introducing : the Childhood Editions

Oh, for the love. Can this week be more exciting? I am guaranteeing myself a nap this weekend.

But first – I have more huge, exciting product reveals for today! You’ve all been anticipating the Childhood products and the video explains everything (because I KNOW most of you are skipping past the video and looking at the pictures and thinking – huh?) … and there’s even another surprise at the end. So – yes. You for sure need to watch this video.  : )

…..

Our very own lead designer Lori Whitlock is the graphic design talent behind everything you see in these Childhood products. We love Lori, and I couldn’t be happier with the results of all her hard work.

…..

Childhood Mini Kit: Wellington Edition

…..

Childhood Mini Kit: Bridgeport Edition

…..

Childhood Mini Kit: Mayfield Edition

…..

Here’s a layout that Lori created for her daughter’s album. She’s in my same situation … not enough time in this whirlwind week to complete the journaling in time for today … but you get the idea of how amazing these cards look paired with photos.

…..

Speaking of Lori, you’ll definitely want to pop over to her blog because she’s actually giving away one of the Childhood Mini Kits! (Of course delivery of the prize to the winner happens later this year when the products become available).

{ timing } As of now, we’re hoping Childhood Mini Kits arrive before the end of the year … but we’ll update you if we find out anything different on our production timing.

{ versatility } Once again, we aim to keep our products versatile. Not only in the whole vertical/horizontal orientation of all the card designs and the double-sided nature of every single card, but also in the product offering. I touched on this a little in the video, but just in case there is anyone feeling bummed that I didn’t just put the whole 9 yards (18 years worth of childhood memories) in one box? It just doesn’t make sense as a product when one person might want to just do a couple years’ worth like this … and someone else might want to do several years with these products.

Having the Mini Kit system with 100 cards in a box to document a full year in a child’s life just makes sense, and allows for total flexibility for you, the customer, to decide if you want to just try one out … or if you want to pick up a whole bunch of these Mini Kits. Obviously the price point (not completely finalized yet) is way lower than a full Project Life Core Kit.

Also speaking of versatility, you’ll find that our Childhood cards work for any child, living anywhere, attending public school, charter school, private school, home school … doesn’t matter. Nothing says “1st grade” or “Grade 1″ or “Year 1″. You can totally make these cards work for your child’s life. And … I really hope you’re even inspired to go back and get your own childhood documented now that it’s easier than ever!

{ expanding the mini kit line } I mentioned this in the video, and briefly shared our vision of these products “exploding to be a much larger line of Mini Kits”. Just to explain that a little further … we want to offer an expanded offering of different colors and styles (…and themes …and designers!) so that year after year after year, you’ll have the option to mix it up if you’d like. See what I mean? This is a long-term big picture idea for the Mini Kits. For right now, we are super thrilled with the Wellington, Bridgeport, and Mayfield Editions – and we sure hope you’re pleased as well.

Yay for the Big Week of Reveals.

Yay for simplifying memory-keeping for everyone!

Seriously – Thank you times a million for your enthusiasm + support. It’s been an absolute thrill to finally share all of this with you this week. Our designers feel the love too, and it just motivates all of us to keep doing what we’re doing.  : )

  1. [...] have something truly exciting to share with you today. Becky Higgins and I have been working and re-working on a Childhood/School Project Life concept over the past [...]

  2. deveney stolk says:

now I really don’t know what to choose I LOVE all your new products!

  3. Liv says:

Except for the fact that my whole continent -Australia- is missing from the map card (which would have been my favourite), looks good.

  4. Heidi says:

I don’t know what I love more…the fact that it’s after midnight and you’re posting this or the new childhood minis!!! Love the thought of the mini albums!!!

  5. Kelley says:

Love it all, except for the fact that Australia is missing from the map card. Seems like a pretty big oversight, given that you’re an international business.

    • Karen (NZ) says:

      And New Zealand :-(

    • Laura says:

Yes, it would have been nice if we were on there, but it’s not as if Australia was forgotten – it’s only a (large) portion of the world map and there are plenty of other countries that aren’t on there either. Not so much an ‘oversight’ as something they probably didn’t think people would get their knickers in a knot over.

      • Kelley says:

Then that’s pretty dismissive. Kind of like leaving out one or two kids for a class birthday party, isn’t it?

If we were not ‘forgotten’ then were we deliberately left out? Nice.

  6. Meredith says:

I love the colors of the Mayfield Edition! I have been using the Amber Edition for my daughters’ childhood albums starting with their 1st birthdays. I can’t wait to go back and do their 1st year with the baby girl edition, and then start using these when they start going to school! I love Project Life!!!

  7. Elizabeth D says:

Can I say how much I love these childhood kits. Amazing job Lori and all the other designers this week for all your creativity you put into these PL kits. I really love each of the childhood kits and can’t wait to see all the next versions years to come. Thanks Becky! I love using your system in my some what traditional scrapbook albums. It’s a great feeling to go back through my daughters album and love everything about it. Can’t wait to get all childhood kits, boy and girl baby kit, and one of the new core kits. Broke before you know it.

  8. Kellie says:

Oh boy, you need to stop, I may as well just hand over my bank details hehe! These are amazing and I had never thought to do this and now I am wanting it already! Amazing as are all the releases!

  9. Amy says:

LOVE the new childhood kits! Can’t wait for my first kit to come in (the Cobalt) now I can’t wait to order these too!!

  10. Don’t really get what to choose from your new products! Just Awesome…

  11. Happy Dance!!! I almost let out a huge squeal when I saw that you had already put your blog post up! Then I saw the reveal and I did luckily I didn’t wake the entire house up…. I am in LOVE!!! AMAZING!!!! I can’t wait to get my hands on the childhood kits for my girls and dare I attempt to go back do my childhood??? I’m totally tempted!!!

  12. Anita says:

I have LOVED doing Project Life for the past two years and my kids love going through it every now and then. Each week, as I slip my photos and PL cards into the pages of my album, I quietly thank you, Becky, for making my life that much easier. These new arrivals are amazing, beautiful, wonderful…THANK YOU SO MUCH. I love them all and I love you.

  13. mari says:

what a wonderful idea, concept and collaboration!

  14. TaraMcK says:

    A) this week was awesome B) I love everything C) those mini albums! LOVE – I vote for an apple/lime green and/or a turquoise

  15. Diane Drysdale says:

I LOVE it all – am so excited and cannot wait for Xmas!!

Oops at Australia not being in the map card!!

Also – can you please clarify (sorry if I have missed it already) are there cards with MUM instead of MOM in your baby editions?

    • Diane Drysdale says:

      Oops just found my answer!

Another vote for “MUM” spelling on the reverse side of the cards!!!

I believe it is Australia, New Zealand and The UK which use the MUM spelling – which is quite a few of us :D

      • libbywilko says:

I would also love some Mum spellings and maybe favourite :) I’m guessing it might be unlikely to get it on the reverse side of some of the cards due to lower market share but perhaps you could release a digital copy of the Aus, NZ, UK spellings so we can print our own cards ?

Thanks for producing such an amazing collection of new products !

  16. Nikki says:

This is wonderful I am so excited now I just need a 3×4 punch lol I love your products keep up the good work

    • Carrie Alexander says:

      3×4 punch? Genius!!!

      • Scrapflicka says:

Yes please, get us that punch and all my scrapbooking dreams have come true!

      • Melissa says:

I think it might only be me that doesn’t really understand the 3×4 punch concept. I’m a big time crafter, and my experience with ALL brands of punches (EK Success/SU, Fiskars, etc) is that they often malfunction/stick/don’t cut nicely, ESPECIALLY on photos. I think it’s much cleaner to cut the photos/cardstock with a trimmer and round the corners. I just think if she puts out a punch, there may be a lot of complaints later on about them not punching as expected. Just my two cents. I get the idea of it, but I don’t think it’s going to work practically.

I’d prefer she keep pumping out all these awesome kits and page protectors vs. trying to get a company to manufacture a punch that will work consistently.

  17. Shiloh Fairbanks says:

    simply amazing!!!

  18. Elise says:

Wow, wow, wow. I’m super excited about the baby and childhood editions!! They look amazing and I can’t wait to get my hands on them.

  19. Katie says:

Just curious. Maybe I missed it. There are 100 cards. How many are title cards and how many are journaling. Thanks!

  20. Nancy says:

My newest granddaughter is 2 months old now and I am eagerly anticipating the girl baby kit’s arrival. She has twin brothers and on their first birthday I gave my daughter an 8×8 scrapbook for each of the boys that documented their first year and all of the “firsts” they experienced during that year. I’m excited about all the products that you’ve previewed during the last two days. Everything looks gorgeous and I can’t wait to see some of them in “real life”.
I just have one question. Would you ever consider producing the mini album as a ring binder with corresponding pocket pages? I am working on my first ever Project Life album documenting 2012 and I particularly love being able to insert the new, smaller pocket pages into my layouts as well as the envelope pages for memorabilia. That would not be possible in the new mini albums as they were shown in your video. Please don’t consider this a complaint but merely an inquiry. I love your products, your enthusiasm and your whole Project Life concept. I’ve never scrapbooked an entire year before, just specific events, and your products have made it so very do-able for me. Thank you Becky!!!

    • Belinda F says:

I’d also love to be able to swap and change the pages in a mini album, maybe with a postbound or ring binder album. Would also be great to have different arrangements of pockets in the mini albums eg vertical 4×6 photos, whole page of 3×4 pockets, other arrangements of 2 4×6 and 2 3×4 pockets.

I love using the smaller inserts in my 12×12 album to highlight special photos, so would be great to be able to do this in the mini ablums. It looks like the pages will be 9×8, so my suggestions for smaller pages would be and 2 4×4 pockets, 1 5×7 pocket and 2 4×6 pockets.

  21. I absolutely the mini cards but, most of all, I want a red mini album for my 2012 December Daily Album. LOVE.LOVE.LOVE

I also want to make a product suggestion: December Daily Mini Kit by Ali Edwards

Love your products, Becky! Always have and always will!

  22. Melissa says:

I vote for binder-rig stlye mini albums! Love the flexibility in the 12×12 size and would hate to be limited in my choices for a mini album (which would also be awesome for a big trip, or a wedding, or a holiday season….) I just think it would be neat to stay true to the PL stlye in the mini albums and keep with a binder ring. SO EXCITED for all the new products!! You do a FABULOUS job!!

    • Colleen says:

Another vote for having a ring option for the mini binders. I am thinking of so many uses for those albums and would hate to run out of room or maybe if you wanted to slip in a full-sized page protector…honestly I’d buy it either way. LOVE it all Becky. Thank you for evolving scrapbooking to the simpler side.

      • Belinda F says:

Love this idea Colleen – I was thinking about other arrangements of 3×4 and 4×6 pockets and didn’t even think of a full 9×8 page (or 8×8 page)!

  23. Carolina H says:

Love all the new products you revealed this week. My preference would also be to have ring mini-binder album along with corresponding page protectors (which could also be inserted into a regular 12″x12″ ring binder).
Mini kit concept is just awesome – I’d love to see theme mini kits on wedding, travel/vacation, Christmas, Halloween :)
    Awesome job!!!

  24. Mandy says:

I am more excited about these childhood kits than I have been about anything else that has come out this year! We homeschool, so I love the flexibility! I love that they can be worked in color wise with some of the current kits. Our family life is our school life, so I will be incorporating them into our main PL album(s), but to be able to highlight school things is so exciting!

Thank you so much for your vision and for your hard work!

  25. Kathy says:

BURSTING at the seams!!! Please, please, please try to get in time for Christmas. I would love to gift the items to my teenage girls so that we can each work on our own albums. They used to scrapbook with me at the age of 3 thru about 8, then the days became too busy for them to keep up. This would be a great gift at Christmas to start documenting their high school years. LOVE all of the reveals. Thanks to everyone for your hard work. Now, we just need the printers to start printing those products. I’ll be clicking the refresh button on Amazon until the appear in November. Enjoy a restful weekend and thank you again for such an exciting week of reveals. I love every new product.

  26. Natalee says:

I love the mini kits but even more excited for the MINI ALBUMS! I had been waiting and hoping for something like this:) These are so great for those of us who want to do memory keeping on a smaller scale. Thank you!

  27. Shalae says:

These are awesome and I’m so excited for them. The only question I have is are they going to be available for digital through Jessica Sprague like your others? I do all mine digitally and would LOVE to have these options available.

