new plastics in the house.

Thursday, July 26th, 2012

I am too tired to try to comprehend how on earth this happened. Within hours of blogging about the delays and how it would be next Friday before we see the plastics arrive, they start showing up on Amazon tonight! I completely do not understand what is going on this week but I am sooooo happy – as I am sure many of you are – to have these hot items available now!

This just in: Amazon has just received truckloads FULL of our newest plastics! If you are outside the U.S., please be sure to check with your local distributor (listed by country/region HERE) – because they either already have these items in stock, or will be shipping very soon.

As you browse through this blog post, simply click on the product name wherever it’s listed and that will link you directly to that specific listing on Amazon. All links are also being updated on our Products page right now.

Our Big Envelope Pages were already in stock but the Tall Envelope Pages + Small Envelope Pages are brand new – and will make the perfect little home to store memorabilia in your scrapbooks. The flap tucks flat + neat – so no bulk from a snap. All 3 sizes have a clear pocket on the front to label contents – Big holds a 4×6 card; Tall + Small hold a 3×4 card. Yep – we think of the little things.

Finally – FINALLY – You have a place to put those portraits, certificates, documents, works of art, and other important items – without having to create a whole scrapbook page around them. These are our new Page Protectors (same awesome quality of our Photo Pocket Pages – but no divided pockets).

Page Protectors – Small Variety Pack 2

Instagram has us all taking square pictures these days, but let’s not forget old Polaroids and other square format pictures from years past. You’ll love these smaller sized pages that are perfect for adding a few extra pictures between layouts.

Photo Pocket Pages – Small Variety Pack 1

{ bummer }

Yes – Unfortunately all of the Design G Photo Pocket Pages in these Variety Packs were found to be … not perfect. They still “work” and they’re still totally functional. But the pocket sizes are slightly incorrect (in the whole batch – *sigh*) which means that our 3×4 and 4×6 cards aren’t a PERFECT fit in the pockets.

{ good news }

On the bright side, we have automatically discounted this Small Variety Pack 1 on Amazon. The pack of 12 has been reduced $2.00 – so it’s $4.99 instead of $6.99 because of the 3 “defective” pages that are in the package. This would absolutely be a FANTASTIC time to pick up the sampling of new Photo Pocket Pages. And besides – Design G (in perfect condition) – is available in its own pack of 12, if you are sad to miss out of those in the Variety Pack.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience (trust me) and yes – new packs are being produced now (with the correction) and I’ll keep you updated when I have an estimated arrival date.

It’s amazing how some plastic pages can make some of us very, very giddy. I know without a doubt that so many of those feelings come from a place of relief knowing that there are all these excellent products that help us get our memory-keeping done without all the fuss, without all the time, without the overwhelming feeling that scrapbooks have to be utterly time-consuming to put together.

We are happy to deliver solution-based products, and I sincerely hope you enjoy your new goodies.

If you have questions about any of these products please remember that the Amazon listing shows several pictures per item – and also has a list of product features that will likely answer your questions. However, feel free to leave a question in the Comments if you’re still unsure about something. I’ll do my very best to respond.

Core Kits have arrived! It’s a Thursday Miracle!

Thursday, July 26th, 2012

I seriously don’t know how we lucked out to have our Core Kits show up in the system today, after all we’ve been through this week but … who cares!? I would say this feels like Christmas in July … but really – it will feel more like that when the REST of our stuff arrives next week – including all the new plastics. But Christmas Eve in July?? SURE!

The question I get a lot is “how fast will these sell out?” and friends – I just don’t know. If you are holding out on getting a Core Kit for when the plastics show up next week, I totally get that. But I know a lot of you don’t want to risk it. That’s your call.

Know this: We already have more of every edition being made right now so IF you go to order and the Core Kit you want is saying that it’s currently unavailable … please don’t stress out. More are coming. They are being delivered to Amazon in batches so what just arrived today is just one batch, with more on the way.

Got it? Good. Let’s move on to shopping! Click on the links that will take you straight to that listing on Amazon so you don’t have to search around.

Be sure what you’re buying looks like these, by the way! It seems as though the OLD Amazon listings for our OLD Core Kits (that are more “boxy”) are still floating around, even though the products don’t exist anymore. By clicking on the links in this post, you should be A-OK.  : )

when will the products get here?

Thursday, July 26th, 2012

AUGUST 3rd. That’s what you need to know at a two-second glance. But since this is a later date than we were all expecting, here’s a little more explanation … if you’re interested.

…..

Refresh. Refresh. Refresh. Refresh. Refresh.

Refresh.

All day long. For the past 2 days. I’ve been clicking the refresh button on the back end of Amazon where I, as a seller, can see the status of my shipments. But trust me, I was also being proactive via email and phone communication with our logistics team and Amazon to try to figure out what was going on. Where is our product? Why isn’t it there yet?

Valerie on facebook wrote: I think the Amazonians are sitting back with their coffee and waiting to push the button, and laughing at all of us. (I appreciate her sense of humor.)

Cristina said: Thank you for your updates … i do not even bother to check amazon … i will just wait for your updates … and when they are finally available I WILL BE SHOPPING LIKE CRAZY!!!!!

(And Cristina’s right, my friends. You do not have to stalk Amazon. You know I’m doing the stalking, and you know that as long as you’re getting my facebook or twitter or instagram updates, you will be totally in-the-know as stuff shows up. That’s what I do.)

We’ve learned a few things about Amazon this week. Since the last time we had products arrive to Amazon, some things have changed on their end and it looks like they’ve been through some growing pains. I totally get growing pains and I hold nothing against them – except, perhaps, that better communication would have been nice.

{ plastics }

We were expecting to see all of our new plastics (as outlined here) yesterday. They’re not there. I just found out this morning that the shipment in fact did not arrive, and in fact – the appointment time we had with Amazon was changed to next week. I know. I KNOW! This is something we have never experienced before with Amazon (did I mention we learned a lot this week?) and there is absolutely nothing we can do about this.

Our new appointment time with Amazon is Monday, but one of their “new” things with sellers is that we need to allow 3-5 business days from the time of delivery to the day the products actually become available in the system. It used to be that our stuff would show up, unload, magically appear in the system, and they would literally be shipping hundreds of packages the very. same. day. We were blown away by their ability to do this, but now we need to adjust to their new time table.

So — I would say that it’s safe to say we will now see our plastics on Amazon by August 3.

{ core kits + organizational trays }

We did finally receive an appointment time for the delivery of our Core Kits, and I would expect to see those around the same time.

{ binders }

Still no appointment time with Amazon at the time of publishing this post, but very likely the few that are currently sold out will be showing up right behind the other stuff.

…..

August 3rd, my friends. Anything sooner would be a pleasant surprise. Anything later will make me cry because of the headaches we’ve already been through. But this is the world of business. The good news is that we really are learning + growing a lot as a company which = constant improvement. The other good news is that once everyone has what they want, and we’re not sold out of so much, we’ll all hardly blink an eye as we look back to the times when being patient was really hard. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. I’m “pleased” for those of you who are actually happy with the (unintentional) timing adjustments because of your current travels, etc.

We’re doing our best. I hardly know how to respond to all the kindness + enthusiasm flying around in social media about Project Life. Thank you.

PS1 – As soon as we get through this unique time of craziness surrounding our product arrivals, we’ll cool our jets on all the product updates + I’ll be back to more “regular” blogging.  : )

PS2 – Not interested in keeping up on facebook, twitter, or instagram? No problem. We are keeping our PRODUCTS page updated so whenever you’re wondering if a product is in stock or when it’s coming … the information is all there, on a product-by-product basis.
