Watch this. Really – you have to watch this.
Okay – now. What are you feeling? Pay attention to what you are feeling.
If this little video makes you want to subscribe to Seeing the Everyday, then great. Mission accomplished. I’m sure they’ll be happy to know that. Without a doubt – I whole-heartedly LOVE this publication as one of my all-time favorites. Ever, ever, ever. And I think you’d enjoy it too, times a million.
But if that’s all you’re feeling, you missed something. I doubt that’s all you’re feeling right now. Right?
Perhaps you’re feeling something you need to change about your role in a particular relationship. Perhaps you feel prompted to write a note to your parents. Maybe you are motivated to pick up your camera more and capture everyday-ness in your life. Maybe you got the feeling you need to be staring at this monitor less and get on the floor (or at the sink) with your children. Or maybe you are feeling reminiscent to a time in your younger years or when your babies were … babies.
Pay attention to that feeling. Absorb it. And then … act on that prompting you feel. That prompting to do something. To stop doing something. To say something. It’s going to be personal for each of us. Isn’t that beautiful?

This is such a GREAT magazine. It makes me happier with each issue I receive
Wonderful video! Thank you for sharing!! I definitely need less screen time and more kid time…I will do better today!
This was wonderful!! Thank you so much for sharing it.
Thankyou for sharing this. I just ordered my subscription! I can’t believe I have not been getting this already. What a wonderful publication.
“It’s the process!” I love it!
Tears! Tears of regret, tears of joy, tears of hope and promise!
cry :.(
Thank you so much for sharing this Becky. Lots of good things to think about.
Words, pictures, stories of everyday life. Sounds like Project Life! I went to their website and was inspired. Now I know what to get my family members for Christmas. What a meaningful gift!
I LOVED this beautiful reminder of what’s really important. The Journey not the destination. Thank you Becky for sharing.
I understand how well this goes with the vision of Project Life. The video made me feel kind of bad that the time I spend cleaning with my children always seems like more of a war than a peaceful family time that I want to snap a photo of…. I am going to check into getting a subscription, maybe it will help me figure out how to like cleaning and teach my kids to like it too
Thank you, Becky, for sharing that. What an awesome reminder to LIVE each day and to cherish the simplest thing. When I accidentally lost all of my photos from 2011 what hurt me the most was the loss of the ones that capture the everyday moments. The big events I can remember and write about but the images captured in those photos are lost to me and my family. The everyday is my favorite image to capture. And I think I am going to get a subscription, I love the message they are trying to share.
I remember being little and always wanting to help my Grandmother cook, clean, read, you name it, whatever she was doing I wanted to be apart of it! I’m going to remember that feeling and merge everyday tasks and quality time with my children! They don’t care what we do together as long as we are together! What a great life lesson! Thanks Becky for everything you do! You are such an inspiration!
Awesome. Thank you! Just what I needed to see/hear.
Thank you for sharing this with us. So moving, so profound, so true and such an amazing reminder.
It looks like a great publication but I wanted to look at it first before subscribing. Can you suggest to them that they sell it at the bookstore? I asked for it but they do not carry it there. Would appreciate it. Thanks!
There is a list of bookstores on their website under the purchase tab. Hopefully, one is near you.
Just watched the video, which brought a tear to my eye! What an affirming publication. The video really spoke to our situation as a Navy family working through a looong deployment. Thanks for sharing.
Relationship.before.the.task. Wow!
I have said for quite sometime now to friends…family…coworkers… “We really NEED to get back to some basics in this country!” This post could of not said it better!!! Thank you for sharing:)
It is not many things that will bring a tear to my eye. But watching that video and seeing in print – less computer time more people time really hit me hard. Must be a wonderful magazine and one I must subscribe to.
Once again, Becky, you have inspired me to be a better person….to look outside myself and pay attention to others. I am newly retired and have found I am taking more time to listen to others, pay attention to things around me, etc. but wish I had slowed down when my only child was a child. However, I believe it’s never too late to change…I want to be the best grandmother, the best friend, the best mother, the best daughter, the best wife…(the best that I can possibly be).
I can’t wait to see the changes in my everyday!
Wow! I hadn’t seen this magazine before. I actually worked with Brad while we were getting our undergraduate degrees. A great guy-love his work!!!!!
I am a subscriber and it’s a wonderful magazine about real life and beautiful photography and no advertisements…..what could be better in a publication…. Regards Kathy A, Brisbane, Australia
What a lovely video. It reminded me of something you said in Project Real Life this week or last – about the purpose being to strengthen the relationship – I can’t remember the exact wording you used, but the idea was the same as what was said here – that the relationship comes before the task. It made me think about how and why we celebrate the holidays, get together with family, etc. I’m going to go back to PRL and look at that idea again! Thanks.
Hi Becky-
Just a quick note…my husband is a long haul driver and more often than not he misses the everyday happenings of our life. Your wonderful creation (Project Life) has allowed him to be a part of “home” even when he is away. He sends me pictures of what he sees on the road, shares the many stories he hears from his driving students and supports us in all we do to hold the home front down. When he gets home, our project life album is on his desk waiting for him. I give him time to quietly enjoy the pictures and journaling and he always comments how connected he feels because I included him and his many travels in my weekly pages. Thank you for listening to the master when he called you to this task. Thank you for caring beyond your front door!

PS The video was lovely…I cried too.
Thanks for sharing that video. I loved what they said about process vs. completed tasks. Of course we want dinner on the table … but isn’t it more meaningful when I let my two-year-old daughter scoot a kitchen chair to the counter to “help?”
It’s hard to slow down and let these moments happen. Thanks for the reminder.

Just finished subscribing. Can hardly wait for my first issue to come. This is how I’ve tried to live my life and raise my children. Just moved and need to be freshly reminded to slow down and not miss the simple everyday things taking place. I have stopped taking many pictures for the last four months while this move is going on and need to get back to documenting my life. Thanks for posting this video.
Going to go subscribe. Amazing. I think that lots of these moments are lost in today’s time because both parents have to work, leaving them tired and frustrated at the end of the day. You just want to get the chore done…..not thinking about the moments you can share with your family. Thanks for bringing this to us, Becky, as usual, I cried, but good, happy tears, motivating tears.
