ten for tuesday.

1. Have you seen our new video? We worked with the awesome team at Epipheo to create this super short video that explains – What is Project Life? It’s smothered all over the website, making it very easy for newbies to spot. It’s so exciting to see how liberated so many of you feel using this system for memory-keeping and I would be tickled pink if you felt inclined to share with a friend or two – or your whole group of facebook friends.  ; )

2. The past couple of weeks have been deeply challenging, bitter-sweet, and overwhelming for me and for David – and for a lot of our family, actually. I got enough comments about being “missing” from my blog and social media last week that I wanted to just put a little reminder out there: “I work hard, but my work is not my life. I am a wife and a mother, a daughter, sister, friend, and volunteer.” (From my About page.)

3. Receiving your new products? As most of you know, lots of new products have been showing up on Amazon during these past couple weeks (crazy timing for me, personally, but so super happy that so many items are in stock!). We are really stoked to hear that so many of you are receiving your products and LOVING them. Please remember that if you happen to have any product issues or questions about your order, facebook is not the place that we can best serve you. Email customerservice@beckyhiggins.com so that we can properly address any questions you may have.

4. When will (fill-in-the-blank) be back in stock? We have this beautiful page on the website called PRODUCTS. If ever you are wondering when certain items will arrive, please check out that page because every single product has a note with the most updated information we have on estimated arrival timing. Whenever we find out that something is due to arrive a little sooner or a little later than we thought, we update those dates. That is truly the best way to know timing on new arrivals and re-stocked items.

5. All the Project Life Binders that have been sold out just showed up on Amazon yesterday, in case you missed those announcements on facebook + twitter yesterday.

6. Speaking of social media, I appreciate how so many of you appreciate all the product updates but I’m sure we’ll all be excited when my blog returns to “normal” again. In the meantime, please remember that one of the main reasons I have a blog is to support the philosophy of my brand and share information about my products. It’s a very seasonal thing around here. When new stuff is being announced, or around the time that new stuff arrives, of course I’m going to share, share, share in that direction. The rest of the time, I’m less about product focus and more about inspiration for cultivating a good life, and fun ways to document life, and other random + fun ideas. I’m super glad you’re here whenever you choose to be here and thank you for the many notes of “I love it all” from those of you who are especially loyal.  ; )

7. Project Real Life. I can’t believe it, but we’re just 2 days away from registration opening up for my first online class. It’s called Project Real Life and thanks to Big Picture Classes, the 12-week course will be available to anyone, anywhere in the world. Everything (price, content overview, registration info, etc.) will be published Thursday. I hardly know how to even market this class to you – my readers, customers, friends – because the heart + soul + thought + time that I’ve been putting into this is almost not comparable to any other project I’ve ever done. It’s not like a collection of blog posts. It’s a totally different level of sharing and I am so excited to be a part of this upcoming experience with many of you.

8. Never-before-seen. Speaking of new stuff and exciting things … guess what I’ll be sharing in the next couple weeks? Project Life: Baby Editions, Childhood products, and even the 2 new Core Kit editions for 2013! I can’t wait to share the designs and share the designers with you! Stay tuned. All of this stuff actually shows up later in the year but I want to share loads of visuals with you so you can plan.

9. I could really go for a few bites of Garrett’s Popcorn – caramel + cheddar mixed together. Super random, but a friend mentioned her upcoming visit to Chicago and now that is stuck in my head.  : )

10. Choose happy. As difficult as the past couple of weeks have been for us, personally, I am reminded yet again how this human experience is sometimes full of challenges, heartache, and downright very difficult trials. There is also so much opportunity for love, elation, growing stronger, being better. This is exactly as life should be. It is my prayer that we don’t lose hope in the difficult times – and that we choose to be happy no matter what our circumstances or limitations or stresses. I love that happiness is a choice.

i’ve tried that popcorn as they sell huge bags of it at costco…wasn’t too sure at first, but addicted now :)

  2. Becky,

Thank you for YOU and all you do… for your family, your circle of friends, yourself and even for all of us.

Sending HUGS and encouragement your way :)

  3. I just wanted to say Thank You! I am loving all your products. I figured that you were taking a small break since your new products have been arriving and I totally get that you are human and your family comes first :) big hugs!

  6. Nicole says:

I just want to say how much I appreciate all of the hard work you do. The product updates go above and beyond what any other company I have dealt with does. I cannot wait for the BPC class and the new products.

  7. Amy P says:

Sending hugs — one for each of the challenges you are facing. Thx for reminder to stay faithful and grateful, no matter what.

