2 things I’m loving right now.

{ Loving This no. 1: Grid Cards }

A box of 100 Grid Cards is something every Project Lifer should have on hand. I mean, technically it’s not a MUST-have like the 3 key ingredients to complete an album are (Binder + Core Kit + Big Pack of Photo Pocket Pages) … but … they’re pretty darn handy for a million reasons. Besides actually using them for journaling anecdotes, captions, and stories to go in our Project Life albums, they’ve been utilized by my kids for many things. Writing on them while we travel, doodling on them to stay reverent during church, and even flash cards for school!

3×4 Grid Cards shown here. I even keep David’s honey-do list on 4×6 Grid Cards. True story.

…..

{ Loving This no. 2: 6×12 Page Protectors }

This item is so very handy for any of your taller items that don’t need a full 12 inches of width in the scrapbook. Programs, ribbons, kids’ art, pamphlets, playbills, greeting cards, and in this case … Claire’s latest booklets. There are limitless possibilities with the 6×12 Page Protectors that any scrapbooker would just love. Remember: You can always cut off the top edge if you don’t want the full 12″ height.

Designer Paper is from the upcoming Olive Edition.

…..

{ your turn }

What about you? Which Project Life items are just GEMS to you right now, outside of those 3 essentials that are necessary to complete an album? Is it the little boxes of Textured Cards? A certain Photo Pocket Page design? Are you loving the Month Dividers or the empty Organizational Tray to keep all your random Project Life cards nice and neat? Are the Envelope Pages helping keep your precious memorabilia safe and organized? I’d love to hear about your favorite.

And of course you know we’re all ears about your Project Life wish list. Always.

Mmmmmmm I have to say I just recently ordered the colored textured grid cards. Can’t wait to use them to showcase say a movie ticket or clothing tag…YUM I absolutely love the Clemantine addition!!!!

  2. Irene says:

I have been using the 4×4 plastics A BUNCH lately. I cut the 4×6′s to fit and add an extra page in. FABULOUS!. I’ve also been using the 4×6 colored testured cards and they make the lovelist backgrounds. FABULOUS TOO! It’s all fast, fun and stress-free! I just caught up on 3 months of PL in about 2 hours.

As for a wish list….. A Project Life kit that had seasonal color scheme (e.g., deeper tones in winter/ reds and greens for december/ pastels for summer) and holiday (e.g. St. Patrick’s day/Valentines/etc.) cards. I find that so many of my summer pictures the people are wearing lighter colors and the lighter color scheme would work well and the opposite holds true for the winter (darker colors/darker color scheme). I’m digging the addition of the quote cards from your Big Picture class in my PL mix. It’s a super nice touch. Maybe seasons/holidays/quote themed PL kit????? Would love a 3×4 Punch that actually worked well. Would love 3×4 journal cards with a solid line of color across the top that matched the kit(I make my own now). Honestly, if you don’t develop another product, I’m still over the moon about PL. Thanks so much.

  3. Susan C says:

My latest favorite, can’t live without item would have to be the 4×6 textured cardstock. I bought all of the colors and it is perfect for adding a title to an insert, as a mat for a photo or a background for almost anything. I also love the 3×4 size in the cardstock.
I would also love a 3×4 punch (with rounded corners, of course) and the matching cardstock in 6×6 for those awesome Design E photo pockets. I love placing 3 or 4 mini layouts in the E pockets and the matching cardstock would be the perfect, easy backgrounds.
I love everything about PL and it seems like every new product you come out with is just what I need. Thanks Becky and keep it up.

  4. Nicole says:

I have been using the 3×4 grid cards for checklists as I pack for family vacations & I also wrote places that I want to go to take photos on the cards, used my crop a dile to punch a hole in each & put on a ring that I keep in my camera bag. Each time I get to a place on the ring & take pictures, I remove that card and add another place. I also am making a list of pictures that I want to take of each of my 4 boys to keep in my camera bag, 1 card per child

    • brandi@beckyhiggins.com says:

Love the idea to carry the cards on the ring so as you take the picture you jot down your journaling. Super simple!

