.
…..
How did you choose the new designs of Photo Pocket Pages and Page Protectors? Like, were they what you needed as you put together your kids’ scrapbooks?
The whole Project Life concept came about because I had a problem and I wanted to create a system that would solve the problem. So – yes, many product ideas come from my personal experience and my desire to bring out the practical side of an otherwise “creative” hobby. But this is just one factor. Another key element that plays into our decision for what products to make? Your voice. Your feedback. Your suggestions.
…..
Do you think you will keep designing page protectors and coming up with new designs like you used to come up with new sketches?
It’s pretty much looking that way, isn’t it? Interesting for you to bring that up. In my season of sharing sketches, I really was trying to take the guesswork out of scrapbooking. That’s why people loved them. Funny how things have evolved. Now I look at sketches and think – If that is made of actual pockets, THEN we’re really solving the problem! What’s easier than slipping pictures into pockets? Pretty much nothing. Easiest scrapbooking ever. So – yes. We will continue to grow our line of plastics because they are creating solutions. Mine and yours.
…..
Are you doing the 12×12 or 8.5×11 inch size for your family’s albums? Is the physical Project Life binder 12×12 in size?
Yes, the Project Life Binder is the classic, standard 12×12 size. I’ve done a lot of 8.5×11 albums, then transitioned to 12×12 in 2001. Now, with 43 volumes of these albums in our home (ouch), I do 8.5×11 Project Life photo books on Shutterfly for our family memories. I am carrying on with the 12×12 size for the kids’ individuals albums. I show & talk about this in the very beginning of my video featured here.
…..
Do you ever show your own pages?
I sprinkle my personal pages in once in a blue moon, but no – not very often. I’ve been in this industry for 16 years. I have shared plenty. But I have become much more protective of our personal memories, stories, pictures as we’re raising our little family. That is the only reason I don’t share more often, and why I am very strategic in what I do share from our personal scrapbooks.
…..
I was wondering what you do with photos that others send you, like family? My family will periodically send me few photos of their vacation or other events. I’m never sure what to do with them in Project Life. The images aren’t part of our story, but I still like it when they send them. Thoughts or ideas?
I really had to think about this one for a minute, because I can’t remember the last time someone randomly sent me a physical print. So much is shared electronically these days. If you like to hang on to the pictures sent your way, it seems easy enough to just slip them into Photo Pocket Pages and perhaps, since they don’t really “go” with your own life story, you could put that page (or those pages) at the very end of the album.
I’ll share another thought with you. A couple years ago I came across many years’ worth of Christmas cards that I had collected. I had an epiphany that I am not the keeper of other people’s memories. That doesn’t have to be my responsibility. I’m recording my own family’s story and that is plenty. Why was I hanging on to all these Christmas card pictures when we honestly never even went back and looked at them? I love our family & friends, but I tossed those pictures with no regret. In fact, I felt like a weight was lifted with that simple decision. Just something to consider. Perhaps you have a few recent photos on your fridge for a few months or a year, but eventually – it’s okay to toss the pictures that aren’t super significant.
The significant and sentimental pictures? Absolutely you should keep those.
…..
I am looking for ways to document my pregnancy on weekly basis. Ideas would be greatly appreciated!
You could certainly use any edition of Project Life if you wanted. They are theme-less and versatile for so many topics. Your life is your life – married or single, pregnant or not, working or at home. Just photograph the little details of your journey – no matter what it looks like.
Speaking of babies and those who want to do a baby album … well, let’s put it this way: I pretty much haven’t done much with Crew’s baby album. He’s three. And I’m pretty much not going to do it until our Project Life: Baby Edition products come out. Because they’re going to make my life soooo much easier and his album will look completely amazing. I’m unbelievably stoked about what we’ve been cooking up for you guys. I don’t have a release date yet, but at least you know the wait won’t be years since we’ve already been working on it. ; )
…..