  28. Kristi says:

Love the mini kits and mini albums! Love the idea thrown out about a December Ali Edwards kit!!

I also love the idea of the mini albums for vacation albums and granny’s brag book! A step up from traditional photo albums…but less fuss!! I’m absolutely in love!!!!

  29. Holly says:

This week is blowing me away!!!

  30. Robyn Johnsons says:

Oh yes! Finally! I am more excited for these childhood cards than any other product. They are fabulous! I have a 22 year old (sad) and a 15 year old to catch up on. Also have a fun 9 year old who is excited to do her own project life album. Thank you! The mini albums are exciting too. I’m thinking vacation albums, a mini christmas album and special occasion (my parents 50th anniversary). You totally rock! (Both of you, Lori and Becky).

  31. Heidi says:

Oh goodness!!! i love the mini albums. I would love to have one and would think it would be awesome to do a christmas album with those. So that got me thinking … is there anything in the works for a Christmas or Holiday Mini Kit?????

  32. Aggie says:

I need to make budget for everything!
I hope you have more presented ideas about the new kits before its release :)

  33. Niki Moss says:

I am So so so so EXCITED! When do we get them??

  34. Ginny says:

Love, love the idea of the mini albums!!!

  35. Jennifer Kolakowski says:

Becky-i love Everything!!! I am quite sure you have enough on your plate, but i woul LOVE a mini kit for engagement /wedding/honeymoon. I’m sure these “theme” type mini kits are already a part of your vision. I am so excited about everything!! Thank you! Jen

  36. KristiG says:

Love all the reveals this week!

My vote for mini album colors (love this idea!!) is: red, turquoise, orange, navy & pink. LOVE the idea several others had to do a december daily in one of these mini albums! How many pages are there?

    Great job becky & lori!!

  37. sandy says:

Beautiful! I think i’ll be using these for the years prior to PreK (i use the old Becky HIggins school albums for my boys school years). Both my boys were in “school” since they were 1 and 2 years old. I have lots of school stuff for them for those years. These mini kits will be great for that. Cant wait to get them.

  38. Narelle says:

love the mini album idea and the thought of a december daily – how simple. My first thought was a family tradition album I have been trying to do, but I just never seem to quite get there. It would be so simple to do a mini album. Yay. I want one NOW!!!!

  39. Carol says:

I love this. My granddaughter is starting Kinder and this is perfect. I actually see taking all three and combining them. What fun!

  40. Joey says:

Love the mini kits for school… but feel like the kits are missing a big chunk of “childhood” years… like the toddler years… I’d love something that picks up where the baby kit finishes (age 1) and covers until school starts (age 5ish)… maybe its called the toddler years or the preschool years (but not so heavy on the school emphasis).

I like the new kits… think they’ll be great for school… but a tiny disappointed… not exactly what I was expecting. I have little kids (non-school age) and still feel a loss as to how to organize and scrapbook them.. was hoping that childhood kit tackled that. Yes, school is a big part of a childs life… but its not the only part.

A vote for a red december daily album… and the Baby kit was so amazingly awesome that helps with the tiny bit of disappointment from the childhood kits.

    • Fiona says:

I’m also disappointed that these childhood kits are more school kits than childhood. I’d love to see a mini kit for the early childhood years, with a focus on play. Hopefully that’s already on the drawing board?

I’d also love a red Dcember Daily mini kit/album!

  41. Melissa says:

RE: the “surprise” product …. there are similar products in stores such as Target (journaling near spine, photo at edge), so I would love to see perhaps a little tweak in the page protector design – although I do realize that there’s only so much room to work with. ;) Maybe a SQUARE instead of RECTANGULAR design would allow for this? I dunno. (??) As far as colors, I’d just be sure to include a couple of neutrals – maybe black, cream, grey or brown? That’s tricky. Glad that YOU are the experts!!! LOL …. I actually have so many new product ideas for you that it boggles my mind… but I think that you’re doing an AMAZING job. I’m so impressed!!! :-D HAPPY WEEKEND! ! !

  42. Jenny A says:

I’m so excited! Visions of ideas to capture the school years of my kids are just bursting!

  43. Andrea Raponi says:

Love the mini album, would be great gifts, I’m not picky about the color but I think a 3-ring (or 2-ring) design would be better. Post bounds are hard to keep flat especially if you are. Putting art work in there, think macaroni art. But I love them all, I’m going to go broke buying it all. Thx for being you, your awesome.

  44. Amanda says:

    love the mini kit idea!

  45. Tracey says:

WOW! Thse are such an amazing idea!!! Love the Childhood kits!!

And the mini albums are sch a great idea! Will they be available with different styles of page protectors as well??

  46. LauraP says:

I love these kits, and I love that they are MINI-kits! This would be great for my stuff growing up, and I don’t have one year-worth of photos of me. I’ll be able to get several years from one mini-kit!!! The great stuff just keeps coming! Good job, Becky and Lori!

  47. Viji says:

I am waiting for a toddler kit! I love the new releases!

  48. Wendy says:

These are AWESOME!!! I LOVE them all! I have been doing PL for 3 years now. I have a 15 yr. old and do a seperate scrapbook album for her, but after seeing these today, I’ve decided to take that BIG leap and do her album like PL. These mini kits are truly an amazing idea and if different themes are in the future, I’m on board!!! Your new mini albums are a great idea!! When you showed them my first thought was our vacation this year, one of those in blue would be PERFECT!!! You truly are AMAZING Becky!!! Thank you for all your hard work and ALWAYS thinking of us! Thanks to all your designers too, you have a great team!!

  49. Cydnie says:

As I was watching, I was thinking…wouldn’t it be neat if there were mini album pages to put these cards and kits in. I would use the mini albums for trips too. How great Becky, you are always a step ahead. Love the new designs and how they can be used along with the big project life kits too. Great additions to the line. I’m looking forward to more mini-kit action. How about travel mini-kits. Fun!

  50. EE K says:

Such amazing products! I want them all and I don’t even have kids :)

I would love to see the mini albums in all colors of the rainbows. They would be great for documenting vacations with project life.

  51. [...] announcements up on her blog this week, including designs by Elise Blaha (!), new baby kits, and new kits for kids. Hopefully these will all be available digitally too. Can’t [...]

  52. Carrie Alexander says:

Are you kidding me?!?!!! So amazingly fab I can’t stand it!! I can’t believe the timing; my son starts K in two weeks. Now my dilemma is: Do I purchase just one set for this year, or do I get a few to get me through all of grade school?!?! I love things that go together, but I am too excited for the upcoming mini kits to commit to making his grade school albums just one design. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don’t discontinue this concept 2-3 years down the road and leave us hanging!!!! (I know you won’t, but I has to say it!).

    • Michelle says:

I so agree, Carrie, I would hate to see this discontinued—I always fear getting part way done and my product I use goes away, it’s happened before with albums. So let’s all keep Becky in business! Shouldn’t be a problem. LOL!

  53. Sian says:

I’m considering going through my old photos from when I was younger and making a project life album with them – the Mayfield Edition would be PERFECT!

  54. Gwen says:

Absolutely loving the new kits. LOVE the mini album!!!

  55. Angela says:

Be. Still. My. Heart!!!! WOW!!! You thought of everything and I love the concept of the mini kit…that it works with all the PL stuff, so you could even use some of the components in a yearly PL album. I love that you have a BIG vision for all of this…you’re not content to just throw it out there and being done. I would still love to see a mini kit someday that is all about holidays…I know that can be a sticky situation being that you’re an international business.

Now, go spend some family time this weekend and take a good long nap!

  56. Annette says:

love these, so excited, i see Christmas gifts , i have grandchildren that just started school, love the albums with the kits, that makes a great gift, and i could make them for my kids too! so excited love the colors they in time with the colors that our in right now love, love, can’t wait need them now, OK i am a grow up i can wait, thanks for all the hard work and prays for your brother!

  57. Juli says:

This mini kit is absolutely fabulous!!!!!! I love how I can incorporate this mini kit into my son’s regular album!!! Going to have so much fun with this. Really hoping the kits become available by Christmas!!!!!! Thank you Becky and designers for all the work you put into this wonderful way of scrapbooking. I have totally changed the way I scrapbook…and I LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!!

  58. Kristin A. says:

Oh my goodness Becky and Lori! You ladies have outdone yourselves! These products fall exactly in line with the rest of Project Life products – versatile, stunning colors, fun patterns, easy to use, and like you said, Becky, being true “childhood” not just “school”. Don’t know why given the classic, beautiful design of all the Project Life editions and baby editions, I was still picturing red schoolhouses! Especially love the Mayfield and Bridgeport. And the idea of doing them as mini kits…genius! As for the little surprise at the end of th video – super cool! Black would definitely be a versatile and classic option. Great job, ladies! What an incredible week here on the blog, Becky!

  59. Stacy says:

The new mini kits are cute, and I don’t have kids. But…the mini albums are AWESOME! I love the idea of drop and go easiness of these cute books. They’d be ideal gift albums. AND they wouldn’t take years to complete. I’m smitten with the mini albums and can’t wait for their release. These are a great way for my husband and I to share photos with our elderly parents. Great product! Can’t wait to hear more!

  60. Ellie A. says:

Seriously I teared up with these collections I’ve been already weepy as my youngest is starting Kindergarten and can’t believe how time has flown but just thinking how I will document her school years and have the details that sadly and honestly have been missing for my boys because this is all here just for me and w/this system I know I will be able to document these special years for her. I just might go back and take what I already have for my boys and remake their books especially with my oldest entering HS this year and my youngest son going into 4th grade this year will be full of new 1st. Thank you so much for making it easier to capture these special memories.

  61. Stacy says:

One other thing I forgot to say – I can see these mini albums making very special recipe albums for family recipes. These really are great albums! Christmas is coming!

  62. Lara says:

Loving the mini kit/album idea! Are all the pages in the mini album for 4×6 horizontal photos? Could there be a mix of some that are 4×6 vertical?

    • Michelle says:

I’ve love to see pages in the mini album that allow vertical 4x6s too. I think I’d prefer these as 3-ring binders, not pages stitched in, so that they are more versatile. But I do get that the ones shown in the video are simple and that is good, too.

  63. Kris says:

Oh….Becky Higgins LLC….you will be the death of me!! Cannot wait to get my hands on all of these kits! I know what I am asking for for Christmas! :)

I wonder if I will ever make another traditional layout again??

  64. Becky says:

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! Can’t wait to get my hands on some of those!

  65. christen says:

i love the mini albums! i can see lots of possibilities beyond children (my youngest is 16 so i am mostly done scrapping kids pages). they could be used for vacation or christmas albums. great for a grandparents album too! thanks for all the inspiration this week.

  66. Laura says:

Mini album colors….BLACK and WHITE!! It will continue with the black for my son and white for my daughter PL albums I PLAN on doing!!

  67. WOW!!! This is SO INCREDIBLE!!! I am thrilled out of my mind with all of the beautiful, creative kits you have revealed this week!! I completely LOVE the idea of the mini kits and I’m so grateful that you started with CHILDHOOD. I am planning to use Bridgeport to incorporate into the 12×12 album that I’ve been working on for my 11-yo son, the way you have with Porter’s album, but I LOVE the idea of the mini albums, especially if you were to come out with TRAVEL and PET-themed mini kits in the future. I would totally use the mini albums with the mini kits for TRAVEL & PET. I also think the mini albums would make awesome grandparent gifts for use with the childhood mini kits!!

    Thank you SO MUCH, Becky!! Thank you for sharing all of those gorgeous sneek peeks and for developing such amazing products that make memory keeping so easy and beautiful. {big HUG}

    • Michelle says:

LOVE the idea of MORE MORE mini kit themes! YES YES!! I honestly think mini is going to be the wave of the future! LOL! ….I am in an online group of digiscrap friends, and we got together and traded PL card from different kits so we could have more variety. We all agreed we love variety and have even discussed the desire to just buy small packs of cards from the various lines. THIS MINI KIT way is exactly what we are looking for—can’t wait to see more of it!

  68. cindy b says:

Speechless. There are not enough words to describe the AWESOMENESS of these kits….seriously – NOT ENOUGH WORDS!!