  8. KatieK. says:

Hey Becky & for the rest of us who may be in a push-me pull-me situation, we are here for all of you.
Rainbows come after the rainstorms – that’s a promise to remember.

  9. liz says:

so very excited about the new editions coming out, especially childhood as my oldest starts kindergarten in less than three weeks (eeekkkk!).

i feel bad that you have to ‘explain’ yourself on here, facebook, ect. taking time to be with your family is the most important and i think that most of your loyal fans know that.

we appreciate the ‘time’ that you have given us back with our family by creating such an easy system to document our families history, lives and everyday moments.

i’m ridiculously excited for your big picture class, anything you do will be great and so informative.
sending thoughts to you and your family

  10. Debbie Edwards says:

Hugs and prayers for you and your family Becky xx

  11. LeAnne B says:

Love it all. :) Hope you can and have been enjoying time with your family.

  12. Brenda Dvorachek says:

Thinking of you and your family and hoping the storm clouds pass quickly. Thank you so much for you updates and wonderful customer service. I left glowing reviews of your core kits on amazon as I am absolutely blown out of the water at your company and your service. Can’t wait to see your class on Thursday…sign me up. Keep the products/updates/inspiration coming…I can’t seem to get enough! Started catching up my scrapbooks that have been sitting for soooo long. Kind of funny when you think about the dollars spent on organizing the pictures waiting to be scrapbooked. I think your product line is so addictive because it gives me the the tools to make progress….a feat so rarely accomplished in my life anymore. Thank you….thank you….thank you…..

  13. Karen R. says:

I’m just so happy you have expended ALL of your energies to do what you have done and continue to do for us. Do not worry about everyone’s demands–you put enough on yourself for our benefit already. If others cannot see that, it’s too bad they choose not to find positive ways to deal with disappointment. You have done the world (truly) an incredible service with your ideas and lasting product to capture and store our memories. So very many of us are so very grateful! Live your life for you and your family first! We are grateful for all you have given to us! Thank you!

  14. Susan C says:

Sending good thoughts and prayers to you and your family, family, of course, always has to come first. Please know that your loyal, caring customers all over the world wish only the best for you and yours. You go above and beyond for all of us all of the time and I, for one, want you to know it is appreciated.
Thank you Becky for all you do. And for always choosing happiness, you are an inspiration.

  15. Sharon says:

    Garrett’s Popcorn makes everything better!!!

  16. Rene says:

    Becky,

Thank you so much for all the hard work you, David and your entire team put into to make a quality product for us. I am sorry to hear that the past couple of weeks have been so difficult for you but my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this trying time. As you said everything is exactly as it should be and you all will come out on the other side!

  17. Tricia says:

Thanks for the update Becky. Although I didn’t post, I was a little worried when you were silent after so much activity. I didn’t take it personal, I was just concerned and wanted to know that you were O.K. Things got crazy there for a few days. As an elected official on call 24 hours a day/7 days a week, as a full time prosecutor, and as a wife and mother of 2, I can definitely relate. Just breathe. It will all be O.K. I am a huge fan. Project Life has transformed the way I scrapbook. Can’t wait to see whats next :-)

  18. Lizzie says:

    Family is definitely 1st:)!

I must be looking at it wrong though because the cardstock on the products page just says unavailable…does that just mean you have no clue about the dates? :)

    Thanks for all the updates:)

  19. Aimee in Or. says:

    Hi Becky,

I have been a longtime follower of yours. Im talking years, like a decade maybe even longer if I think really hard about it. One of the things I’ve admired most about you is that you are a Wife, Mama and Christian before you bless the rest of us with your awesomeness! AND THAT IS FANTASTIC.

I saw the new video on BPC a few days ago and am so excited to sign up for your class.

    Sincere Regards,
    Aimee

  20. Kristin A. says:

    Sending love and prayers.

Looking forward to hearing all about your class at BPC and all the new products!

  21. Angie says:

They sell the combo popcorn at Costco; but you probably already know that because we all know you LOVE Costco :)
    Praying for your family.

  22. Tracy says:

I’ve been getting all my new plastics…so excited to start using them! This will be a first time for me :) You are so right happiness ( and joy ) is a choice…my husband has been working out of town for over a year now and only coming home on weekends. It really stinks! We pray everyday for something to come up closer to home…but through it all we choose to be happy. Hang in there!

  23. Jen T says:

May God bless you and your family in whatever you face. Thanks for all you do here, and I so appreciate the fact that your family comes first. That is how it should be.