For your kids’ personal books, the way I take it from reading your blog, you combine personal activities and school stuff in the same book. How do you separate? Do you have a “school section” by grade or is it all just chronological and mixed in with the personal stuff? What do you do– what works for you?
You should absolutely do what works best and makes the most sense for your situation. Since you asked about my system, I am all about telling the LIFE story. School is not a separate thing in my children’s lives. School is an integral part in their story, and who they are – just as much as other activities, sports, friends, extended family, travel, hobbies, and mundane stuff at home. So for me? I tell my kids’ story chronologically by year. I am not concerned about the order of pictures and pages and stories within that year. But if I want to know all about my child when they were in, say first grade? I can quickly identify that section (thanks to the Scrapbook Dividers – one of my absolute favorite products that I think every scrapbooker should have) … and enjoy the pictures & memories from that time in their life.
…..
What do you do with all of the photos that don’t make it into the album?
I don’t print pictures that I’m not going to put into an album or a frame or use in a project. So all the pictures I don’t use are in the same place that most of you store your pictures: On the computer (and of course backed up). I refer to them often, share them electronically, work them into an iMovie, etc.
…..
I’m wondering if you have any advice on how to catch up when you’re behind on Project Life! Has anyone addressed this?
It sounds to me that you’re locking yourself into an expectation that you will document the year with a picture every day, or a layout every week. Do not make this more complicated than it needs to be. It doesn’t need to be hard. In fact, Project Life is designed to SIMPLIFY the process of memory-keeping. So if you’re getting stressed about “keeping up” … get that phrase out of your mind. It’s not about keeping up. It’s about having a convenient place to slip your photos and memories into a book – no matter when or how often.
Now. Raise your hand if you’re thinking, “But that’s not like me. I have to stay on-track with my goals to document life they way I started this thing.” Truth be told, that’s totally my personality type. All or nothing, right? So let’s be real. If you really, really, really have to follow your own rules, then this is what I suggest: Let’s say you want to keep up with a picture-a-day. Very ambitious, but certainly rewarding. I did that a few years in a row and am not much more relaxed about that in 2012. I use a handful of pictures per week but it’s certainly not a picture for each day.
But anyway – to “catch up” on a couple weeks worth, simply walk around your house with the camera. Take pictures of the little details of everyday life until you have enough pictures to fill in your gaps. That’s it. Take pictures of things that were the same a couple weeks ago, like where you store your makeup or the kitchen sink full of dishes, or what’s on your iPod, your pet’s favorite place to chill, or whatever.
Need inspiration? We have a whole list worth of great ideas to get the wheels in your head turning!
…..
Becky I know you are working on your new school products but could we have a little idea of what it is? Is the school kit like Project Life with a school theme or something completely different? I know you have said that it will be out this year. Does that mean next couple of months? Summer? Fall? Christmas??? A ball park idea would be wonderful! Thanks for all you do!
Short answer: Summer 2012 (that means Winter for those of you in the Southern Hemisphere). This is what I can tell you right now: The childhood/school products that we’ve been working on will help you tremendously in documenting ALL of childhood. Not just school. The designs are remarkably awesome. I am itching to put this stuff to good use in my kids’ books – and even my own childhood stuff – and David’s. I want so badly to share the details of these products but it’s a little premature. The good news is that it won’t be long before I can share more and you’ll be totally clear on what to expect. Get excited.
…..
I have a scrapbook room full of pictures, paper, embellishments, etc. that I have planned on scrapbooking for a long time now. Is it even reasonable to think about using Project Life for all of these past photos or should I continue to use traditional scrapbooking for those and use Project Life for now? My kids are 20, 19 and 15 already! I am a procrastinating scrapbooker who needs some help … sigh.
Keep your chin up. Do yourself a favor and simplify. You could go back and do all those years in traditional scrapbooks by designing full pages. Absolutely. If you have the TIME + the DESIRE to get creative, go for it! If that thought overwhelms you however, I promise you that the EASE of Project Life is going to be a huge weight lifted from your shoulders. No more mom guilt. This is precisely why I designed Project Life to be what it is. It solves problems! It saves time! It’s easier to involve your family so that it can even become a TOGETHER project instead of Mom tucked away in her scrappy corner.