  5. I’d love to see a 3×4 punch. Wasn’t one in the works? There was even a poll on whether people wanted straight or rounded corners? (straight, FTW!)

Hoping the arrow stickers are available soon.

When will we see the rest of the new kits? Dying to see all of Elise’s awesome Seafoam cards. And the binder! Trying to get my ducks in a row for 2013. ;-)

    Thanks Becky!

  6. Shanon says:

Loving the 3 x 4 smooth white cardstock as well as the 4×6 textured cardstock. As far as the wish list…another vote for a 3×4 punch… Preferably with straight corners, I can always round them myself if I choose, but I can’t always straighten out pre-rounded corners.

  7. Natasha S. says:

I just started using this system and honestly is has changed my outlook on memory keeping. I have a deeper appreciation for the everyday blessings and I am SO excited again about scrapbooking! Thank you! One of the “must-have” items that I purchased has to be the large envelope pockets. They are perfect for organization and storing the extra things like tickets/drawings and notes from the kids/etc. It will be so fun to pull out one day and look through and remember each of the things in the pocket at the end of the album!!
As an idea for the future….I think you should come out with a Project Life tote where there is a place for each of the size cards, etc. The wonderful thing about this system is that you don’t need a lot of tools, but I think it would be great to have something organizational to carry your things when you want to work on your scrapbooks away from home. I would design it where there are Becky’s inspirational quotes on the sides . Something simple, but definitely special that reminds us of what is important. Thank you!

  8. Angela says:

I LOVE the Design G page protectors and the new Bazzill cardstock cards.

  9. Lori L says:

The 8×10 and 5×7 page protectors are a great addition, and also the memorabelia pockets. I wish the holes of the pockers were larger (very hard to flip them as pages – which makes the rings open a lot), but instead I just keep them all in the back of the book to solve the problem.

I do everything in digital format. I guess my wish would be to have cards with straight corners, not rounded. I think if anyone wanted them rounded, it is so easily done in Photoshop or Creative Memories Storybook Creator, we cound round them ourself. It would be nice to be able to choose.

But, I don’t want to sound like a complainer either. I truly love this system!!

    • Cheryl says:

Glad I’m not the only one who thinks the holes in the pockets should be bigger. They are very difficult to turn on the rings. But I love the pockets. I think they would turn better if the holes were oval or elongated like you see on some other page protectors. :)

  10. I also love the stickers and can’t wait for those to be restocked and sold individually. I use them to jazz up full page scrapbook pages and individual journaling cards. Also love the 8×10 and 5×7 page protectors..just used those last night for school pictures.

  11. Angela says:

The smooth white cards. Both sizes. My kids are in love. Always want some to doodle at the restaurant or church.

  12. Melissa says:

I love the big envelope pages too…I have started using them as storage while I’m waiting for a moment to put the items on the pages I want them permanently. It’s so helpful to not have all the scraps scattered about and have to remember to go grab things when I can sit down with the book; it’s already right there!
I’m trying to decide what my budget is for the new designs…I WANT THEM ALL, but I need to focus on my current project…I love Project Life!

  13. Emily says:

    I love the envelope pockets!

  14. Barb Snyder says:

I am working on getting caught up on my family/children’s albums using PL turquoise edition. I’m very excited about the prospect of getting more done than normal, but still running into a few problems filling the pages with the photos I have that were printed years ago. I apparently take more vertical photos & can definitely see the advantage to editing my photos prior to printing them in the future, to fit the photo pages! I love the envelope pockets, however, I would love to see a 9 x 12 size! I find the 12 x 12 are just a little too big for the 8 1/2 x 11 or 9 x 11 items I have, as they slide around inside.

I also LOVE the pack of 12 x 12 cardstock in Turquoise & Amber. I find the papers very useful as I still do a bit of traditional scrapbooking in the PL album & I love the patterns. Are these going to be available with your new kits?

Can’t wait to get my hands on the new colors…olive in particular, AND my 9 1/2 yr. old son keeps asking me when he will get his own PL! Told him I would order one of the new mini kits for him when they become available!