  69. Kim says:

Your excitement has brought tears to my eyes this morning. I have followed your blog all week and I am super excited about all the new kits. I am making a list of everything I need to order as they become available. I adore the idea of the mini kits and the mini albums. I would love to see the mini albums as a binder so that we could add additional pages as needed. I could definitely see using those for capturing vacations and giving them to grandparents filled with stories and pictures of the grandkids throughout a year. I love your products and have been “doing” project life for 2 years now and have been able to get a few friends on the PL band wagon as well. Something I would love to see is an expandible 12 x 12 pocket with a snap closure (so better hold all the “stuff” that comes home from school). I also occassionally pick up my mother’s boxes of photos from the “old day” and these photos are all oddly shaped. I would love to see a few options for page protectors for these old heritage photos. Maybe a mini kit with a heritage theme?
Anyway, I am a huge supporter of your products and your passion behind Project Life…..thank you.

  70. Ahhh, love it! Can’t wait to get started on my daughter’s album…I was picturing more of a “school” theme too, but like your ideas as well…

The mini album idea? Genius, but wondering if perhaps there may be a “travel” mini kit for different types of destinations in the future…so many trip photos, so little time..would love for that to be considered! and I like another commenters idea..I actually tend to take a ton of vertical 4×6′s…you mentioned the pages are sewn in? I think I like the idea of being able to add different types of pages like the other album concepts?

Such a FUN week! Thanks for all of your (and the designers) hard work..now, to go print my pictures for my Project Life that I have KEPT UP WITH all year !!! Go me!

  71. thearthurz says:

These are amazing! Love the Mayfield, but they are all fantastic!

  72. Brandi Z. says:

Love all the new products – I want them all! I have the older school kit that you did a few years ago and I am up to 4th grade in it. I love this new childhood kit too, any suggestions on how best to marry them up since it’s already a work in progress?

  73. Scrapflicka says:

Yes please, I vote ring album versions of the mini albums too.

  74. Stephanie says:

Love this! I used your Sweet Baby Kit for both my boys and I was so excited watching the baby video because it looks so much easier but this video BLEW ME AWAY! Thank you so much for making this an option that works for every family lifestyle. We homeschool and I plan on documenting a year starting on my child’s birthday. I would love to see the mini kit line expand if it is received well. I can see myself using the mini kits and albums to document trips and special events. My son is a horseback rider and I could see doing a whole album of his lessons, horse clubs, and shows. I think this would keep the childhood album to cluttered and many people could use these albums to showcase an important part of their child’s passions whether it is sports, volunteering, drama, band, art…whatever. The size is perfect for documenting those important details without being overwhelming or making our yearly albums huge!

  75. Jean-Marie says:

YAY! I LOVE the mini concept—both in kit and album form! Looking forward to their arrival and for the development of even more themes in the line! Brilliant.

  76. Judy says:

You guys have seriously outdone yourselves on all these new products! My head is spinning with all the possibilities. I hope you can, in fact, get some well deserved rest, but after that, I would love to hear how all these kits will be translated into digital versions, both through Shutterfly and Jessica Sprague. Thanks for all you are doing to make memory keeping do-able!

  77. Betsy says:

What size is the mini album? Love the idea! I’ve been thinking of 8.5×11.

  78. gwyn b says:

i love the idea of the mini albums. i would like to give my daughter some kits and i think this size book would be an easy way for her to start. so many fun kits coming out !!!!!

  79. Rene says:

WOW! Becky you and your designers have BLOWN my mind this week. I don’t even know where to begin but I know I want all of the editions! They are magical :) Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to ensuring the amazing concepts and quality. As a new mom I have been able to almost fully document my daughter’s life (better than family and friends that haven’t caught on to Project Life.) Thank you for that because my memories are preserved and I owe it all to you for making such a great system.

I agree with Angela – enjoy a wonderful weekend with your family celebrating all your accomplishments and take as many naps as you want! You truly deserve it!

  80. Susan says:

Love the new kits! Especially childhood! Love all the prompts, so helpful if you are working backward and relying on memory.
I see a wedding mini kit! Cards in black and white, elegant designs.
Love how the mini kits are inspiring theme ideas!

  81. Amy McGrew says:

    BEAUTIFUL BECKY!!!!!
Love the album colors you showed in the video!!!!

Would it be possible to have a 3-ring mini album just in case you find you are needing more pages in it?????
    Just a thought!

  82. Susan says:

Love all of the new kits! Great prompts, so helpful when working backward and relying on memory!
I envision a wedding mini kit with black and white cards and elegant designs.
Love how the mini kits are inspiring themes!

  83. Samantha says:

Wow! I love the designs for the childhood kits. I even love that they are mini kits, it makes so much sense with they way you designed it. And mini albums! How fun! I have used mini albums in the past for gifts for grandparents.

Since you asked for thoughts, I would love to see a mini album that is expandable, so that I can add pages in as desired, and not be limited to the amount of pages that are in the book. I love that the mini albums are not ring bound, because I find that to be a little ugly, even though it is convenient. (I would especially love the large albums to NOT be ring bound) So, can you make albums expandable without rings? That would be the ultimate in best for me! Looks + Functionality!

  84. Lisa says:

    Hi Becky,
The kits are beautiful! I have been using your fist school kit for my kids’ albums and although I loved the concept, I actually dreaded putting them together every year because of the creative aspect that always stressed me out. I’m excited to now get a mini kit every year and just continue on with what I’ve been doing.

I did realize early on with the first school kit that the design for the Sr. year might not be a relevant/trendy design when my kids are actually seniors. I love the idea of a new kit every year so that you can see how the designs (what’s trendy) changed throughout their lives.

This will be my 1st Project Life purchase. I’m planning to get a mini kit and additional page protectors (I believe you offer a variety pack) to add to my children’s already 12×12 school binder.

    I’m very excited! Thank you!

    ps. Cute hair:)

  85. Amanda says:

Thank you so much for sharing so much wonderful goodness with us this week!!!!

I love the idea of the mini kit. We are still several years away from school so I am eagerly awaiting my baby kits personally :) I would like to echo the request/suggestion someone else made above…. how about mini kits for the holidays???? Pretty please???? I would guess that at least half of what I do in my scrapbooks is centered around holidays, vacation, birthdays- the BIG events that happen every year. As someone who came from traditional scrapbooking, I am really struggling with using my PL core kits for these memories. I find myself adding lots of papers, embellishments, and other things to those layouts to make them feel right to me and in the spirit of the occasion. I would love to have PL products to do that for me so that it is #1 easier and #2 cohesive from a design standpoint. I hate to ask for more after you have delivered a phenomenal amount of product this week (that we have all been begging… or nagging… about for so long), but I couldn’t resist planting the seed and putting the idea out there since the mini kit looks like the next really big thing for the future of PL.

  86. Amber says:

Becky, you are a ROCKSTAR!!! All these new products you showcased this week have left me absolutely speechless! I can’t wait to get my hands on those minis!!!

  87. Natalie Turetsky says:

As I was watching your video I began to get that dreaded feeling of being overwhelmed. How am I going to keep up with my current family project life album, a childhood album for each kid (I have 3 and am expecting a 4th) and a baby album for each kid?! I started to feel the anxiety building.

But then you revealed the big surprise at the end of the video. The MINI album. GENIUS. Especially for those of us who have 3+ kids.

When I used to do 12×12 traditional scrapbooks for each kid, I documented smaller things like each pregnancy separately in a mini album and loved the whole MINI concept. It’s quick easy and manageable.

However I feel that the sewn in pages may be a bit restricting. Perhaps a post-bound album or smaller version of the 3-ring albums you have now…to add a bit of versatility and for those things that don’t quite fit in a pocket. I’m sure you’ll think of something, but the whole MINI concept helped me BREATHE at the end of that video!

I just can’t imagine doing a 12×12 childhood album for each kid EVERY YEAR. That would just be too much. But now that I think of it, maybe each 12×12 album can consist of several years in each kid’s life. That’s an idea too…

  88. Michelle says:

You DID save the best for last!! The earlier reveals are not nearly as AWESOME (for me) as these Childhood Mini Kits. You nailed it with MINI—perfect! I don’t need a whole huge box of cards, but these are targeted and perfect! I’m so happy!

One *QUESTION*—are the sayings/prompts/graphics on these three different Childhood Kits different? I may get more than one but am wondering how different they are apart from color.

LOVE the mini book concept as well—love it! Thank you for this early reveal so that I can get thinking about how I want to approach my projects. I’d LOVE LOVE LOVE mini albums that match the Childhood Kits!!

  89. Mary Smith says:

I too was expecting more of a school theme, with primary colors and more of a whole kit with page dividers etc. This way would be easy to have their entire life not just school. I can tell a lot of thought has been put into it! Love the mini albums but would prefer to have rings so I can add pages or other things. Great job Becky!

  90. Kait says:

Wow Becky! The new products this week have blown me away!! All of the new products look amazing and I haven’t seen one that I don’t love! Very excited about the Childhood Mini Kits! Can’t wait to hear when they become available! Keep up the amazing and inspirational work!
*I’m off to work on my current album while my kiddo is at school! :)

  91. Emily says:

I just Love Love Love what you’ve presented all week! Just wish it could get here faster. :) I think the mini albums will be so fabulous. Is there any way to have a 3 ring binder version? I always steer clear of stitched in pages because they are so final and I like having the option to give or take on pages. So, so fun, though!!

  92. GAH! You’re killing me! These are awesome!!!! Hurry hurry to Amazon!

  93. kris says:

love the kits great job. I would prefer the albums to be ring albums with pages that offer variety (vertical /horiz) as the big 12×12 does.
    Album colors blue/red/yellow/

  94. Vanessa B. says:

I get it. I totally get it. When I realized there wasn’t going to be a “school” edition I was a teensy bit bummed but I trusted in you and your vision, Becky. As usual, you put your heart and soul into your product and you did not disappoint at all. I love it even more. Wow. The mini album is genius also. I started my son’s “School of Life” album with your original school kit and this way I can produce something a little different without redoing what has already been done. I think their are endless possibilities. And for the first time, I can see going back and capturing my childhood in a way that doesn’t seem overwhelming.

Can I please open a “Project Life” boutique in my town? It would be all the rage! You are changing the way people record their memories. I just love it. :)

  95. Taylor says:

awesome!!! this week has been so fun! i decided that I am going to just get black binders each year and then get 3-4 of these kits and just mix and match every year! i already have 3 kits and i cant wait to get both of the new 2013 and the wellington and the baby boy!! i do my book by the calendar year just as i want to, so for a bday i might do 3 pages but then i might do one page for a whole month, this is so perfect for the way i do my books… woo hoo!

  96. Brenda Reed says:

Becky – the Mini Kit is just what I NEED!! I have been so busy with “Life” and Project Life (which I love) has been a bit overwhelming for me to keep up with. This is perfect. Can’t Wait!!

  97. Melinda Harris says:

I am soooo excited to see the mini album. I would like to request “Turquoise”, “Sea foam”, “Light Gray”, Or “Light Green”. I did not care for any of the colors you showed.

    Thanks, Melinda
    Spokane, WA

  98. Jeannine Thompson says:

I have waited all week to see these kits! I am intrigued by the childhood kits and definitely by the mini albums. Like others, I would love to see the album be 3 ring so I can adjust the length and arrangement of pages. I would also love for it to fit 7 x 5 and 10 x 8 page protectors since so many of my kids’ photos and certificates come in those sizes. Looking at the page protector design you showed in the video, I am assuming the album is about 9 x 8. A 10 x 8 album would be great!

  99. Connie says:

What a great week such amazing products…Thanks for for sharing all your ideas with us and creating an easy alternative to traditional scrapping. I could never give up traditional LO’s but am loving incorporating all the different page protector sizes and kits into my albums. Thank you for sharing your video awhile back on tackling those stacks of school items. I have started going through my kids and loved seeing how Porter’s book looks in today’s video. Love the mini kit/album concept and I have never made a mini album for my family (just coach gifts). I can see getting some of the mini kits for my daughter going into middle school (who loves scrapbooking) for her to document her year! I should have her keep notes as she starts in a week so she can fill in when the kit comes in….Thanks Becky You are Awesome!!

  100. Laura Halmrast says:

I may have missed this but do you have the prices for the new kits and add-ons? I love the child add-on! Another question though. In the past I know you have done some of Crew’s baby book with your last baby kit and also some of Porter’s schooling with the old school kit. What are you doing with those layouts that you already completed?

Becky you rock and I love all your new ideas!

    • Jeannine Thompson says:

Great question! I think many of us have Becky’s older kits, and we would love to see how she combined the old with the new!