And now I sound like an infomercial. But wait. There’s more!
All those supplies that have been collecting? They’re fun. They’re gorgeous. And they were expensive. You don’t have to waste all that. Put them to good use in the Project Life pages if you want. Or … pass it all onto your kids to use, or donate to your local school or children’s shelter or another great cause. Plenty of people will appreciate your generosity.
…..
Do you journal as you go along before you print your pictures?
Sometimes, yes. For example – because my kids’ albums are physical scrapbooks and I’m using the Project Life system, I always have the 3×4 Journaling Cards handy to write down things they say, etc. Some things need to be written while they’re absolutely fresh in your mind. I love the 3×4 cards for this reason, and then I can slip them into the Photo Pocket Pages whenever I want.
For our family yearbooks, which I mentioned that I do on Shutterfly … my ideal routine (sometimes I get behind) is to do a layout per week. Each Sunday (again, this is ideal) I gather the pictures I want to include in last week’s layout, and add my journaling at the same time. It’s all on the computer. I print nothing. When I get a few weeks behind, it is super fast to catch up. I keep things simple and I couldn’t be happier.
…..
What do you do for months (i.e. summer or during Christmas or vacations) when you take lots of photos? That is my biggest issue with Project Life. I feel limited for these situations that I can’t include them all. But I guess my book would be huge if I included everything.
That’s it. You nailed it. If you included every picture you took, you’d have a ridiculous amount of albums. I’ve living proof of that from my earlier scrapbooking days. I am so into consolidating memories. You can tell a very rich story just as well with fewer pictures. In fact, if you include “too” many, that could just water everything down. Make sense? Case in point: We went on a big trip for our Spring Break. Guess what? That entire trip is on ONE layout in our family yearbook. That trip was no more important than life at home. It was simply part of our story, part of our life’s journey. But it didn’t define who we are any more than our everyday happenings in our everyday life.
I can’t say this enough: Project Life is what you want it to be. If you want 20 layouts from Christmas, then why wouldn’t you do that? Don’t listen to me or anyone else. Taking in suggestions is great, but go with your gut. Prioritize the real estate inside your album based on what matters most to you. Period.
…..
What tense do you write in? Are you writing to your kids? To a general audience? To yourself? I can’t decide which one I would like yet.
Personal choice. For me, I write to my kids in their individual albums. I never put words in their mouth. And I absolutely quote them or have them write their own journaling as much as possible. For our family yearbooks, I write to a general audience because while we are the ones enjoying these books right now, eventually they’ll end up in the hands of grandchildren or extended family. They are my general audience.
…..
I’m trying to get all my old photos out of those albums we used back in the 70s that had sticky pages with a plastic film overlay. What size pocket pages will work for those little square pictures?
I’d have to know the measurements of your pictures. There were a lot of interesting sizes over the years! I have plans to continue growing our plastics family (as mentioned above) so anyone who wants to put in a vote for what size pockets you’d like to see, especially when it comes to old pictures – let’s hear it.
…..
If ever there was a product I’d like to sell to my friends and family… THIS IS IT!!! Any chance you will be opening up to use individuals as sales reps in a Mary Kay, Scentsy, etc. party type program?
That is not at all in our plans right now, and yes – we did consider that. Again + again + again: We love you, loyal customers, and we are very grateful any time you spread the Project Life love and share this with your friends. Thank you a million times over!
…..
{ i’m blusing. }
From Beth: I had an epiphany today. Project Life is impacting our *quality of life*!!! What I realized is that Project Life motivates me to get off the couch and do things! It makes for a more interesting album, and a more interesting life. So on weekends or special days, I’m constantly thinking about what we could do in our home or community that will make me look back and say… “Wow, we did a lot of things.” It makes my kids more rounded and healthy, and it makes me feel like a better mom. Project Life motivates me to get out of a rut and really live. Thanks, Becky!