Thanks for making it easier for me to get my family’s memories out of boxes & into books!!!

    • brandi@beckyhiggins.com says:

Way to go Barb, getting caught up on your pictures! Our new kits will also have coordinating designer paper :) And I love that your son is excited about starting his own documenting journey using Project Life!

  15. Mari K says:

I am loving the 4×4 plastics, and both sizes of the grid cards. I also just opened my 4×6 Clementine Cardstock last night and had a lot of fun with that. I am also LOVING the Clementine kit. It was supposed to be for next year’s album but once I had it here I had to start using it. :)

  16. I’m loving the Instagram 4X4 pocket pages. It’s so much fast to have them printed from my phone in 4X4 size and just pop them into my weekly spread.

Also, the textured cards. It makes throwing in the extra’s just that more faster without having to cut cardstock and then round the corners.

Love all the pocket pages. I use all 3 sizes and love them!

  17. Julia Walsh says:

I am a new convert and I love everything :) Just trying to decide between needs and wants so I dont spend too much all at once!

  18. Ann says:

I have always gotten my kids’ portraits from JCPenney, and they offer a 10×13 photograph. I would love to have page protectors (and maybe even an album?) built for this specific size. There are none out there that I have found and I have hundreds of them in a box. Thanks!

    • Jeanal says:

I have a few pics that size as well, you might want to try trimming them down some and then mat on card stock to fit in a 12×12 page.

  19. Jennifer says:

Looking forward to a 3×4 punch (with rounded corners to match kit cards). I hope that’s still in the works…

What I’m loving now? I’d have to say the new 5×7 and 8×10 plastics. These are my go to photo sizes and not having to drag out my sewing machine and suffer through stitching plastic is just wonderful!

  20. Leslie says:

I love the “G” photo pages to use with my horizontal and vertical photos. But my new favorite thing is the textured cards. The colors are beautiful and the quality is awesome!! These are coming in very handy for my project life book.

  21. Jen Vance says:

Would love a PDF or some sort of printable with small diagrams of the plastics available. Would be a great reference when working on pages rather than having to flip through my stash to remember which design is which or getting on the product page each time. Easy enough to update too when new styles are added. Thanks!

  22. Danielle Calvert says:

LOVE LOVE LOVE the 3×4 textured cards…I use those for Project Life, and other projects too! I love that I can add tape/stamps/embellishments or use them for tickets or other small items…endless possibilities!

  23. Chrystal says:

I am eagerly awaiting the Childhood kits to be released! My baby turns 1 in 2 weeks and I am anxious to get started on his 2nd year album! :) Will the 4×6 cardstock be available for the childhood kits as well (I hope so!)?

I’m doing PL now as sort of a hybrid project, and would love if you could make available the color palettes for each kit so when I go into PS (for instance, to add text to photos), I can make the colors exactly match the kit. I know I could just buy the digital kit, but it would save a little bit of money if I didn’t have to buy both the digital AND the paper kits. :)

    Thanks, Becky!

  24. Debbie S. says:

I really love having the coordinated patterned paper. Are there any plans to have the Clementine paper available? I have the album and the core kit but am really hoping the paper will be made available.

    • brandi@beckyhiggins.com says:

With so many new products in production right now, our designer paper has been put on the back burner. We still have plans to bring it back in stock, it is just going to be a little longer before that happen

  25. Amy says:

Nobody said this yet, but I love the WALLET SIZED pages! This is my go-to for vacations and events that have LOTS of pics – I just print them small and include a lot of them! I can make it all photos or use journaling cards too. I also have the variety pack of inserts (8×10,8.5×11) and love how they are labeled and have used those a lot too. (I need to order a second binder, unlike the first year I did PL…)

One thing I really really miss are the tabs on the 4×6 cards to do hidden journaling or add extra journaling. I think it was a “packaging decision” to remove them, but I must say that I really really miss them. Just found out about new tab punches that may work but previous solutions haven’t worked well for me and I wish I didn’t have to spend time on that part. Anybody else ever think about that?