  101. Jennifer Smalt says:

LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!!!! Cant wait to purchase!!!

  102. Juliana says:

Where to start…This is so exciting!!!! I am so thrilled that I will be able to use these childhood kits for my homeschooling family! I love that I am not limited by generic school images. this is fantabulous! Mini albums? Stop it. I can send a mini album to my husband on deployment, and it will be small enough to fit in his locker, which essential, but he’ll still have room for photos, souvenirs, and a scan amount of journaling. perfect! Thank you thank you thank you :)

  103. Sandy L says:

OMG – thiese are adorable! I particularly love the Bridgeport version, but they are all “must haves”. I still have babies to scrap, even though they are 27 and 30 (and birthdays are soon). I would LOVE to sell these in my local area… there isn’t much here as far as practical scrap stores.

  104. Karen J says:

Hi Becky, I was wondering if there were any plans to offer a “mini kit” of the basic project life? I always end up with SO much left over after a year as I use a lot of photos. A smaller kit would be perfect!

  105. Birgit says:

I love the mini kits but at the same time I am missing the “SCHOOL YEAR KIT” how about offering a mini kit that includes Kinder through 12th grade title cards like the “monthly” 4×6 cards from the baby editions?

I just love numbers and loved the way it was done in the baby edition.

And Yes, a “TRAVEL” mini kit would be awesome, too.

Love the mini albums, too – would love “ring option” to “stiched otion” to be more flexible. As for colors I agree with Melinda Harris comment about colors and would add “clementine”, “cherry”, black, white and “kraft” (like the card stock)

    • Allison says:

YES! “School” cards for each year would make this soooo much better!

    • Tiffany H. says:

I agree, would love a mini kit for school that includes grade cards (kinder, 1st, 2nd, etc.) and more “school” type artwork.

    • Kristen says:

AGREED! Love the mini kits but PLEASE bring us Pre-K through 12 cards like the baby editions. I think when my children look back on their albums they would like a “year-by-year” theme. I can make my own, but yours will be so much better Becky and Lori!!! :)

  106. Mendi M says:

I am so thrilled with everything you unveiled this week! I could not be more excited! I know this sounds stupid, but I feel like you are talking to me! Saying ‘I’ve made it easy for you. Now go do it!’ I will be stalking your products page and Amazon!

  107. kris says:

Love the childhood kits …I have 2 boys to catch up on their school years. I am confused why this is a mini kit? Whats the future plans as I am committed to their childhood years. Not sure why this kit was made a mini?

  108. kris says:

Also would love the ring option for small album by far!

    • Missy G says:

I agree!! I don’t want to be stuck with the exact same layout for every single mini page! BORING! I’m also not a fan of the colors…

      • Miriam says:

I third the request for a 3 ring mini album – that way you can include certificates, team pictures etc.

If there is one that is classic/neutral to work for heritage photos, I think this is such a good size for a tribute / family tree (like for a wedding gift) etc.

  109. sandy says:

Hoping also that you’ll be making “sports” teamed mini kits. I’d love one for soccer.

  110. Allison says:

I am pretty bummed about this. I think it’s the very first time I’ve been disappointed by a Becky Higgins product. I was hoping for something to simplify my life with one kit (similar to the old School Kit), that would cover an entire childhood simply. I know each of these kits could potentially cover several years, but all of the cards would not be able to be used for each year (there is only one title card, etc. per kit). I don’t want to buy a kit each year for each child, and give them multiple albums someday, so that the title prompts I want for each year can be included. I’ve been soooo excited about this and am ridiculously sad that it’s not what I was hoping for/expecting. :(

    • Joelle says:

I totally get what you are saying, Allison. But for me, picking one style/idea for 12+ years of school is WAY too overwhelming. I love that I can use this style for one kid for a year or two (at a much cheaper price than a normal kit) and then update with a new color scheme as Becky comes out with more beautiful and stunning stuff for us.

  111. Debbie says:

I love the mini albums. I use 2 up albums for special family trips to hold all my photo memory’s. To have the card pockets for journaling will make it so easy to put my memory cards right with my pictures! A trip mini kit would be AWESOME!! Again I thank you for all your labor of love in providing such great products.

  112. Cynthia B. says:

FANTASTIC! These are some of my favorite things you’ve ever produced. Lori Whitlock is a rockstar!
Wellington is my fave…wish I’d had these when I was starting up my kids’ school albums, but the mini kits are flexible enough – and not a huge commitment to a whole set – that I could include pieces of these sets in their albums, even though my daughter is in 5th and my son in 8th now. Their school/childhood goes on…and I think this is a wonderful way to document it!
And thumbs-up on the mini-albums too! Great great idea and another wonderful enhancement to the PL solutions.
    Thanks, Becky and Lori!

  113. Lynda says:

Love the mini album idea. My daughter is going to be a Freshmen in High School and I can see one album per year! Can’t wait for it to be available.

  114. Paula Oamen says:

seriously! does it get any better, you have read my mind!!! So excited to get these, one child in school, one 2 years away! Baby kits and then these I am set! love your scanned art to 3X4 pockets, way to get all those pieces of work in an album. Love all the prompts too!! A hit once again Becky and team!

  115. Lindsay says:

LOVE!!! I want lots of those mini albums! My oldest starts Kinder next fall so perfect timing!!! Thank you!

  116. Rachelle says:

I love your vision and the variety of products you are offering that take the headache and stress out of documenting life. I love the concept of these kits and while I love the colors and designs of the kits being offered, I would love to see a chidhood kit offered as a supplement to each of the core kits that have already been designed. I have purchased core kits to create albums for each of my kids, and I would love to intersperse bits and pieces of the childhood kit into the core kit and it would be great if those “bits and pieces” could coordinate with what I’m already using.

Childhood Kit – Turquoise Edition…sounds fabulous doesn’t it???

I’m sure some of the childhood kit designs will go with the already existing core kits, but I don’t have a designer’s eye and I never know if I’m choosing something that really coordinates or not. Having a specific supplement to a kit I have already purchased would take the guess work out of it and make it way easier. Thanks again for providing some more amazing products!

  117. Julie Mangold says:

I have been using your pages to do a family history album. I love the various sizes of page protectors as I have several 5×7 and 8×10 photos so it makes it easy to include them. Would you consider a mini kit geared to the family history theme? Do you have one in the works. Love the new product. Wish I had been able to have it when my kids were little. They are now 35 and 38 so it is a little late for them, but I love the product anyway.

  118. Monica says:

These new products are awesome! I am one of those intimidated people, so the mini albums look like a perfect product for me. But I want to try it all. Thank you so much!

  119. Kathryn says:

Great products!! I can’t wait for the mini album and baby editions to be available! I would love minis in black and white. I will probably still do the picture a day for my children (3rd year and waiting for baby for #2), but the minis are great additions! Thank you!!

  120. Michelle says:

The mini albums would be great for mini kits like holidays, vacations, and family heritage etc. Congrats to all!

  121. Val Irwin says:

Love, love, love it, all of it. I was especially excited about the mini album. I was just saying to a friend yesterday that I wish there were smaller albums offered (I thought maybe 10×10 but 9×9 looks great)!! My only thought was… maybe a ring version? it would be nice to be able to add some of the other page protectors in for different sizes of photos/artwork. As usual, Becky and team, you are an inspiration. Can’t wait for the new products, I would order them this second if I could.

    • KathleenB says:

OH YES! A ring version would be great! I’m not a big post-bound lover. I like the versatility of adding pages without the hassle of unscrewing those posts!

    • Angela Hidlebaugh says:

I would also like to see a mini ring album…not sewn-in pages. I like to be able to add or move pages around easily. The minis would work well for my younger kiddos to have there own albums too. Thanks, Becky, for listening to our requests. :)

  122. Angela Hidlebaugh says:

I am sooo unbelievably excited!! This is so perfect!! I am happy not to see just school stuff in these kits. I home school my kiddos, so, this is such a better fit for our family than any other paper or kits out there. Plus, like you have mentioned, a child’s life is not just about being in school…there is so much more to document. I think you and Lori have done an awesome job with these childhood kits. I’m in love!!

Thank you so much (Becky, Lori, and everyone with Becky Higgins) for all of your hard work! It is very evident!

  123. Katie says:

I am a bit confused. I keep readying references in the comments to a mini album.I never heard Becky mention mini albums and can’t find it in her post either. I thought the mini kits were meant to use in a large childhood album to cover 1 year of a child’s life. Did I miss something? Not to say they couldn’t be used to make a mini album. After all, “Project life can be anything you want it to be.”

  124. Katie says:

OH… I just rewatched the end of the vidoe and found out about mini albums…..Somehow I missed it when I watched before work this AM.

  125. Chrystal says:

While this was not at all what I was expecting, I’m sort of excited about it! I was wondering if you could share a little bit about how to transition from “baby” kit to “childhood” kits. My baby is 9 months old, and I am thinking ahead to how to transition from his first year book to a childhood “theme.

Also, I assume these will all be available digitally as well?

Thanks Becky! As always, you’re inspiring!

  126. Alissa H. says:

    I. Can. Not. Wait! for these new mini kits! I love them. Are the prompts the same in each kit? Regardless of design element changes? I have three kids and I’d like to use the same prompts in each of their albums but still have the elements look different.

I think the mini album is BRILLIANT. Please make at least one permanent neutral color like black or chocolate brown. Some of us like them to all look the same on the shelf regardless of “in” colors of the year.

I think your practical memory keeping is just the best thing since sliced bread. Thanks!

  127. Tara Mosier says:

I LOVE all of it. I really like the idea of the mini album too, the only thing I wish it would have were a few larger pages for actual artwork or 8×10 school photos. But for simplicity, it’s great. I’m working on my first project life right now and plan on doing a school album for my daughter who just started Kindergarten, so good timing!

  128. KathleenB says:

OMGoodness! Awesome! Was just thinking the Childhood editions would be great for some of my nieces who love to always be documenting their lives in photos. Now with your little announcement at the end, those mini albums and a Childhood mini kit just went on my Christmas list for each of my nieces. Too fun! Hoping they will be out for Christmas!

  129. Erin McGlone says:

Very excited about this! Thanks for all of your hard work Becky & Lori!!

  130. Missy G says:

I’m excited for these! On the mini albums- any way of having a 3-ring option? I’d hate to be committed to the same layout on every page because they are sewn in. And the simplicity is great, but there are times when I want to get fancy schmancy and having more options would be great!

Also not a fan of the colors. At all. Please add some more vibrant colors, teal, grey, turquoise, a peacock blue, a cherry red, apple green…all things we expect from the regular binders…also instead of them being leather or whatever they are…for the animal rights activists/vegans that avoid all animal products maybe something similar to whats out now. That also helps with funner color saturations!!

  131. Laura says:

I’ll keep it short and sweet :-) Thank you for the childhood editions (rather than school editions). We homeschool and this makes it all the more marketable for alternative schooling options. The mini albums…Yessss! love those! Even love the current color selection…I’m holding tight to my Amazon gift card until the goods become available ;-) Thanks for all the hard work and thought you and your staff put into all these beautiful products.

  132. Katy says:

The mini albums are awesome. Love that. Perfect for yourself or gifts. Don’t know if others suggested it – - – the colors you showed already are great, but perhaps ones that span the “baby” color spectrum would be great too. Extra cards from the baby kits can be used to create just a 1-2 picture a month idea or a mini album of baby for Grandma, or whatever! Really, really love the idea of the mini albums – basically, offer a few more colors, dark to light, and it will be even better!

  133. Erin says:

I am soooo disappointed. I’ve been waiting for years for this school kit…and it has nothing to do with school. Going to go look for another solution…super bummed.

    • Melissa says:

With all due respect, what are you talking about. Did you WATCH the video? (all of it?) There’s cards for teachers, field trips, places to put what grade they are in.

  134. Sara Grafton says:

All three editions are awesome, and I love that they are mini kits!!! As the mom of a little boy, I love the Bridgeport & Wellington editions.

  135. Taniesa V says:

Everything announced this week has been AMAZING! I Love the idea of the mini kit concept to integrate within my family and my children’s albums. The ONLY thing that I would like to see slightly different is that the mini albums be a two ring binder style. This would allow not only to use the amazing plastics in the mini album but you could also use the same size plastics in a 12×12 album like we do with the smaller plastics you already had released. the more interchangeable the products are the better!