  24. Kathleen says:

I love that you keep your blog “real”–and are vulnerable with your readers—we are all blessed to see “real life” on a blog. I think we’ve all seen the blogs where everything is “perfect” all the time. We KNOW things aren’t perfect for anyone, but it certainly appears that way when you read certain blogs. Anyway—your products have made the most difficult time in my life so sweet. I have CHOSEN to find the beauty and joy in my life—as well as deal with the sadness—and document it all as a reminder of God’s goodness in my life and family. I love hearing from you, but I also know that we all need balance and I appreciate you trying to find some—praying that balance makes itself known in your family and life!

  25. telisj says:

Ditto from many of the above comments!

THANK YOU for all of your hard work and for being so giving of yourself and time. We all need to find balance though and at the end of the day, it is always family that should come first. :)

    Can’t wait for your class!

  26. Marie Q says:

Thank you for all you do! And here’s hoping that faith & strength carry you through the challenges. This too shall pass.

  27. Jan W says:

Becky, you continue to be a class act while juggling ALL that you do, in your business and at home. Keep up your amazing work and THANK YOU for ALSO showing us that as much as “we” matter to you, there’s more to life than just business. You are a shining example of living what you encourage us to do: cultivate a good life and live it. Thanks for showing us the balance.

  28. Juli says:

Thank you so much for all you do Becky!!! Looking forward to seeing sneak peaks of the new product coming out later this year!!!!

I always look forward to a new blog post from you but also know that your blog and FB page aren’t your #1 priority. Family first!!!!!!

  29. Ann Marie :0) says:

    Becky,
I have felt overwhelmed for you & your family. Just reading how busy you are & you trying to keep up with all the questions, WOW!
As much as I love your items, website, blog, etc. please remember your faith & family come before all of this!
By the way, what a blessing that you can have a business with your spouse, at your home & home with the children.
You & your busy family are in my prayers.
    Ann Marie :0)

  30. Brenda says:

Love reading your blog but appreciate that you have your priorities straight. That is what I tell myself in stressful times. FAMILY is what its all about.

  31. Robyn says:

Becky, I love reading your blog about your family and scrapbooking. I think we all understand that
LIFE happens and everyone needs a break sometimes. As Dory says in Nemo, “just keep swimming,
just keep swimming” Bless you and your family at this time.

  32. Beth Madland says:

Ok. Angie already told you about the popcorn at Costco. It’s called Chicago Mix from GH Cretors. White bag with light blue accents. not as good as Garret’s but can work just fine considering we don’t live in Chicago. Here’s the deal: not all Costcos have it. My Boise Costco has it; my parent’ Maryland Costco on Rockville Pike did not.
    hope you find it,
    Beth

  33. Sheryl Pyle says:

We always miss you when you aren’t here but know that your family is number one!!! Always glad to hear you are ok and I hope the storm clouds clear up soon. You both work so hard for all of us and I am sure it is totally overwhelming at times. Please know we all appreciate the care and concern you show for all of us and continue to be blessed by how you share your family, friends and wonderful projects and ideas with us all.
God Bless you and David and take care of yourselves first!! <3

  34. Gen says:

I just love the new video! Re: complaints about you going missing… had you considered doing what Ali Edwards does when she takes a break and has guest posts on a memory keeping related topic. It would give you the chance to have a social media break and keep your blog readers happy at the same time. Win/Win!!! I always love to read photography tips – perhaps there are some photographers out there who would be willing to write a post that you could use when needed. Or perhaps have a series where some of your creative team pick five of their favorite photos this year/last year and why they love them. Just a thought!

  35. Nicky from Okotoks says:

Hugs and Prayers to you and your family. Life and Family are the most important things, that is and should continue to be where your focus is.

  36. Stacy says:

I figured your long abscence was due to family vacation time and I definitely missed you here on your blog. Sad to hear you and your family have been going through trials. Hugs and prayers to you and yours. Your positive attitude is admirable. Hang in there. P.S. I’m really looking forward to the new product updates! God bless!

  37. Monica says:

3 Cheers for Garretts. We orginally from Chicago – - and YES that is the very best popcorn. We buy so much when we go home. My family sends it on special occasions – - VERY expensive but worth every dime!! ;)

  38. Rebecca Foxworth says:

Sounds like your blogging break was unexpected. You’re in my prayers today.

  39. Leslie says:

God Bless you and your family. Prayers being sent your way, sounds like you are going through a rough time. Hope all is well. I did want to tell you that I really appreciate all that you do. I received my Cherry edition Project Life last week and it is gorgeous. The colors are so pretty, I can’t wait to get started. Take care Becky.