From Kiley: I just wanted to say thank you. My family loves this project! I also just completed a digital version on Shutterfly and made smaller versions of last year for my kids to have their own copy they love them so much. It took two hours. I love love love this project. I know it won’t be long before all of my years of collecting the bits and pieces of life will find their way to a book to be displayed the way they should be. I’ve been a fan since CK days. Thank you for creating this, sharing with all of us and for constantly keeping us up to date, for listening to feedback and adding more and more to project life!! Thank you!!

What is wrong with 43 volumes of traditional albums? Why say ouch? To me that say 43 albums worth of priceless memories documented.
I never said it was wrong. Any + all scrapbooking is terrific. It’s just soooo much – for me. “Ouch” that these albums take up so much space and I could have condensed many, many stories. Trust me- there are no regrets here. I just appreciate that I’ve evolved to how I do things now. It’s all good. : )
okay
yes, they do use a lot of real estate.
I would love to see 4″ x 4″ pocket pages. Many of my mom’s pictures are this size, and it would be great to get them into an album. Thanks!
They’re on their way – she announced these earlier.
I totally agree with Beth and Kiley — Project Life really can help you lead a better life, a more active and productive life. I am off the couch more and getting outside so I am healthier and feel like I am living life to the fullest – nevermind that on some days getting that POTD is what motivates me! Thanks Becky!
I love the direct sales question — I personally love that it’s on Amazon, so it loses the “guilt” factor that sometimes makes people buy a product at a direct sales party.
But I love the question because twice now while I have been passionately explaining how much Project Life simplifies memory keeping and how great it is and how much I love it, people have asked if I was trying to sell it to them. LOL. Ummm, no. Just like it a lot
{I guess I kinda think that gives creditability to the product – when people are talking/blogging/writing about these products, it’s simply because they love them.}
This is my 1st year doing PL. I’ve scrapbooked for many years. At 1st, I just wasn’t sure about it all;)! Now, I love it. I realized our life is fascinating! Just all the little details! Amazing the things that I may have never documented.
Some weeks though, I just don’t have enough going on to do 2 pages, so I do 1 side of the layout and the next week I do another side. So far it’s all worked out and made sense even if I didn’t do 2 pages per week. I figure like you said, we can do it any way we want:)
Thanks!
Lizzie
Great idea Lizzie.
So excited to see my questions answered. Thank you so much. I’m new to Project Life this year after being a traditional scrapper who was gettting 0 done. With a demanding full time job, an active 8 year old son, husband and home, there wasn’t any time. This you can just get itt done as life moves along. I’m loving it.
To the person who asked what to do with all of her scrapbook supplies: I have found it to be so much fun to add little touches to my Project Life album using these supplies.
Please feel free to visit my blog at http://angelamoore.typepad.com/my_life/ and click on the project life link under the categories.
To the person who asked about what to do on a “photo heavy” week…girl, just add a few more page protectors. Here are a couple examples from my album.

One thing you’ll see on this layout is that I created a photo collage at Walgreens to incorporate a bunch of photos.
Hello! When I read Claire’s little card it made me laugh. My little one is the exact same way! She has long blond hair that becomes a tangled mess every morning. She sleeps on silk pillow cases and everything..nothing worked….until we found the MAGIC BRUSH!! That is what it is called at our house. It is actually called the “Wet Brush” and you can find it on amazon. My salon carried it for $20 and I found it on amazon for $7.00 with free shipping! We have 4 of them in the house and I have given at least 6 away to friends! AWESOME for right out of the bath or pool! I can’t say enough about it….
I love Project Life and thanks for all that you do!