Thank you, Becky, Project life has allowed me to scrapbook again now that my life is so busy and I didn’t have time for how I used to scrapbook. Your product line has and will continue to preserve so many family memories. <3

  136. Alida says:

These PL kits just keep getting BETTER! (Though I’m still a big fan of the Turquise kit). I’m almost too scared to do a backdated year now, who knows what you’ll come up with next year? I only have about 7 years of digital files to PL, and already that many kits I want. :) LOVE these mini kits.

  137. I loved the week of reveals (and I watch all the videos!). This is so fantastic! I love the new editions you’ve revealed (seafoam, olive & all 3 of the baby editions) but I think I LOVE LOVE these childhood mini kits!! Can’t decide which ones I want. Can’t wait for them to be released.

LOVE project life! It has made my life so much easier!

  138. Love Love LOVE all the new products!! And especially the Mini Album!!! Love the colors…but pastels would be nice too. (just because pink is my favorite color…haha) I can’t wait to place my first order with Project Life!!!

  139. Tiffany H. says:

Thanks for all your hard work (and everyone at Becky Higgins LLC)! I have loved the reveals and videos this week.

Still not sure about the childhood mini kits (was hoping for more “school” themed art/journaling cards to be included) but will wait to see how people use them once available. The mini albums are going to be perfect for documenting vacations, big events, maybe December Daily. I would love to see basic colors and some “trendy” colors (red, black, white, navy, turquoise, gray, lime green, peacock blue). I *so* love the idea of the mini kits and hope you’re planning vacation/travel, sports, wedding…I can go on and on–there are so many ideas for mini kits!

  140. Deirdre says:

What a week of anticipation. I’m one of those who bought and LOVED your school kit with CK way back. Now I have more children and have been eagerly anticipating the childhood kit. It is gorgeous. I admit I’m disappointed because I also loved your previous kit and was hoping for something similar to it. Thankfully, Project Life is so adaptable to people’s styles and tastes, and I know I’ll be able to use these cards and still mix in layouts similar to the old style too.

I second (or more like 100th) the idea of an Ali Edwards Advent/December Daily mini kit! Also love the mini albums for travel memory keeping.

I’m a newborn photographer in our small town, and can’t wait to share your new kit with my clients!

  141. Rachel M says:

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE ! Can’t wait to use these designs. I’m also very excited about the mini albums. They will be perfect for several ideas that are already swimming in my mind – sports and activity albums for the kids, kids doing their own album, teacher/teaching/classroom ideas, holiday albums, vacation albums, going away albums…..it could go on and on. The point is, yes, please make the mini albums ! Sometimes, I don’t want or need a huge 12 by 12 album when I want to document something. Thank you Becky ! Also, random comment – about the 3×4 punch you once polled us about – All of your 3 x4 cards are rounded, if you do decide to make a punch (which I hope you do), I think it should be in keeping with your designs and also have rounded corners.

  142. Katie says:

So I am super excited about the products, and think that they will be great for my kiddos. But I am very bummed that there wasn’t a remake/update of the old school kit. I was just so excited to think that I could have one set school album for each kid that covered each grade so they could have a binder specific to school. I know I can still make it, but was looking forward to creative prompts for each grade and cards already made to highlight whatever year they are in. Besides that big let down, really excited for all of the new stuff!

      • Jeannine Thompson says:

I agree. I like what was presented, but I really wanted a PL version of the old school kit that would either compliment it or stand on its own. I know that I can use the childhood kit to do that, but I was looking for something with more specific prompts to age or grade, similar to the new baby kit.

  143. Lauren says:

I am so excited about all this but i have to echo a few others’ questions about transitioning from the baby scrapbook to the childhood. This new mini kit seems more geared towards school aged kids, with the lunch prompts and places to hang out prompts. My son is 1. What suggestions do you have for transitioning in years 1-3 (after “baby” album but before preschool/school albums)? Help! :)

    • Melissa says:

I just spotted this on the FB page, posted by Becky’s team:

Great suggestion for a toddler mini kit. I have added that to Becky’s running list of future products to consider developing. :)

      • Gen says:

I love the idea of a toddler kit!

When deciding on the toddler kit color scheme could you consider coordinating with the toys that toddlers/preschoolers play with. I have lots of photos of my children with bright colors in them eg. Duplo, Fisher Price toys, Lamaze baby toys, Barbie and associated cars/house, Thomas the Train Engine, outdoor playground equipment, swimming toys etc.

I would love to see a kit with primary colours – tomato red, bright yellow, royal blue with green, orange, Barbie pink and white/black in there too. Mayfield I guess comes close. I love the Miss Tina free printables but would love to be able to just purchase a kit. Thank you!

        • Jenny B. says:

Yes, I totally agree. Almost all of my layouts end up using Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green. That’s what my kids wear and all their toys are always in the background. I have a few digital PL products, but the colors just don’t work as well, so I typically use other digital kits that have these colors.

  144. TERRI says:

Becky, this stuff is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited about the new product and as a digital scrapbooker, I am hoping everything is coming in digital format! (I think you said it all is, but I’m just making sure)

SUCH hard work went into this dream of yours that is now a reality. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to document our journey in this life! Hugs to you!

  145. I am excited about the mini albums, because quite frankly, the 12×12 PL intimidates me. We’re a couple, were unable to have children, and I started out doing weekly 2 page layouts like everyone else, and I just couldn’t seem to fill the pages. Got very frustrated and quit early on. But I love the thought of PL — KWIM? I could see myself filling a mini album much easier, but I’m with the others — I dont know that I like the idea of having sewn in pages. I like to be able to change up the 4×6 to 6×4, etc. Thats why I’m thinking I’m going to try another 12×12 album using the G pages. Not quite so much to fill.

As for the mini kits, I think they’re adorable. Easy to include into an existing PL album or do a separate one. Easy for even those of us with out our own children, but with children that we love to use. Maybe I’m alone here, but my children are my dogs — I would love to see you come out with a pet themed mini kit, for those of us with fur babies. Travel would also be awesome. Thanks for all you do, Becky!!

  146. Nicky from Okotoks says:

Oh My Goodness – I am so excited – especially about the 2nd surprise at the end of your video!!!!
    Amazing – amazing – amazing!!!!
You guys have been busy. Cannot wait for the baby kits, the childhood kits, and may invest in a few of those mini albums. Have to start saving now – as have been on one income for almost 3 years since we got our boys service dog – but this is so worth saving for!! so so so exciting

  147. Robin says:

I love this childhood kit! What a great idea! I also love the mini albums. I’d vote for some girly colors for the albums. Also, just wondering if you’ve thought about those years in between 1 year old and preschool. I have a 1 year old and I’m not sure which line would work for her. Thanks and way to go on the great products. Can’t wait! :)

  148. Natasha Peters says:

Becky, I am so grateful for what you are doing!! Excited doesn’t come close to the feelings I have!!! I have your school years kit from CK for each of my kids, and I am so glad you kept the childhood mini-kits MINI!! I am going to use the school kits and the childhood mini kits to create albums for my kids! I am beyond pumped! You have simplified, you have inspired, you have lit my passion for scrapbooking on fire! And thanks for sharing your own personal pictures as you put your new kits to use, that was inspiring as well! God bless you for helping all of us document the lives He has given us. Thanks for following your passion and allowing us to be blessed by your passion and gifts. Truly appreciated!

  149. Cady Behles says:

What an amazing week, thank you Becky! I adore the mini-albums, so much less intimidating, and the primary colors are great for all kinds of projects. I hope you can target the end of year for all these great new items so that I can include them on my holiday wish list. As a mother of 2 boys, who also has a full-time job outside the home, Project Life is HUGE for me . . . THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

  150. Connie says:

I cannot WAIT! This is perfect to document mine and DH’s childhoods since we have close to nothing done (just finally able to get some pictures from relatives). Now all I can do is cross my fingers that a mini kits might also include a wedding kit or two in the future.. I LOVE the idea of prompted cards/design card cambo and hope they would be in a wedding kit as well. Not that you have anything to do ;)

  151. Tiffany says:

Sometimes you make us wait for things, but it is always, always, always worth the wait. Love the new products…..can’t wait until November!

  152. Kathy says:

I love the mini kit / album idea. I would love to see mini kits for travel and pets. Thanks Becky!

  153. Sabrina M says:

I love the mini kits and I would love to see more of those like the core kits or other baby ones. I love the mini albums and those are perfect for me and I will def get a ton of those and anything else that comes along. Happy Girl

  154. kYLIE d says:

Oh WOW,how to choose from all these lovely little delights!Love Love Love, hope they are coming to New Zealand:-)

  155. Nicky from Okotoks says:

Have you ever thought of geneology kits or family heritage kits?? OOOHHH that just gets my heart pumping since I have been working on generations forever.

  156. Stephanie says:

I love the mini albums and see so much potential with those. (especially travel and gift ideas). Perfect for a week in your life scrapbooking as well.

In regards to the childhood kits, I was wondering how you integrate your kids classroom scrapbooks that you do in the class with the childhood scrapbooks. Our school does something similiar but on a larger scale and so I find that I have 2 books for each year and repetitive info.

Thanks for continuing to inspire and motivate us to cultivate a good life and capture it!

  157. [...] cool way to memory keep and I’m SO excited about the new products coming out.You can go HERE and HERE to see two videos that Becky put out this week. Here are a few photos of the new product [...]

  158. JC says:

Love it, Becky! All of it! The mini albums are a fantastic idea!
Big, big kudos to Lori — all of the designs are beautiful!

  159. Ashley C says:

Love the new kits. And the new mini album. Could you include a pocket page in the mini album to hold things that wouldn’t fit it in the page protectors.

  160. Kay says:

would love the mini kits to be available for all the core kits. The mini albums I would love to see them correspond in the bright beautiful colors of the kits. I love the seafoam and the cherry….see where I’m going with this? :)

  161. Cheryl :) says:

LOVE IT!!! Will have to practice patience ’til they become available!!! Thank you Becky and Lori!!!

  162. Caroline says:

Mini Christma kits with mini albums sounds awesome!!

  163. Cyndee says:

    EEEEEK! Love these!

I am praying you all will come out with a mini travel kit – those mini books look perfect for scrapping special trips!

Love watching Project Life grow and expand. :)

  164. Susan says:

Super love the mini books! However, when you mentioned the pages are already sewn in, a little air went out of my balloon. I am “married” to using albums with removable pages (ring binders) and the FLEXIBILITY that this allows. Don’t know that I would seriously consider an album without that feature – even though I know that with you designing it, there MUST be a reason the album was designed this way.

Can’t wait for both the baby and childhood products to be available!! Already getting my photos and albums ready now.

    • Laurel says:

GREAT JOB! The mini kits are awesome. I second the votes for a ring style in the smaller size and smaller removable plastics instead of the pages sewn in. (You’ve shown us how nice that flexibility is!) And I love the idea of a Christmas mini kit ala December Daily. It would be fabulous!

      • Joelle says:

And I will third this. My thought was actually that I think I could get my 17 year old into the idea of scrapbooking with a mini-album — but she is an avid-instagramer… so I’d want her to have pages to insert that included the square spots — like the new plastics you just came out with… :) And yes, love the Xmas and the travel book ideas!

    • Steffb says:

Same here…ring binders! Or at least plastics this size. I love to mix page sizes and products and would love to mix it up with other plastics designed for 6×8 binders. Would still love to see an 8.5 x 11 set even though I know how hard it is to get the pictures and cards to fit the odd size. But I think sewn-in sleeves would be too limiting.

  165. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! What you have done is well worth the wait! Tears in my eyes…THANKS!

  166. Jenny Whiting says:

These are all so beautiful! So many fun colors and designs. I love it! My one BIG question is what we should do with the school year kits that you made several years ago? I was so excited when they came out and I was worried if they would sell out, that I bought FIVE of them, even though I only had 2 kids at the time. Haha, wasn’t sure what the future would hold. Anyway, so I still have them and have been trying to have the kids fill them out although I haven’t been very good at it. I don’t really want to see them go to waste (and sadly at least two of them were recently destroyed in a flood we had in our basement). Are you going to still use the pages you already made for Porter from that kit with what you’re now doing? Wishing I hadn’t bought five of those kits back then and had just waited for these ones. I love that you can buy just one year at a time now.

    • Kate says:

      Hi Jenny

I would like some of the old school kits!

      I live in Sydney, Australia.

      What do you think?