I’d really like SCHOOL mini kits, not just childhood kits. Looking forward to going back in time to do my own…

    Thanks BECKY!

  26. Maggie says:

    Hey Jen,
Marcy Penner offers a downloadable/printable diagram of a few of the plastics available. I print them out and use the diagrams to plan my layout/ which pictures I want to use. You can find the files here http://www.marcypenner.com/?p=6911 :)

I would be lost without design G, honestly, because it allows me to use both horizontal and vertical pictures. I also recently encountered a roadblock with my layout, but it was quickly resolved when I found design F (I have an abundance of vertical pictures). The only suggestion I could possibly make about this already amazing product is to possibly allow customers to mix and match pocket pages. Or to make a huge pack available (with designs A-J). I don’t primarily use one type of page protector, so being able to customize or select from a huge variety pack would be much appreciated. Otherwise, I love PL, and my life has been forever changed. Thank you a million times over!

  27. Maria says:

I love, love, LOVE design G and I know I have mentioned this before, but I will just mention it again in the hope that it might happen sometime soon. I do most of my scrapbooking digitally, using the digital project life page templates. Would it be possible to bring out a plain 10 x 12 page protector (the size of Design G), that I can then slip my Design G 10 x 12 digital photos into. At the moment I get them printed on a 12 x 12 at Persnickety Prints and just have to leave the extra 2 inches on the side to stop them slopping around when I put them in a 12 x 12 page protector. A 10 x 12 page protector would be great to help make them look more like an insert page, which is usually what I had intended them to be.

    Many thanks :-)

  28. sharon71 says:

I love all of the products but my most recent favourite is the White 4×6 cards, they are just so versatile.

My biggest wish list item would be A4 size page protectors. In almost all other countries except the US, A4 is the standard size and I get so many certificates, artworks, handouts, letters etc that I would love to be able to slip straight into a BH Project Life Page Protector.

    Thanks for everything.
    xo

  29. Sonya says:

I have been using the H & J page protectors a lot lately, especially during Project Real Life. I can still do the photos for the class and add other pictures that I have taken with those inserts as well. I love the idea of a more seasonal Project Life as well. I am just loving it as it is right now. I’m excited to get some matching dividers. I really missed them!

  30. amy says:

Wishing Becky a happy belated birthday! I recall it is in October but have no idea on the date.

  31. LeAnne B says:

    K. I love all your Project Life goodness. Seriously. It. All. My Project Life ‘wishlist’ item is pretty farfetched. In fact, it will probably never be a reality, but you can always dream, right?

So here it is. I love design F, the one with one 4×6 and all the 3x4s. I love using that for quotes, year review, etc. This is the dream/slightly crazy idea part. I would love to have a little voice recorder that you could affix to a bi-fold 3×4 card so you could write your child saying something cute and when you open it you ‘hear’ them saying it on the voice recorder. (Think the little greeting card recorders.) Would that not be the greatest thing ever? Too bad I am not an engineer so I could create it!

  32. Fiona says:

I really love Project Life! I do my pages digitally, and I don’t use much beyond the basics. What I miss most is journal cards without lines. Maybe an option for future digital kits – cards with and without lines?

  33. Maureen says:

I don’t have one specific favorite (I love it all) but I just wanted to leave you a comment to tell you that I LOVE your pictures of your little helpers for this post! Totally Awesome! :o )

  34. Skye says:

Loving the 8.5×11 landscape page protectors I have used them a lot already and the 6×12 envelope pages!

Totally would love that punch too! Bring it on

  35. Marissa says:

Just got my box of PL supplies, so I can finally get started! So excited! I have to keep telling myself, “Halloween costumes finished first, then Project Life.” I know that once I get started it will be hard to stop. :) I got some of the plain and grid 3×4 cards and also the 6×12 page protectors. I forsee a lot of possiblities with all of them! So excited!!! Did I say I’m so excited, yet? ‘Cuz, I’m so excited!