You have my attention Christi. I would be so grateful if you replied with a link to the exact brush on amazon so I can be sure I’m getting the same thing. I totally need to try this.
http://www.amazon.com/The-Wet-Rubberized-Detangle-Shower/dp/B000L596FE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334952159&sr=8-1
I hope this link works! I honestly had a 6 year old little girl that had a melt down EVERY day about combing her hair. Now she just says okay….but only with the Magic Brush. “The Wet Brush”. I feel like the angels sing every morning as I brush her hair. It was giving me anxiety too! LOL It is 6.98 and eligible for free shipping. That is probably why I got free shipping because I ordered 4 of them at one time. There isn’t a spot in my home/car/baseball bag that you can’t find one. The title says Luxor Professional The Wet Brush Detangling Shower Brush Hair Brushes….can you tell I LOVE this brush and want you to find the peace that I have in the mornings:).
Christi
THANK. YOU. CHRISTI.
We have 3 of them in our house.
I love them and so do my children!
Becky, you said you are waiting to do Crew’s album until the baby edition comes out. I’d like to do that too (my baby just turned 4 months), but have been wondering how I should keep track of journalist while I wait? Have you been keeping up with his album’s journaling on the side, like in a notebook or something? I’d love to hear any and all suggestions!
and I’m SOOO excited about all the new products!!
Details about the day he was born, how you’ve been spoiled, what kind of preparations you made during your pregnancy, labor & delivery story, first impressions, first visitors, how you chose his name, blessings & challedge of adjusting to the new normal, monthly highlights & milestones … that kind of stuff. : )
My favorite part of this post: “Summer 2012″ Childhood Project Life is coming! woohoo! I can’t wait:)
Also, I love your point about how PL allows us to use our scrap stash…I went digi a while ago to simplify my memory keeping, but I love getting to use up all the pretty things I collected with my PL books.
I really like using the shutterfly project life too. It is very fast and easy. Though you can only put 100 pages in a book, and so I’ve had to condense some weeks down into 1 page, instead of a whole spread. Which is fine. I then also added in a spread just for Easter. 2 pages, one spread – condensed all those pictures down into just a few of the best ones – the ones that will truly represent the memories.
I did also get some of the plastics and envelopes and journaling cards to get started on my kids’ school stuff – all the artwork! I am so proud of myself for all the sorting and condensing that I’ve done – and the fact I’m not going to have to hold on to piles and piles of artwork just because it was done my by child! I am still in need of a binder though…
Becky, I noticed you have so many different colors of what looks like your “signature” album – where can someone purchase these? I’d love to have a different color for each kid… and not just white.
I sent a message to Shutterfly because I was concerned about not having enough pages to do my whole PL book. I am doing a picture a day for my book, so need – what? – 106 pages with title page and back page?
Here is their reply:
“Please note that all photo books are a minimum of 20 pages and a maximum of 111 pages.”
So, we’re good for a whole year. Yay!!
That’s right, Sue. Actually I thought it was 110 pages but … 110 or 111. You can still surpass the previously limited 100 maximum page count. Shutterfly worked with us on that because they understood the vision of how some of us want to document the year on a week-to-week basis. : )
To answer Becky’s other question — our Signature Binders are only available in Black & White currently.
I read the post about the Mom with older children with tons of traditional scrapbooking supplies. This is what has worked for me because I still enjoy scrapbooking traditionally. I’ve been using Project Life for 3 years now. So, everything from 2010 to now is recorded. Easy, quick, memories kept and written. What have I done with older memories? I scrapbook them traditionally at my leisure. Why? Because life today is currently being documented I don’t feel the huge heavy burden to “catch up” and I enjoy the creative outlet that traditional scrapbooking affords. If anything I suspect that in the next year I will be caught simply because Project Life gives me more time to be creative with older memories. If you’re ready to catch up on your adult children and let go of your supplies my suggestion is simply: Go for Project Life…you can do/preserve so many memories in such a short time. Best to you!