      Kate

      • Amy says:

I also have the old school kits. I’m going to incorporate these new cards & the pocket pages with the old kits. I don’t want to waste the old kits or ruin what I’ve already done. I think they’ll work good together.

  167. Melinda Higgins says:

Everything is so fantastic, truly inspired. :) . Love y’all, congrats!!!!!

  168. Micki says:

I couldn’t be more excited about these mini kits! They’re perfect for what we need. I’m thinking each of my kids might get their own kit for Christmas, how fun!

I can’t wait for the digital editions too, so many choices!

  169. Kristine says:

    Looks great.
Would prefer smaller album with 3 ring binder and different page inserts as 12×12
Mini kits would work in travel and sports
Another childrens kit come out early 2013 so we can complete school years for our children since this one is a mini

  170. Jen V. says:

LOVE these!! I really like the idea of a mini kit, especially when it comes to scrapbooking for kids. I also love all the designs you’ve shown us over the last couple of days – such awesome colors!

I’m wondering if there will be a mini kit geared more toward toddlers. This is just my impression from watching the videos, but it seems like the baby edition is for the first year, and many of the prompts in the childhood editions have to do with school. My request is that there be a mini kit for those years before school starts…whether the child is staying at home with a parent or family member or at a babysitter’s or in daycare.

Again, great stuff! Can’t wait to get my hands on the new products for all the special little people in my life!!

  171. Jenny says:

I didn’t read all the comments, but the mini album is a great idea. I’m thinking about gift albums and what about Christmas? I tried a December Daily and it got a little overwhelming (even though i love Christmas and the whole prepping for it). How great would it be with Christmas designs and journalling to just slip in with pics?!

    So excited for you!

  172. Sheryl says:

Love the childhood kit! I watched your video a few months ago and I just recently puchased a bunch of the new page protectors and I’ve started an album for my son’s nursery school and JK years. I am excited to use the childhood kit for his Senior Kindergarten year. Thanks for the tip on scanning the art as well!

  173. Yvonne Gronau says:

The childhood kits are incredible, amazing, wonderful and so many other words like that. This week has been so much fun and I thank you, Lori and team for all the work you’ve done! The mini albums make me very excited and I already have a few ideas of what to use them for. Thank you!

  174. Kandi says:

Becky, I love the Mini Albums /Mini kits idea.
Have you ever thought of creating a Holiday theme?? What a fun idea.
The ideas are endless. Thank you for inspiration to keep scrapbooking.

  175. Stephanie watson says:

I love the kits, everything from this week. I have two thoughts though.
    1) I agree with others that I would love to have the mini albums be 3 ring so we could add a mini envelope to it, or have one added to the current design.
    2) I admit that in my OCD world that I like things to be matchy matchy for a given year. I’d love it if there were mini childhood kits for each of the core designs, or add core designs to each of the new mini kits, that way a whole year could be done and have it all match.

All that being said, I love everything this week and I don’t know how I will choose what to buy when the time comes.

Thank you to your entire team for all of the effort put forth. It is all so amazing and just so wonderful.

  176. Christine says:

It all looks very cool. My thoughts: 1) 3 ring mini album 2) Christmas mini kit 3) travel mini kit 4) teenager kit. I’ll be saving up for te November GO date! Also have to say again how happy I am your products are now US based manufacturing.

    • Juile says:

Can I just add “seasonal” mini-kits too – colors/patterns of nature for winter, spring, summer and fall. That would be AWESOME.

  177. Marianne {Sydney, AUS} says:

Becky, thank you for releasing so many NEW and fantastic products! Am so excited to finally get stuck into documenting my daughters’ lives!

Just an idea for future developments…would it be possible to create A4 (21cm x 29.7cm) size page protectors? In Australia our paper size is slightly larger than 8.5×11. I’ve been trimming my documents to fill these page protectors…but there are things like my daughter’s certificates from school that I’d hate to cut. Would be great to have A4 pages that u can simply insert documents into without having to cut!!

Love all the new products…and have told hubby that I’m buying myself quite a large Christmas present this year…baby kits, school kits…I’m excited!!!

    • Mel says:

      Hi Marianne,
I just use the Marbig A4 document protectors and their fine to hold the kids certificates etc in the PL albums

  178. Dawn says:

I’m loving all the “reveals” so far! The kits are beautiful! I’m hoping, though, that there may be some more variation in kit colors coming? I feel like virtually every kit revealed has been some variation of orange, aqua, pink, green and yellow (which are also very similar to the color pattern of the Clementine edition).

I adored the rich jewel tones of the cobalt kit that year and would love to see a little more variety in the color palettes! How about some “regular” blue or purple or red? Pretty please?

    • Julie says:

I completely agree. The current kits are all beautiful, but cobalt is my favorite for the reasons above. I keep waiting for some more mainstream color palettes – maybe inspired by nature??? I love purples, pinks, blues and greens too!!!

      • Steffb says:

I know it’s childhood and not school, but popular school colors would be cool too. My kids’ uniforms are forest, maroon, and pale yellow, I have so many pics with those tones it would be cool to have some matching cards etc. Khaki, navy, white is popular too…

  179. Andrea g says:

Like the overall idea. I really wish you would change from boy/girl/neutral to more of just a neutral with mixing and matching everything. Having 2 boys I don’t want them to be the same but I’d like a splash of color too.
I do like the mini albums.

I would love to see a travel mini album too.

  180. Paty says:

I cant believe there is gonna be a mini albun! it’s mydream come true! I don’t like the 12×12! ohmy, i gonna cry! Becky its great!

  181. Rachel M. says:

oh. my. stars. The mini album just blew my mind. Seriously…didn’t see it coming and now my head is spinning with ideas!!!

I love, love, love the childhood kits. My oldest is starting kindergarten on Tuesday and I’ve been hoping and hoping you would announce your childhood kits in time for me to start planning. LOVE them. Now I have to figure out which one to buy….(or buy all 3 and mix and match????).

I was feeling very bummed earlier this week that I had already scrapped my children’s first year when I saw the baby kits and the fabulousness that they are. Then I remembered my sister in law is pregnant and I think I now have the PERFECT gift for her.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Becky. I always felt I was not a “scrapbooker”…not a fan of glitter or cutting, etc. But you have opened my eyes to memory keeping and it has been life changing.

Thank you for all that you have done for us. I suspect it has meant late nights and take out dinners and laundry piling up….but what you do is a gift and a blessing and I can not thank you enough.

  182. Irene says:

OH MY!!!!!! LOVe, lOvE, LoVe it all. I see mini Travel kits and Christmas kits in the future… Don’t forget Thanksgiving and Summer vacation too! Ah, the excitement!!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!

  183. Jane F. says:

This is the most amazing idea. I think you should come out with new childhood kits each year as well so that we could do each year in a different kit (or have our child do that- loved that idea). I also love the mini albums- those would make great gift ideas for grandparents. I’d also love to see an album for grandparents to use to record their memories for their grandchildren.

I am so excited for the kits and the mini albums to come out!!!

  184. Mel says:

Love theses mini kits. Very convenient that there are three designs, one for each of my kids. I can totally see how I can use these with the PL core kits I already have for them. I think a family heritage kit for all the old photos would be great too.

  185. Tanya says:

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! The new mini books! I don’t have children, so I’m hoping for future product releases that are basic like how you have the core kits now, will definitely be worth the wait….OH, and I can’t wait!!!

  186. Joelle says:

Love everything this week! And as a random funny thing — we have three young children. It’s sometimes a pain as the “world” is set up for families of four (tables at restaurants, lots of cars, family passes, etc.) But I’m SUPER EXCITED that I don’t have to CHOOSE between the three baby kits and childhood kits. I’ll just get them ALLLL!!!!! WOOHOOO!!!

  187. Denise says:

Love all the new releases!! The Mini kits are fabulous! How about a “Love” themed kit, for wedding/engagement or a special anniversary? Can’t wait to stock up on all these great new products!!

  188. Gaby says:

Although this is my first comment on this reveal, I have seen it all here and on FB and am loving every single design! down to the mini album surprise… I am thinking for my Vacations or specific super meaningful events where I find it hard to choose just one picture… these mini albums are just perfect!!

  189. silvia diaz says:

mind blown. it’s all like, whoa.

  190. Marie-Pierre says:

As I already said about the baby kit, this is something I was waiting for, without knowing it. ;) I was already thinking I could do the same with the “regular” project life kits….. but I started the project-life-album-one-week-at-a-time-kind of album and didn’t go for my baby’s album with the same products….now I have a perfect opportunity to make it happen! So happy that you are there for making these products happen. :) Thank you!

  191. Donna B. says:

LOVE! I’m so excited, I want these products RIGHT NOW! How will I be able to wait?? Hurry!

  192. Natalie says:

I love it all!!! I want it now.

  193. mom2triplets04 says:

Love the mini Albums and mini kits. Just hope it’s affordable.

  194. Lisa Hull says:

I love the mini kits and the mini album!

It would be great if you could do a travel theme in the mini kits format.

  195. Anne says:

I’m supposed to be studying, so naturally I gave your color question a lot of thought :)

The first thing that came to mind for me was that I’d do a mini-album for a specific event – say, a girl’s weekend or a holiday – and the missing piece in the colors for me was something really bright and chic. Maybe a pink, turquoise, lime, or lemon.

Otherwise I adore the idea! As soon as this stupid LSAT business is done I’m starting my first Project Life – it’s a great motivator to study hard.

  196. Juile says:

I love all the new releases! So amazing. Mini-kits are GENIUS!

I’ve already added a few comments about a wish for “seasonal” mini-kits reflecting the colors/patterns of nature: one each for winter, spring, summer and fall.

I love, love, love the line-up of pocket pages. Just one or two more would make my [Project] Life complete:

    1) 6 VERTICAL 4×6 pockets. Think Design C rotated 90 degrees. or….
    2) 3 VERTICAL 4×6 pockets and 2 HORIZONAL 4×6 pockets

For vacations and holidays and special events, I often have WAY more photos than journaling and I just want all my pictures in one place without having to think too much about resizing to the 3×4 size. Print and go! Quick and easy!

I know I would also use 9 4×4 pockets for those instagrams and also vintage photos (that are in a smaller size).

Thanks so much. You have revolutionized scrapbooking. I’m happy to be along for the ride.

  197. Paula Barber says:

Thank you so much for adding a mini-album to the Project Life product line! We are homeschoolers and I have wanted to use Project Life as a way to teach my young ones about journal keeping. A full, empty page in a blank journal can be overwhelming to young kids that aren’t ready to write lengthy entries. Your cards are the perfect, non-overwhelming size to write one or two sentences. And now they will have an album just their size as well! I cannot wait! Thank you, thank you!

  198. Sharon Holesh says:

Will there be binders to match the Baby Editions?

  199. Jennifer Johnson says:

I could cry, I love these mini kits so much! Thank you! I think the mini albums would be great gifts for grandparents!

  200. Tamara says:

Have been wanting to beg for 8.5 x 11 pages and albums! (LOTS of us don’t really have the room for big 12 x 12s). Love the idea of smaller albums. Hoping the pages will be removable, and some of the other smaller plastics could be used with them as well.

Will some or all of the new kits eventually make their way to the digi store at Jessica Sprague, and join the others? Pleeeease!

Can’t wait for the new stuff to arrive. What a bounty of goodness – great job to you and the design gurus.

  201. Carolyn Ray says:

LOVE the mini kits, oh the possibilities:)
By the way I have 2 original baby kits still in the box available if someone would be interested in purchasing them? 1 boy & 1 girl.
You can reach me at carolyn.a.ray@gmail.com.

    Carolyn from Kitchener ON

  202. Melissa says:

Will these be available digital thru Jessica sprague? Also love the Heather Bailey font. Could you tell us where that is from?

  203. Amanda S says:

Super excited for more mini kits. I’m on holidays on Vietnam and watched videos with very poor wifi connection coz I couldn’t wait til I get home to watch! I hope I can get my mum to remember key things from my childhood so I can go back and scrapbook those photos she didn’t get a chance to do.

  204. Jamie says:

    Hi Becky!!

    Love all your products!!
I really love the idea of the mini kits, and
I am currently using your original school kits for my 3 children (4,7,9).
I was wondering if it would be possible to
come out with a mini kit that would match your
    original school kit albums?

Thank you Becky for making scrapbooking so
    much more do-able :)

    • Sara says:

Can I second that request? Maybe a school-themed mini kit??? Something with the grade numbers that you intentionally omitted from the childhood kits? Maybe????