  36. Lindsay says:

I love PL! I love the flexibility and the honesty of the product. I don’t feel like I am being pushed into buying anything, but I want to buy every single kit because they are so beautiful! ;)

Some of my favorite products are the big and small envelope pages. I plan on using the smaller ones for my cd/dvd of pictures that were included in that year for archiving purposes. I use the big ones for my childrens memorabilia from many different things, like their birth bracelets and name tags from the hospital, ultrasounds, school keepsakes, etc. I’m looking forward to the baby editions and the Olive and Seafoam editions. I use the shutterfly 8×11 books for my child birth stories and then jump to regular PL to document their first year and beyond.

My ultimate wishlist is an app for Iphone that would make it possible to plan your weekly layouts with the pictures you have taken on your phone. I take a majority of my pictures on my phone with the camera+ app and use Phonto to add text in negative space. It would be a brilliant addition, but I love Project Life just the way it is too! I am currently cataloging my pictures to catch up and get this year done so I can start fresh and current with the new year.

    I love Project Life :)

  37. Amy B. says:

Of course I love it all but I really just love the 6 x 12 page protectors. Gotta get some of the new sizes ordered. Been so busy lately. I think I need to spend some time in my scrapbook room this weekend. :)

  38. Fiona Moore says:

    Hi Becky,

I have just been on a 6 week trip to England, Ireland, Belgium and France. As I love the quality of the prints from my local processing lab (Photo Factory in Glenwood, Sydney), I decided to forgo the digital project life and to make traditional albums. I ordered 3 of the black signature binders and lots and lots of different page protectors and memorabilia pockets. My postcards fit in individual small photo protectors and act as an introduction to each set of pages on each different place. I am using the grid cards for journalling and the coloured textured card stock cards for fillers, titles and as backgrounds to smaller photos and business cards from different restaurants and hotels we experienced. I love the black signature albums as they will present a clean finish on my coffee table when completed.

What I love about Project Life is how QUICKLY I am completing these albums. Friends want to see the photos sooner rather than later and so getting the albums completed quickly is what I want. The quality of the plastics also make the photos look good.

I think the next thing to develop is Design “K” of photo pockets. This would be just like design “c” but with six vertical/portrait photo slots.

    Have a great weekend.
    Fiona Moore

  39. Jess says:

Love love love the new textured coloured cards :)

Wishing the 12×12 papers came back but you can make do with the beautiful cards.

I cant wait to start next year and do a simple album. I went a bit overboard this year. :)

Just loving project life in general. Hooked for life. :)

  40. Carrie says:

I’m so excited about the 5×7 photo pages. I am able to showcase a certain photo or put kids’ artwork, etc. into it.

I would LOVE to see a photo page with three horizontal 4×6 photos with the 3×4 card insert on the left side – just like Design J. Then I wouldn’t have to crop :-) .

LOVE everything. Thank you for making it so simple.

    Carrie

  41. laura g. says:

i would like to see a punch 3X4 punch with straight corners..i don’t round out my corners…except if i use one of PL’s journaling cards..try to keep it uniform on the same page it’s to speed up the process….rounding corners takes too much time
would also like the journaling cards to be available with straight corners…just a thought…thanks! love that i am doing this project…even though i am behind….plugging along…getting caught up…

  42. Tania says:

I agree with Sharon71 on the A4 page. I recently ordered a pile of 8.5 x 11″ page protectors in horizontal and vertical under the assumption that they were the same size. So excited to get them, start slipping in EVERYTHING, as PL is designed to be and oh how DISAPPOINTED was I. I then read up on wikipedia about the sizing, not a lot in it, but enough. It even says the U.S. uses this size, but obviously not like the rest of the world it would seem ( once again I assume all us international customers – based on what it said – but definitely here in Australia). These other page protectors are almost useless for me, although with a bit of cutting/sewing I am sure I will use them for something.

My most favourite thing at the moment is the 4 x 6 white grid cards and the textured card stock, both sizes. Gives PL so much more versatility but in a convenient manner for the customer. So well done Becky!!! Thanks so much.

  43. Janelle says:

Any plans for a page protector that fits a trifold brochure? Maybe along the side of a 12×12 so you can add pics + cards + brochures that you pick up from vacations. :)