I, too, still love my scrapbooking supplies (of which I have WAY too much) and doing traditional pages. But PL has been such a dream that has freed me from having to do so many albums. What I have been working on lately is just doing one, and only one, traditional two-page spread for some of the major things during the year. Things like road trips, holidays, birthdays, etc. I take so many pictures at these things that it just seems a shame to only have one picture in my PL book to document the event. And it’s fun to still do my traditional pages – with the help of Becky’s sketchbooks, of course. Couldn’t scrap without those beloved books. I’m living in the best of both scrapbooking worlds now – right?
I started in paper and went totally nutso buying stuff for years. Then I went digi but kept up with my stamping so I still used (and bought) paper supplies. But for the last couple of years I stopped it all, no paper, stamping or digi scrapping. PL came into my life at the right time, I was starting to feel the scrap itch but wasn’t sure what to do. I eagerly bought a signature album and a selection of plastics but (as much as I wanted to) I didn’t buy a core kit. For me PL was going to get me to FINALLY use that stash. And it has, for the most part. I do use a ton of the grid cards and I’ve found some new supplies to buy (washi tape, smash books, etc.) but if I had bought a core kit I wouldn’t have dug into my stash at all.
I’ve also pared down my existing stash. I’ve given my paper scrap kits to friends who still paper scrap. I’ve passed on other papers, markers & stickers to my DD. AND I’ve sold a ton of other items, tools, stamps, inks, embellishments, etc. By doing that I don’t feel guilty about spending money on this new PL system. I don’t let myself get bogged down by feeling bad about all the money I spent in the past. Past is past. I’ve helped out some scrappy friends, made my DD happy and earned back a little money to pay for my PL. It’s a win-win!
Thank you for sharing those adorable quotes from your daughter. I need to document those kind of things! Priceless….because I know my kids will say, “I never said that”!
Thank you for also posting the cute Me Too shoes recently. I work at DSW and you can imagine my elation when I found them in the bronze color in my size in clearance while I was cleaning up. Woo! Hoo! Too bad they won’t give you a cut, I’m sure they sold a lot of shoes because of you!
Would it be easy to go back in time and do project life? My children are 26, 24 and 22. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to do each year in an album?
I think you could do this – maybe you won’t have the typical weekly detailed journaling that a lot of people are doing right now, but you could easily do a journaling card for each photo, with a simple note or longer journaling. Maybe tackle it one year at a time? Also, i don’t know how many pictures you have from years ago, maybe you could combine several years into one album. I have one album I’m working on that is consolidating ALL my old photos. Since I never really took a ton of pictures prior to starting Project Life (really, prior to getting married), they’ll all fit nicely into one album.
And, as a side note, I have a Signature binder with some traditional layouts I’d done for my son, plus a bunch of extra pictures I’d had printed when I gave up on traditional scrapbooking. I absolutely intend to purchase a baby edition when it becomes available and go back and do an album for his first year
I am in the thick of Project Life memory keeping right now and frequently get teary-eyed with emotion as I continue to make miles more progress than I ever did with my traditional scrapbooking! My confidence as a mother and “historian” of my family has been elevated to new heights and my heart feels light as I think about my closet full of photos waiting to be touched by this miraculous system of yours! I’ve been able to work through most the kinks and questions I’ve had along the way on my own, but I’m having trouble with my horizontal and vertical photos. Let’s say I want to complete a page of my children building a snowman & I took 3 horizontal and 2 vertical photos. What would be the best way to incorporate those photos using the page protectors? I have all the varieties you currently offer, but am not sure how to create a layout with both types of photos. I consistently take both vertical and horizontal, so this is something I am going to continue to run into. Thanks for listening!
Brooke, that is very touching. Thank you so much for sharing that.
Are you familiar with Design G? It’s designed to hold horizontal & vertical pictures & 3×4 journaling cards – all in the same page. Yay for THAT.