      • Birgit says:

Yes, I would LOVE to see that, too – somehow I would love to put “Kindergarten” “1st grade” etc as a title card in the page protectors :O)

        • Kala says:

Me too! I was in tears at the awesome titles and numbers from the baby kit, and was expecting the same from the childhood kit. I totally get where you are going with the versatility of having different mini kits from year to year, but would love to have a matching title of the “grade” for that year… maybe this could be done as a digital add on so that we could print the cute title card of “Kindergarten” or “K” and grades 1-12. I could use a simple 1 for first grade and the 7 for the seventh birthday that year… Just thought i would throw it out there.

Thank you and your team for everything that you do!

          • Debbie says:

Also hoping to use a title card with the grade. Love the idea of a very basic mini kit (almost an add on or a base for those of us really focusing on the school aspect of this) that just gives us the basics for documenting preschool through highschool. And maybe some other basic school cards that could be used through a whole book. I like the idea of the mini kits and I like the idea of mixing it up every year. But having something like the grade title cards could tie it all together. I plan on doing a school book with 4-6 two page spreads to document every school year.

          • Laurie says:

I would absolutely love a mini kit that coordinates with your original school kit!! That would be fantastic!

  205. Sara Grafton says:

I loved the surprise at the end of the video! You had me at “mini.” :) I have limited space and expect to move every few years at this stage in my life. I only want to keep a few 12×12 scrapbooks to accommodate my son’s larger memorabilia, such as artwork. I want everything else to be more compact and the mini album sounds wonderful!

  206. Brooke Sepulveda says:

Wow, so many goodies in such a short time….good things definitely come to those who wait! The mini binders are adorable……would love to see them in green or black. I loved the colors you showed as well! You mentioned that the pages would be pre-sewn in. My preference would be to be able to put my own pages in, so I could have more or less, depending on what I decided to use the book for. Thanks for your continued creativity and awesomeness!!!

  207. falwyn says:

Woohoo, mini albums! And I was thinking while I watched the video that y’all should make 8×8 page protectors… :) I’m thinking they would be great for doing older projects (my husband’s childhood, my mom’s…) where I don’t have as many photos or as much other “stuff” to include. Can’t wait for the new stuff to come out. :)

  208. claire says:

LOVE LOVE LOVE the mini albums will be needing a few of these i have used your digital templates and printed smaller and placed in regular albums before now but these will let me play with paper products yay!!!! also love the mini kits and cant wait for even more of these – would LOVE you to make a travel version! looking forward to all the new products hitting the UK (my bank balance not so much but needs must!!!!)

  209. Katie says:

    Hi Becky,
I just wanted to say Hi! I’ve been suffering from Project Life Envy ALL year and have decided to go for it in 2013 (and possibly the end of this year as well if I can get supplies to take part in your Project Real Life class.)
Anyway, I live in New Zealand in North Island and in about a month we are moving to WELLINGTON. When I saw the name of the childhood kit the other day I said to my husband “that’s meant to be – we are moving there and there’s a kit with the same name!” and then tonight I watched the video and squealed when I heard you say it is named after the one and same WELLINGTON (my husband thinks I’m crazy!). I think it will be great for adding snippets of my son’s life amongst our weekly pages and documenting how we settle into our new city.
    Cheers
    Katie

  210. Julie says:

Hi ther Katie I’m from Wellington and I’m a project lifer, you’ll love it as soon as you try it….. And wasn’t it exciting to hear Becky naming it after our great city!

  211. Jennifer says:

Becky, you have knocked it out of the park! As someone new to scrapbooking Project Life has been such a wonderful discovery. I have 3 under 3 and started family PL albums last year. I am really looking forward to going back and creating baby books and can’t wait to start using the childhood products. A couple observations (some of which have been mentioned)
    1. Mini-album…AWESOME!!! Would love it if it were 3 ring and had multiple page designs.
    2. I have a set of boy/girl twins. I would love to see some stuff for the baby kits related to multiples (as it is such a unique experience and they have such a wonderful bond). I don’t think this would need to be a separate kit, but maybe just an add-on. Similar to the childhood kit but even smaller.
    3. Travel, Christmas themes (thinking AE Dec Daily kit)
    4. I loved the suggestion of the “Kraft”, black & white color themes. Love the minimal neutral look.

Thank you for all you do. If it weren’t for PL I don’t know how I would manage to preserve my family memories.

  212. Jennifer says:

    Mini Albums…. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Exciting :)

  213. telisj says:

Wow wow wow! Love love love everything! Thank you so much for your hard work Becky! Love the mini album idea SO SO SO much! I can envision so many possibilities—vacation album, sentiment albums, gift albums! I would love a slew of colors! Thanks again for all you do!

  214. Cathie says:

oh. my. word. I love the childhood mini kits so so much. the idea of scrapping my own childhood this way is so exciting and having one for my own kids, too. it’s too much! also, love the mini albums. my oldest loves to look at layouts of himself and this would be something that he could have in his room. love it all, becky. you’re a genius!

  215. syeda says:

Really love today’s big reveal. looking foward to its e.t.a. I wanted to know what type of scanner you use to scan your pictures or drawings. Because I am looking in to investing in a portable scanner. So, I wanted to know if you would recommend anything.

  216. Katrina H says:

I love all the reveals this week! I am very anxious to get my hands on them! I love mini albums! I think that would be a great way for me to get some of my older photos scrapbooked. Have you thought about doing a couple mini editions that are geared more towards teenagers? I could just use any of the regular editions, but I love the full in the blank and journaling prompts that are with the baby and childhood kits.

  217. Jamie says:

I love the new kits! I also wish the mini album would be binder style so I could add add or subtract pages…also would be cool if you came out with more styles of page protectors to add into the mini albums to offer more versatility! The mini kit idea is great, also! Thanks for working so hard to bring us these products-can’t wait until they are available to buy!

    • Michelle Allred says:

Those were the exact comments i was going to make, Jamie. For me, for the mini’s to work, I would need the flexibility of the binder style so I could add in extra pages of different styles – or envelope pages – to make sure it could incorporate everything needed for a child’s individual album.

I love where you are going with this, Becky. I love the mini kits and albums. I totally appreciate all of the thought and development that has gone into all the designs and prompts. Wonderful does not aptly describe the reveals this week!

  218. Janne says:

Becky you and your team R-O-C-K!
Where did that come from – the minikit – out of the blue!?!?! SO GREAT!
I have one question: will the cherry edition (or any of the other editions) be broken down into a minikit ?
For me – that would be a match made in heaven!

Thanks for the things you do for us!
    LOVE!

  219. Nicole M. says:

I would love to have this kit. I am currently using the Cherry addition for this years Project Life. But I have been dying for a childhood kit.

Thank you so much for these Becky.

  220. robin says:

THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! I am so excited about all the new kits and especially the new mini albums. I would love to use that size. I am on year 4 of Project Life and LOVE it, but am looking forward to some smaller albums.

  221. dawn says:

WOW, what a great week this has been!! SOOO EXCITED ABOUT ALL OF IT!! THANKS SO MUCH TO YOU, DAVID AND THE DESIGNERS AND EVERYONE ELSE INVOLVED!! The only complaint I have is making a choice between all of these, I WANT THEM ALL!! I love the ideas of mini’s and the colors look great, the idea of using names from cities is COOL!!

Thanks for making a videos this week also, it made it even more FUN!! I thought your SURPRISE was that you were PREGNANT!!! Now wouldn’t that be fun during all these new arrivals, a fresh new baby Project Life kit just for your little one. But the new albums are just as cute and less work (almost), thanks again TEAM PROJECT LIFE, LOVE LOVE IT ALL!!

  222. Amy says:

So excited about all the new products! I can’t wait for them to be available. I have been wanting to get scrapbooks started for my kids (7,3,3) for quite a while now, but decided to wait and see what your were coming up with for the child/baby albums…I figured I had waited this long so whats another few months or year!!

As for the mini albums, I agree with another comment about making it binder or post style so we can add or subtract pages if wanted. I would love neutral album cover colors…black, gray or taupe and chocolate brown. I also think they would be gret for travel albums. So many possibilities!!

Thank you so much for continuing to WOW us with your products and ideas for those of us busy people who are overwhelmed by the traditional scrapbooking!!

  223. Mari says:

Great kits. Love the idea of the mini albums but would prefer ring binder style.

  224. Sandy McClay says:

    Becky,
I so love your Project Life! But this is my dilemma, I have fully grown children and my photos were not taken as often as Mom’s do now…Plus so many of them I can’t remember when I took them! The birthdays and school are obvious, but so different from ones taken now. My sons were in sports so there are the typical team ones, not hardly any that I took, that busy Mom thing, and Dad was the coach. How do I ever go about making some albums for them now? They are 31 and 28…:) I am at a loss as to what kits to get and where to start….thanks! Sandy

  225. Jo B says:

Love the mini kits, and the mini albums look cool – but i would prefer them to be more flexible – maybe a d-ring album and page protectors so i can add or takeaway some pages as i need to. Plus then, the page protectors could be incorporated into my main PL books if i have less to put in than a full page!

Looking forward to these coming out in digital format at JS, the prices here in the UK compared to the US are ridiculously high (dividers, £9.59 compared to $7.99 / core kits £27.59 compared to $24.99) – i do expect prices to be a bit higher due to imports etc. but it is usually comparable £ for $.

The new designs look amazing, and i really cant wait for them to be available in digi form – do we have any news on when that would be? will it be before the printed product?

  226. Christy says:

I kind of wish I had kids so I could get started with these products…

  227. Kim Newton says:

I have loved all the reveals you have had this week. While I don’t currently do a picture a day, I like using the Project Life products in my scrapbooks to incorporate more to what I scrapbook. I am still using my original traditional baby and school kits that you created a few years ago and love them. But I am excited to use these new products too to use for my own childhood pictures as well as incorporating them into what I have been using with my kids.

The mini albums are great. Just wondering if they might come in the baby colors. I think they would make great baby books. Have you ever thought about doing a Project Life travel line. A mini travel kit and a mini album would be a great and easy way of documenting trips! Just a suggestion for the future!

Thanks for all you create and share!

  228. Sherri Frederiksen says:

Love, love, love these mini kits! This is what I’ve been waiting forever for. Ive seriously been holding out for scrapbooking the daunting task of my childrens school years because…i knew that my hero, Becky Higgens would pull through for me and develop something AMAZING! I was NOT let down. I did my own personal Yippee dance and am so happy and excited for when these kits are released. Thank you so much for this gift!

  229. Diana Soliday says:

So I am hoping that you could do a video tutorial on how to scan and then shrink kids’ art work. I’ve scanned, but never done any shrinking and would love to do what you did in Porter’s album as I tackle my kid’s albums. It’s probably very basic, but I don’t know how! Sad . . .

But so excited that you continue to create and expand Project Life; it’s truly the best thing out there!!!
You inspire me to believe that I can do it!

  230. julie says:

wow – it makes me giggle that your system to save us all time – takes YOU SO MUCH TIME! – know that we all appreciate your whole teams time!
as a WELLINGTONIAN i was thrilled by the name of the kit and was telling hubby about how you had named it after your New Zealand friends and he asked if that was just me… touched as i was that he thought i was friends with Becky Higgins i said no – probably more for the Crafthouse gang and im not really a friend, more just a FAN who buys a LOT of PL PRODUCT.
Becky i’ll def be buying the Wellington Kit and others and more plastics :>
As for suggestions i’d be keen as for a toddler kit and a really bright and colourful kids mini kit :>
    cheers julie

  231. Anna Vaschina says:

Love it all! ETA….ASAP….please :) Love the colours apple, navy, grey, mustard.
    Can’t wait.

  232. Kathy says:

Very cool, i love some of the suggestions that others have made- mini albums that you can add pages too, I also would vote for a mini kit in bright, primary, colors especially for childhood.

  233. Megan says:

I am excited about the mini kits as well, I think they will be a great addition to my son’s album, without having to spend the money to buy a whole kit. Thank You! But just wondering do all of the childhood kits have the same quotes and sayings just different colors, or are they different?

  234. StephF says:

Loving it all, but especially the mini album. I can use one of those for my honeymoon pictures (still not scrapped from 6 years ago!).

A wedding theme in the future?

    • Virginia says:

Seriously, Becky, you could solve my life’s woes with a wedding kit. Well, not entirely, but you could come very close. A wedding mini kit plus a mini binder and I would be set to go!

