feedback friday

Q: Great rug! Which one is it and what size did you get?

A: I shared this snapshot (on facebook / twitter / instagram) of a new rug adorning a corner in our kitchen. HERE is the link on Grandinroad.com and I got the 5-ft size.

…..

Q: Are the holes on the new 8×10 and the 8.5×11 Page Protectors spaced to fit in a 12×12 binder or are they intended for an 8.5×11 binder?

A: Both! Standard 3-ring binders have the same spacing between rings in both 8.5×11 binders and 12×12 binders. We expect these new items (along with the 5×7 Page Protectors + 3 new Photo Pocket Page designs + Small Envelope Pages + Tall Envelope Pages + Core Kits) to be in stock soon – hopefully by the end of next week. Watch this short video overview of the new “plastics” coming out.

…..

Q: I was just wondering how you get such great pictures from your iPhone 4S. Mine always have a warning when printing them at Costco and are very grainy. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

A: When you upload (to Costco or anywhere), don’t upload at a faster speed. From what I understand, this lowers the resolution. Be sure you’re uploading full-size images. That could be the issue.

…..

Q: I saw on your recent post that the baby and childhood editions will be available in October – does that include a school version?

A: Our childhood product are all-encompassing for a child’s memories. This includes school, social life, family, hobbies … everything in a child’s life. When I share more detail sometime next month and actually give you a visual, it’ll all make more sense. A lot of thought and a lot of revisions went into these products. And it just didn’t make as much sense to separate “school” from everything else going on in a child’s life.

…..

Q: In what stage of the process are the school/childhood products? Is that a future project that hasn’t been started yet or is it “in the works?”

A: They are being sampled and printed and just about in full-blown production right now. We’re aiming to have our childhood products available in October.

…..

Q: When you release the “new” editions, will you still sell the old versions, or will they retire?

A: We will continue to offer several editions at any given time (they’re almost back in stock again – yay!) so when the two new 2013 editions are released in November, you will still be able to pick up any of the other editions. We will only retire editions when they’re just not selling anymore. That’s the plan.

…..

Q: Are the new Core Kits going to have more horizontal journaling cards? And does that mean all journaling cards have designs; no more blank grids included?

A: Yes. Speaking of revisions … you will find that the new Core Kits have much more flexibility with horizontal + vertical journaling cards. And the back of every single journaling card is a gorgeous and versatile filler design for those spots where you don’t want or need to write anything. Every single card is beautifully designed to be compatible to everything else in the kit. There are no longer “plain” grid cards in a Core Kit. Those are sold separately in a box of 100 if you’re interested. Those are coming by the end of this month, along with the plain White Cards.

…..

Q: I have a random question. You posted at one time about a hairbrush that worked great on your daughter’s hair. I am desperate for a brush that will get through my daughter’s hair with minimal drama! Can you tell me which brush you purchased? I think you got it on Amazon??

A: Yep, this brush is a total GEM for anyone who has difficult hair to brush – or a sensitive scalp – like our Claire. It’s called the Wet Brush, but I call it the Magic Brush because it seriously is that good.

Debbie writes: I found my stack of wedding/honeymoon photos this weekend. We were married over 6 years ago and still have no album because I’m a terrible scrapbooker. Well … I’m sitting down with my Project Life pages, and popping them in! We might actually have a wedding album. Thank you! This has been weighing on me for 6 years! I’m so excited. OK. Less typing … more popping photos into pages!

Tonye writes: Can I just mention the love I have for the Core Kits? It would probably be considered unhealthy to love the Core Kits this much. Oh my Gosh!! I love writing again. Thank you for making it easy!!

…..

Shannon writes: This is my first time doing Project Life digitally and I am loving doing it through Shutterfly! I changed all of my pages to Design A and it is so easy to stay up-to-date by adding a photo and journaling every night! Love, love, love it!

…..

Lise writes: Becky, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I LOVE memory keeping now. It’s not a chore anymore, not another item on my “to do” list that I keep putting off. I’m taking more photos than ever before, of things I wouldn’t have thought to take a photo of before, because I wouldn’t have thought it “important” enough to put in a photo book.

