Hey Becky,

Could you do a post sometime about how you scan and print your children’s artwork? What is the process, what kind of scanner, how do you print. I really want to incorporate the ideas you showed in your recent video. Their art comes in all sizes so any help would be much appreciated!

I have those blue shoes you linked to, but in black. They are a tad big on me but I still bought them because they are so cute and comfy and I got them for $30 at Last Chance. Can’t beat that.

Hi Becky,
So glad you shared a little about Oreo, have been waiting for an update. It took us about 3/4 months for our puppy to be really house trained, at least not having to go out every half hour or hour. Just about this time he could wait an hour or two, so that helped a lot. For the first few months he stayed right by my side and I jsut kept taking him out and about 5 months old he would scratch the door to go out on his own. I also didn’t let him have the run of the house till he was much older and no accidents at all. He’s also not a chewer so that was helpful, sorry about the shoes!!

We did go to private puppy lessons just so the kids would learn how to play gentle with him and do tricks and good dog behavior in general. It was really helpful and fun for all of us.

Hang in there your almost over the stretch, it does get better then you forget all about these days. Kinda like a newborn baby!!

I use to be this way in the beginning and missed out on some cool pictures of my kids/family/ whatever the subject was at the moment. Over the years though it’s becoming MORE IMPORTANT to capture these little EVERYDAY memories for myself and the family. I want my kids to remember all these little moments when they are as old as I am and we forget. My mom doesn’t always remember all the little details and I want to make sure my kids and I have these docutmented for when I’m to old to remember, lol

So for now I don’t let the stares bother me anymore and know it’s for me and that’s all that matters. It does take time to get use to it but the more you do it the easier it gets!! GOOD LUCK!

I used to feel the same way but I recently mentioned this to a therapist friend and she said something about “spotlight thinking.” Many of us think that people notice every little thing we do, that we have a “spotlight” on us, when in fact most part people are so involved in their own thing that they don’t really notice what anyone else is doing. I usually have a million things rambling around in my head that I definitely don’t have time or mind space to worry about the actions of people I don’t even know.

And for those that do notice if you’re in the moment and happy about taking the picture than who cares. These are our memories not theirs. =)

I just received my first order from Persnickety Prints earlier this week. Some really old digi layouts from when I first got into scrapbooking…cool right?! So happy to finally get these printed an into an album that people can actually look at!

The quality was so great and I’m so glad I used them to print you can tell that they care about their work. Would SO recommend with two thumbs up!

Thanks for your post on Oreo. I found out today that Petco offers free potty training classes and offers tips for the human. I would go to their website find the closest store and look at their store events calendar.

Its a 30 min class. Here is what it says: Have a new puppy or an older dog going potty in the houes? Join our FREE 30-minute seminar and learn great tips to help prevent accidents. Successful potty training can last a life time.

My location offers it from 12:30-1. I am so there tomorrow!

Something that may be good in addition to your private class. Can’t hurt right?

I have to ask a question. I dove into PL last year and always loved seeing people’s pages with random shots of their day. How do you get past the embarrassment of snapping pictures of your groceries getting loaded into your basket or your kid’s blood getting drawn at the doctor’s? I was in Target taking a picture of my shoes..I was being random..and when I looked up a group of young girls were looking at me like I was crazy!

Maybe not always embarrassment but who takes pics of their food or kid’s getting poked? Well I do

Did you know that Sherwin Williams has an app for the iPhone that allows you take a picture of something and get the “recipe” for a paint store to mix into a paint color? That might be helpful for any of your readers who might want your same paint color.

Persnickety prints is awesome for printing Instagrams and quite honestly everything else! I think they ask that you print a minimum of 8 or 10 (I can’t remember) so when I’m putting my PL together I just punch out a 2×2 square write the date and the subject of the instagram and put that in my PL until I get around to printing all of my Instagrams.