  235. J3SS1C4 says:

Love the look of these! Makes me want to go through and print a heap of my childhood photos to scrapbook since I don’t have kids myself! Super cute!

And the mini kit idea is awesome! I hope that you can create lots of different ones like travel related ones and wedding ones!

  236. Kim says:

EEEK! I’m excited again to scrapbook!

  237. Debbie says:

I am so excited about all your reveals from last week! Truly truly great products coming up. My favorite is the baby kit. It feels complete and perfect. Can’t wait to get started.

I never thought I could be disappointed, but I am in the childhood/school mini kit idea. I was really really hoping for a complete school core kit. I do like the mini kit idea and the way we could mix it up every year. That sounds fun…

I’m a little perplexed about something though. My daughter is going into 3rd grade. For her I have two preschool years, Kinder, 1st and 2nd to get caught up on so that’s 5 years. Two of the mini kits look almost identical except one is more feminine. Bridgeport is different. So perfect for my son who has two years of school under his belt – there are two kits I could buy, one for each year. Done. But what do I do for my daughter? I want to get caught up with hers. I could buy duplicate kits or just wait for more to come out from other designers like you mentioned. But how long will that take? I just don’t know what to do. I feel very stuck.

Saying I’m disappointed is a very hard comment for me to make because I adore you Becky and all that you do to simplify scrapbooking for us. I totally get that a person can’t please everyone and I’m not whining. I’m just looking for guidance in how to approach my daughter’s book. Thank you.

  238. Kristyn says:

LOVE the possibilities with the mini albums!! I’m thinking gifts for grandparents!!
I am so thankful for the freedom you give this “in therapy, perfection seeking” scrapbooker. :)
Freedom to say, “not everything has to match.”
Freedom to say “this year is unique, cherish it and worry about next year, next year.”
    Freedom to say “just start.”
Many thanks and bunches of hugs!

  239. Susan C says:

What a week! All of the new products you revealed this week are awesome. Honestly I don’t know how you come up with so many great ideas. Thank you Becky, and can’t wait for these to become available.

  240. Pamela says:

Still wishing for a punch that punches for the 3 x 4 card slots. Would make putting photos and memorabilia in there SO much easier!! Most time consuming part of PL is cutting photos to fit!

  241. JenniferL. says:

These are fantastic! LOVE the idea of the mini kit. A travel/vacation mini kit would be fabulous!!!! These are on my wishlist, now can I wait until Christmas to get them or will I have to have them immediately when they are available??!!!

  242. Etta says:

These are definitely my faves of the new releases. Keep up the good work, I can’t WAIT to get these. ALL of them!!!!

  243. Nolwenn says:

It feels less intimidating for sure, and more manageable when we want to do like an album per year per kid.
Does the mini album, with the already there pockets, is filled enough for one year (not sure I am making sense) ?

    Very exciting !!

  244. Kathleen says:

    Becky–

I love the mini kits—well, all of your products! I’m so excited to see the mini albums, too. I have three children—23, 20 and 11! The 11 year old is reaping the benefits of mom finding your products—but my girls have random albums—BEAUTIFUL albums, but I just couldn’t keep up because of how detailed they were! I think I’d love to created mini albums for all of their years and then do a big 12×12 of their high school years when they were so involved in everything! I just love the versatility of your products! I love that you think like a busy mom who wants to preserve memories—thank you for your vision! I’m a believer and a big fan! ;D

  245. Paula says:

Oh I love the mini albums, u know a travel themed mini kit in neutral tones would be perfect to scrap those holidays straight away.

  246. Deb Smith says:

LOVE the mini albums and kits! Perfect for me!

  247. Kim Boken says:

Awesome!! LOVE everything about Project Life and these mini kits..I teach scrapbooking and I hear so many times “I can’t do that, I’m not creative” With your products they can and those precious memories won’t be lost forever!!

  248. Chalese Groberg says:

Oh my! You really do think of EVERYTHING! I am currently putting together a mini wedding album for my niece, how much easier it would be with a wedding themed mini kit!! Thanks so much for all the hard work you do for all of us.

  249. Keesha says:

Loving everything about the mini kits and the mini albums. You are so inspiring and make it so easy for EVERYONE to scrapbook! Hope to see the baby editions and childhood editions in a digital format too!

  250. I’m sooooo happy to hear about the mini kits. The only reason i haven’t started project life is because the 12×12 albums don’t work for me.

If you really are taking requests, I LOVE if some of the minialbums where available for instagram photos. If Instagram photos go out of fashion I can always just trim down my regulare photos. It’s not posible to un square the instagram photos without chopping the frame.

Also an 8×8 version of project life would be a DREAM! Can you make my dream come true?

  251. Debby Riendeau says:

These are so well done! My kids are all adults now and I do not plan on going back to re-do their albums but I can see how many of these cards could work for non-childhood things as well. Love the Wellington colors for older kids/teens/adults! And the mini albums….OMGosh that is EXACTLY what I have been looking for to put together gift albums that are all set up and allow a person just to add their photos. PLEASE make them in neutral colors (black, brown, red, Navy and white) so they can be used for retirement, graduation, wedding, holiday, and other milestone events- it’s not always about the kids!

  252. Kim Brown says:

Hopefully this doesn’t get lost in the comments. I just wanted to comment about the mini albums. You said the pages were already sewn in. I can see a negative to that. What if you wanted to use it for a vacation or December daily. I wouldn’t want to be locked into a specific number of plastic pages. As I’m thinking, this would make an amazing December daily….. not this December, because that would be cray-cray. lol

  253. Wow, Becky and Lori! These new kits are fantastic. Great job!

  254. Teryl says:

Love the look of the mini kits and waving a big hello back from NZ !!!!!! How exciting, the Wellington kit, just love it!!!! I think the mini album is a great idea, I am keen for my Miss 5 to start scrapbooking as she loves creating and this would be a great way to get her started with her own album… hoping that there will also be page protectors for 6 x 4 vertical pics… such exciting times!!!!!!!!!!!

  255. Amy S says:

YES YES YES on the mini kits. I foresee mini baby albums in my future!! I NEED these for Christmas!!! Perfect gift. Perfect.

  256. Patty D says:

Great Job Becky and Lori! Everything looks wonderful, and I’m looking forward to ordering and using these products along with the Project Life kits I already have. Thanks!

  257. Stacey says:

Love, love, love the childhood kits! Thanks for keeping it simple! Thanks, also, for not including too many cards that are specific to traditional schooling, as there are many of us who homeschool and would not use those items. Can’t wait to order!

  258. Regi says:

LOVE THEM!!! OMG– I can’t wait to put my child’s book together! He’s 13 and I was so intimidated by not doing it before…but now I can AND do his baby books! {laughing and crying} so happy!

I do have a suggestion… I love all your cards. Especially the “Daily Routine” and the “Fun Facts” and there’s another I saw in Porter’s in the video, but can’t locate now..Maybe you might want to consider just selling a stack of 10-25 of just one style like the ones I mentioned, because I can see them being used MANY times in MANY, DIFFERENT books :) just a thought.

But again thank you a million for helping ME with his childhood/school and baby books! XOXO

  259. laura g. says:

just watched your video and have a suggestion for the mini albums..i prefer albums with binder rings as i scrapbook chronologically and like to move stuff around if i find something i have left out …just a thought….

  260. Brandi Cuan says:

I love what you have come up with, fantastic job!! I would find it more useful for me if they were 3 ring binders instead of having sewn in pages. Also, would you ever consider also doing a mini kit for recipes? I would LOVE to be able to incorporate project life into my kitchen…I think I just heard the angels sing lol. Oh the possibilities :) .

  261. Sherry Owings says:

I love your products and how simple they are to use. A 3 ring binder would be much easier to work with. I like to be able to add or move around pages. I like Brandi’s idea of a recipe kit also!

  262. Marissa P says:

Love it! I am so excited about these! I want to go organize my kids’ stuff right now! I also love the idea of mini kits and mini albums. Add my vote to a vacation theme, a wedding theme, a recipes theme, and maybe even a kid’s art theme (could be used in a child’s big scrapbook or in a mini album dedicated to scanned kid’s art). Oh the possiblities!

  263. Jen_A says:

OH MY WORD!!! LOVE the mini kits….but I am SO EXCITED about the mini albums!!!! I am an 8×8 scrapper so this is right up my alley!! Would be great if they had a label holder on their spine so we could tell what year the album is from (I am thinking of picking a different color for each of my sons and sticking with that for each year). Would LOVE a teal color binder (a really popular color right now that could be for a girl or boy…or an adult theme album). I personally love jewel tones, but a classic black and brown are great too. I can not WAIT for these kits & albums!! It just might convert me back from digital scrapbooking a bit. ;) lol Speaking of…any chance these kits and the baby kits might be digital at some time?

    • Jen_A says:

Oh and having the pages be removable would be a major plus so pages could be added or taken away….as would a couple different layout designs (including 6×4 pockets– meaning the photos running portrait instead of landscape).

  264. Marie says:

My thoughts on mini kits: YES YES YES YES YES YES

My thoughts on mini albums: YES YES YES YES YES WOW YES

    :D

Oh, and my thoughts on other mini kits that would work for seasonal, holiday, celebrations, genealogy, history, story-telling, activities, camping, outdoors? YES YES YES. Especially an easy PL genealogy album, how friggin’ cool would that be?

  265. Anya says:

I am in LOVE!!!! Definitely buying the mini albums when they come out!! genius!

  266. Alisa says:

I can’t wait until December I need these cards now. Starting my first project life book, doing a kids travel album the Wellington is perfect. How can you make us wait so long???

  267. [...] (and tate too). i scan some to put into his childhood scrapbook that i will be making with the new project life childhood edition that is coming out in november. and some originals i will keep for always in a file box because [...]

  268. Deborah says:

It would be nice if you’d give a discount for a group of 12 of the mini books/mini cards if you want to do it for a child’s school years. Maybe one that’s for girl and one that’s for a boy.

    I like this idea…just worried I can’t afford it.

  269. Cheryl says:

I.can’t.wait…for the mini kits! Those are awesome! Love the quote cards and the grid lines for the different orientations. You thought of everything! Even though my kids are grown and I’m working backwards, I know those childhood cards will be handy as I am finishing up their school years. I have lots of memorabilia saved on various pieces of paper or in journals, etc., so that I know I have the content to go back and fill in some of those cards. Of course it would be easier if I were doing this ‘real time’ but that’s not an option with having grown kids. I actually can’t wait to go back and fill in these cards…what a trip down memory lane it will be. (Let’s hope my 57 year old memory is in good working order!)

As for the mini albums, I am torn about the streamline look and feel of the bound album and the flexibility of the ring bound album. The ring bound albums take up so much space. As it is, those 12×12 albums (really 12×15 in actual size) don’t fit on my shelves. I am considering investing in the Ikea Expedit shelving or having custom bookcases made just for my albums. $$$$$ Don’t know when I can make that happen! Since I’m already committed to the 12×12 albums I don’t know about the mini albums for myself but I can sure see their usefulness for various people and situations. Maybe the mini album colors could sort of coordinate with your albums and/or the WRMemory Keepers albums since that seems to be what most of us use. Don’t know about anyone else, but I like my albums to match or coordinate in color on my shelves. :)

  270. KarenP(kphike) says:

Love the idea of the mini albums BUT not for a childs year! I can envision using these for all sorts of quick mini’s – mostly trips or a big holiday event I may have a bunch of pictures for and do not want to make tons of 12×12 layouts……at first glance the colors seem very “primary/school/child” oriented …would love to see a beautiful teal/seafoam….a chocolate brown….these could be so great!! (and will be I’m sure! Nice nice job! ….and I agree I adore Lori’s designs!

  271. Jenny B. says:

Very exciting! I love the mini albums! When you opened it, I immediately thought, “December Daily!” I’m planning to use my iPhone to document December this year, so I would likely use the 3×4 spot for the photos and the 4×6 spot for the journaling. Of course, I would probably mix it up, and have a few 4×6 photos in there as well (especially for special events where I would pull out my big camera). I typically do all my scrapbooking digitally, but December Daily is the one project that I do with paper. I would love to see Christmas themed mini-kits with daily numbers included. I’m thinking 1-25 on both 3×4 and 4×6 journal cards (for flexibility) with some blanks and filler cards thrown in for good measure. Maybe some could have words to Christmas carols. :)

I also love the childhood mini-kits.