I would love to hear more about the 3X4 punch for the next Feedback Friday! What are the plans for the 3X4 punch — will it be out this year? Thanks! Any idea on a price?

  2. LizH. says:

I was wondering if the school kit that you are coming out with, will be compatible with the school kit you did for Creating Keepsakes as I have 3 of those. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. BTW love project life, it”s so nice when my children and family will say, you can take this or that for your picture of the day. Thank you so much for this product.

I was wondering where do you send your photos to be printed off? I can’t find a place that I am total happy with :/

Becky I love that you are so great about sharing things you find & love! Thank-you!!! On that note will you please share where you found that darling striped shirt from your pictures of your “date” with your great hubby. I MUST get that shirt…. soooo darling!

Thanks again for inspiring me to capture the little moments in pictures!

I love everything about all your products, but can I just say that I bought a Wet Brush the first time you ever talked about it and that is true MAGIC with bristles, right there! It looks like a normal brush but I’ll tell you it is a lifesaver at our house, too :)

    Hi Becky,
A week or two ago you mentioned about finding a great new camera bag! Can you share??

    Thanks so much!

Would you ever consider providing a precise size guide for each protector? I print my own cards/photos on the computer & size them all to 3×4 but still spend a TON of time cutting down with my paper cutter. It would be so much easier to size down to the specific size for each opening.

    Thank you!

Is it funny that I think your new rug looks like it came straight out of the Cherry Edition Project Life? Looks great!

I nearly passed out sitting at my computer desk this morning when I read the {some of your feedback} section of your blog post…. thank you so much for sharing my comment :)

Me, too! I just read the same post and agree with Lise…thanks for sharing my comment, too!

I have to also add that I love the Shutterfly version so much that, in addition to doing this year’s album, I am going back to do previous years in an all “Design A” album as well. I’m finally going back through some storage cards and flashdrives and am popping photos into their spots in previous years. I take a ton of photos and am finding that I can come up with a nearly complete album for 2009, 2010 and 2011 even though I’m just starting on them now. I turned the album into all Design A pages (except for the title page). If I have something to write about the photo or day, I do. If not, I simply add clip art or the date in large print on the journaling spots. I have not ordered any finished 12×12 Project Life books yet, but I am nearing completion on one. Can’t wait to see how my finished book looks in real life! Thanks, again, for making this so easy and for helping me get so many photos organized in a short amount of time.

      Shannon :)

Any chance we can get a sneak peak of the childhood kit components? I’m giving each of my three kids an album for Christmas this year with all of their childhood photos and keepsakes. I was planning to purchase all the materials for this big project this month (if I can get to it before it sells out) so I can get to work as soon as possible, but if the childhood kits are going to work better for this then I’ll hold off. I don’t want to purchase everything then wish I had waited – it’s just difficult to make a decision without seeing both options. Thanks for providing such great solutions to those of us who never really felt comfortable with scrapbooking, but who still want a beautiful way to display our most precious memories.

How’s the Lytro camera working for you? I’d guess not very well since you haven’t mentioned it yet. I’m very curious, your thoughts on it. Thanks!

I love the look of your wall that is behind your kitchen chair! Is it wallpaper or a stencil? I would love to do that in my home:) BTW, I am so excited and can’t wait for all of your products to come out in mid July. My friend shared your blog with me and I knew it was for me!! Thanks for all your hard work.

just an FYI for the person who asked about a brush…my daughter has naturally curly hair and the brush that saved our lives is called The Knot Genie! you can find it on-line (knotgenie.com). worth EVERY penny!!!

  14. Audrey says:

    Hi Becky,

Can you tell me where the pillow with the numbers came from? That is really cool.

Also, goes without saying but will say it anyway. LOVE PL. Still working on 2012 but already excited about what the designs for 2013 will look like:-)

  15. ARC says:

I LOVE the new Cherry edition. May need to splurge and get that mid-year :D

I am brand new to scrapbooking and love that I’ve been able to do PL since the beginning of this year. What a neat system :)

    Hi,
A couple of questions for Feedback Friday

    1. Any chance of creating some A4 or multi-punched sleeves?

    2. Do you keep your Children’s primary colouring pictures (& talks) & if so do you put them in their PL albums &/or journals?