  40. Brenda says:

Your tenth item about CHOOSE HAPPY reminds me of another blog that I have seen in the past ‘Choose Joy’. http://www.lilblueboo.com/ Choosing happy (or joy) is not easy, so it’s wonderful to have reminders to help us along. I’m looking forward to taking your class. Thanks again for all your work on great products and for inspiring us all to cultivate a good life.

  41. Nicole says:

So sorry you’re going through a rough time :( May God Bless you and your little family. You always carry yourself with such dignity and grace and that makes me love you and your company more and more with each passing day.

  42. Lisa W. says:

All good “stuff”…..I do LOVE all your random everyday decorating kind of stuff:)

  43. HeidiY says:

i love your new video!! toooo cute! Great for friends who don’t scrap. looking forward to the new Bazzill cardstocks for each set of core pages!!! keep up the awesome work u do – U ROCK Becky!

  44. Susan says:

Becky – I think you are amazing! I have admired you for as long as you have been “in the business!” I just want on to BPC to register for your class, but I don’t see it anywhere – I hope I didn’t miss the registration!!

You and your family are in my prayers.

  45. Jen Sullivan says:

Love love love Garret’s popcorn!!! :)

(and your blog and products, too ;) )

  46. Irene says:

    1) You blogged earlier in the summer that you wouldn’t be blogging so much during the summer, so didn’t think too much about your not blogging. I had no clue you were going through a rough patch. Sorry.
    2) Some people (I understand that I am a minority) don’t Facebook (or Instagram since Facebook bought them), so getting updates about products on your blog makes me giddy.
    3) Your put your heart and soul into your products, why shouldn’t you be excited to share them? Why would you think you needed to apologize about sharing the information? Am I missing something here?
    4) Thank you for everything you do. I have been with Project Life since Project 365 (where I didn’t get a kit in time, but you graciously made cards available on line). You are AMAZING, INSPIRING, GRACIOUS, GIVING, and GIFTED! Thank you for making my life easier and for helping me to document my journey without guilt or anxiety!

  47. Myra says:

I went on to BPC to register for your class, but I don’t see it anywhere – do you know when the link will go live? Thanks and best wishes to you and your family.

  48. Felicia Young says:

Sweet video! It’s simple and explains it just right for anyone!

  49. Jessica says:

I’ve never had Garrett’s, but I bought the Costco version today because I read about it here. Oh my, i do think it can make a day better!!

  50. Jennifer says:

Thanks for #8! The first addition to our family will be arriving in January and I am excited to get started on a book for him/her! I can’t wait to see previews.

  51. Fiona says:

Nice video! I am also looking forward to seeing the new lines and especially the baby ones so I can go back and document the baby years ;) Thanks for creating such a cool system!

  52. Megan says:

I’m a little late to reading your blog, but I just have to say I’m a member of team “I love it ALL!” Thank you for all that you do and sharing your heartfelt thoughts even in difficult personal times. I’m sending best wishes to you and your family for blue skies ahead.

  53. Julie lueck says:

WOW, I cannot believe some of the comments I have been reading. I understand giving a review on something, but shame on you ladies for not having the decorum to put it in the right place or in a positive manner. People usually post on other review sites like Yelp. Whine to BPC. Not to mention, that NO ONE has actually taken THIS course to give an accurate critique. The very fact that some of the more insulting comments have not been deleted is a credit to Becky. I have not enjoyed nor found the tone from the negative comments helpful. Someone commented that Becky uses feedback, well from this feed back why would she even want to ever do another class? Obviously taking online classes is a choice!!! What we each value and are willing to pay are our own choices!!! Have any of you ever heard Becky give a critique on anything ie..despairing its value? I believe she deserves the same respect from all of you who read her blog.

  54. Lydia Montgomery says:

    Hi Becky,
No matter what challenges face us, I totally agree, life is so precious and happiness is a choice!! It sounds like both of you have had your challenges, please know you are in my thought and prayers. Thank you for your positive personality and thoughts. You definitely but thngs into perspective for me on a daily basis :) Hope to catch up with you soon.
    Hugs!

  55. Aimee Brunson says:

SO, SO excited for the baby line. Having my first in September and can’t wait to capture the memories of her childhood and my parenthood. :)

  56. Susan Todd says:

First, thank you for being YOU. Second, you need to do what you need to do and don’t listen to the “haters”!!!! You are amazing, kind, sweet, honest, hard-working, and don’t need to explain to us why you weren’t posting. Prayers are being sent to you and your family. Big, strong prayers xo