In one of the videos Becky had about basic, easy PL, the gal put her vertical pics in sideways and it was fine. It wasn’t a big deal to cock your head to look at them. What I have done over the years, for mine, is just crop two vertical pics down to 3X4, place them side by side (either physically or in Photohop) and have two vertical pics side by side in a 6X4 horizontal pocket. This year I am doing the digital version and using only the D template (with all vertical pics.) So I have concentrated on taking more vertical pics than I used to but still crop and size down the horizontal ones and place one above the other in the vertical slot. It works fine and I get to use two pics instead of one. Works great.
I have the same situation with lots of horizontal and vertical photos. I tried using design G with some horizontal and some vertical but that got difficult to work out especially because then you have to do the next layout like that, so I just stick the vertical ones in horizontally. It’s not perfect but it works.
Hey Becky- you’ve probably mentioned this before but I can’t seem to find it– are you doing an album per year for each kid or trying to put a few years into each album? Just curious:)
Thank you for sharing so much with us! It has really helped me to document more of the everyday stuff as well! So thankful for that!!
Kathryn
MULTIPLE years per album. I don’t want my child lugging around 18 albums. Nothing wrong with that, but it’s not what I want for them because I think they’ll be less likely to take them with them.
this is so random but my whole family gets involved…my kids (6 and 9) are always saying, “Mom, take of picture of this for Project Life”. lol! I did it also in 2009, and from that year my husband got a digital picture frame and put all my PL pics from that year on there (I keep a PL folder on my desk top). So nice to see our everyday life and so nice to have support!
I would love to see pockets for the 3.5×5 pictures that I have boxes of from the 90s!
Thanks!
me too!
I’d also love 3.5 X 5 – it was THE size to have in the 80s and 90s. It would be great to not have to mount them all on 4×6 paper first!
Hi Becky, Thank you so much for all of the new page protectors. I will be putting my order in with CraftHouseNZ this weekend.
One request – would you consider producing an A4 size page protector? A4 is the standard paper size in most places other than North America. The reason I ask is that most of the artworks, certificates, letters etc come in this size here in Australia. The 8.5X11 are just a little bit smaller and trimming the document isn’t always an option. I would love to have A4 protectors in landscape and portrait. I am currently using some from an office supply store but the quality is not as good as yours. I currently use a lot of them.
Thanks again, Sharon
I could have written this request myself. Yes please to A4 size
Yes please! A4 is standard in Denmark too – probably so in rest of Europe. It would be so great.
Ohh P L E A S E – please!
Thanks for the update about the baby stuff. Question, I have just received my first pl stash and am working on my 17 month olds baby book, hoping to get it done before #2 comes in August, just wondering if you would advise waiting for your baby stuff to come out? Or should I just do it now and when it comes out if I want to do it differently would it be say to mix and match some new stuff in? Or would I have to start again? Appreciate your thoughts, Thanks, Jane
To the person looking for ideas to document their pregnancy, I put a 4×6 picture each week in my project life album as well as use one of the journaling cards to document what baby is up to that week as far as development goes. If we have an ultrasound or whatever I document more! I have kept up with pictures and everything so much better than I did with my first pregnancy!
Becky,
I had the thrill of victory hoping that some of this week’s announcement would be 8 1/2 x 11 page protectors, quickly followed by the agony of defeat. Any chance some of those are in the works too? I love the variety of options that are available for the 12×12, but I just can’t go back to that giant size!
plastic protectors to accomodate the 3.5X% photo print sizes of the 1980-1990s would be great – I’ve finally talked my mother to dis-assembling the magnetic albums – now I just need photo pockets for this size – then I’m good to go!
Becky, thanks so much for answering the couple of questions I posted
As I was thinking about all your CK sketches, I actually pulled out all my old magazines yesterday…
and SOOOOOOOOOOOO many of them would make AMAZING page protectors for Project Life!!!
Looks like you already did half the work for Project Life designing and didn’t even know it!
I cannot tell you how excited I am for this line to continue to grow- it’s awesome
Love that my husband is not the only “bad guy” buying donuts! There are only two things I refuse to buy – donuts and ice cream – but don’t think my children are deprived! My husband takes care of both!
For the binder I know Becky has used We R Memory Keepers albums. I get mine at Archiver’s and use a 30% off coupon. I love the variety of colors available and I just buy based on the project. I am anxiously waiting to see the childhood products. I want to.transition to this as soon as possible.
I also told.my mom that her Mother’s day gift will be me helping her get her amazing life story documented and I am going to use Project Life to do.it so definitely need protectors for older pictures and would love a more “neutral” core kit- like black and white to.accommodate older photos.
HI Becky,

I would love to have page protectors for 3 1/2 x 5 photos — that seems to be what the majority of my son’s photos are from his early years. Thank you for always listening and sharing — you make my heart smile!!
Also, while I’m thinking of it, I always have a few vertical 4×6 pictures that I would love to add, but, don’t want to cut down a large page to put them in. Having a page protector that just had 2 front and back for vertical 4×6 pictures would be awesome, too! As I’m sure you’re discovering, the possibilities are endless. I had a traditional scrapbook page that I did to add which left the back side to fill and I used an 8×12 and two vertical 4×6 pictures and that filled it right up and I was thinking — oh, page protector! Lol. Truly, though, Project Life has changed the way I look at almost everything. You’re amazing and inspiring and I tell anyone and everyone who will listen.
Great post Becky, and I love all the new page protectors coming out. I would really love it though, if you could bring out some divided 8.5×11 protectors and envelope pages in this size as well – then I could easily slot them in my existing/traditional albums, but mix all the pages up a bit with the PL style.
I just wanted to give my two cents on the Lady that asked about what you do for special times (Christmas, vacations, ect)
I do the regular PL but on those special occasions I either add extra page protectors or I add in a traditional scrapbook page. Hope this helps.
Hi Becky, I am very excited about the prospect of your school/kids supplies coming out. And this may be jumping the gun a little, but for my own planning, I’m wondering if they will be available digitally as well at some point. I’m using the digital version for my PL and I LOVE it. I’d like to continue with that system for my kids’ albums.
Thanks so much for all you do to make documenting life doable!
Hi Becky, thanks for sharing! Your asked for feedback on sizes, would you please consider offering more in 8.5×11 and 8×8? Especially the dividers and pocket pages.
Thanks and am enjoying the project life this year! (using a 4×6 photo album and your clementine series.)
So excited for the project life baby kit and school kits. They will be so awesome! Thank you!!
I love the new pages. Would also love to see 3.5 X 5, which seemed to be the main size for pics in the 70s & 80s and maybe into the 90s. That’s the era of my girls’ childhoods.
I love your products and your blog! Just wanted to mention that I have come up with a new (for me) use for your tabbed dividers: I will be using them to divide my 3 ring binder that I store recipes I’ve found online and printed. Just ordered 3 sets so I can use them in my scrapbooks too.
Hi Becky, I am really intrigued by PL. I am a 65 year old grandma taking care of my 91 year old mother. While the grandkids make for really good PL material, I only see them every couple of weeks. I am concerned about life at home with someone who needs 24/7 care. I feel my days are very repetitive and often very sad. How will these days fit in a PL album? I hesitate to do PL at this time because of this. Please share your thoughts. Thank you.
Quick question about your new baby products. I assume you will have a girl set and a boy set. Will you have multiple girl and boy sets for those of us with multiple same sex children?
I know this has probably been asked and answered many times but I feel like I keep wanting to post it and I never do. I love scrapbooking and photography and I want to start this project but it is April. I know it doesn’t really matter when you start, I just think that my January to present pages will be sparse and since I’m not in a routine, it might take a while to get into my groove of the project. Do you have any advice for a Project Life virgin who is desperately behind??
How about blank project life 3×4 and 4×6 to print on?
cards…oops
I haven’t read through all the comments so I apologize if this is a duplicate request… but I’d LOVE to see page protectors for the 3×5 pictures… I have a million pictures in that size and they sit sadly in a box
Love everything you do!!
