Hi everyone. Hope you’re enjoying the weekend. Happy to see so many of you taking advantage of a rare Project Life SALE. Noticed a few product questions and wanted to clear some things up real quick.
1. We have extended our “one-day” sale to 2 days. Amazon’s system did not cooperate and there was a delayed start to the sale. So you have all of Saturday to keep shopping with 20% off all Project Life products on Amazon. Sweet. (Thank you again for your patience.)
2. Regarding the pricing question that has popped up (it’s difficult to summarize): Price increases happen every single day. It happens to every company. We’re all paying more for things today than we were a few months ago or last year. That said, I think the reason a few of you were surprised about the increase on a few (not all) items last month is because I’m such a communicator that you probably expected I would make some announcement. I am typically very transparent with you guys and I am sorry you were surprised. Without going into all the detail, the short answer is this:
The year of 2012 will go down in history as the most insane year for Project Life. We tried U.S. manufacturing. So many things went very wrong. Without pointing fingers (what’s the point?), it actually really hurt us this year, and yet – we didn’t raise the prices. We wanted so badly to keep the prices as they have been. So we did. We kept the retail prices the same, all the meanwhile our margins went to nearly nothing. Ouch. Lesson learned. So no – I’m not putting a dime in my pocket through all of this. The opposite, actually. I hope by now you guys can trust that we really, really care about our customers’ experience – so much that it was at our own expense. Big time. So yes, a few items went up in price recently. It should’ve happened sooner.
On a related note, we still are so proud of the fact that with 3 key items << Binder + Core Kit + Big Pack of Photo Pocket Pages >> this is all you need to complete an entire scrapbook. So we’re still saving you oodles of money when compared to “traditional” scrapboking that includes a lot more supplies, tools, and gadgets.
3. As I mentioned earlier, there are some items that are very low in stock right now. We can’t predict how customers will shop this weekend so we’ve given you an idea of what looks like it could sell out very soon … but don’t be surprised if something not on the list suddenly sells out.
4. All plastics that have sold out or will sell out soon are coming back. For example we have the Big Variety Packs of 60 Photo Pocket Pages showing up again in late December.
5. All currently existing Project Life Editions – well, that’s another story. Now that we’ve partnered up with American Crafts, I am more focused on product development (yay!) and … just wait until you see what we’re launching at CHA in January. That’s where we’ll be announcing and revealing all of our new Project Life Editions that will become available for purchase in the Spring. When you see everything, you’ll understand why it doesn’t make sense to reprint “old” stuff when we have so much NEW stuff coming out. So while there isn’t a 100% promise that we’ll never, ever see a reprint of Cherry, Turquoise, Amber, Cobalt, or Clementine again … it’s highly unlikely that we’ll keep making more.
6. Bottom line: Cherry, Turquoise, Amber, Cobalt, and Clementine Editions are probably going to be retired. When they’re gone, they’re gone. So if you think you would just kick yourself for missing out on one or more of these editions, don’t miss that chance to pick it up. And now is the best time ever because having a sale is a very rare thing for Project Life. Might as well save 20% today.
7. When I say “edition” – I mean everything that goes along with an edition. Core Kit, Binder, Dividers, 12×12 Designer Paper.
8. Unfortunately the Olive, Seafoam, Baby, and Childhood Editions will NOT have the little boxes of Textured Cards offered. We will offer them again with FUTURE Project Life editions, but not with this particular batch of new releases – unfortunately. Long story.
9. If you’re wondering about the estimated arrival on any products that are coming soon, our Products page is always as updated as we know. Just find the product you’re interested in and it says it right there. Baby Editions and Arrow Stickers should be here in the next couple weeks-ish. We’re hopeful to see Olive & Seafoam Editions in time for Christmas. Childhood Mini Kits, Mini Albums, re-ordered plastics … should be at the very end of December. As always, there is no possible way for us to pin point an exact date. We wish we could. I’ll continue to keep everyone updated, thanks to social media.
10. Whatever you’re buying this weekend, be sure to add an Organizational Tray to your order – with the box or without the box. I know so many of you love gathering memorabilia for your albums – or even extra Project Life cards and accessories. This tray is so well-designed, super functional, way affordable – and for just another day, it’s downright CHEAP. You’ll love having it to store your extras and since they just became available again, I wanted to be sure you knew about it.

I did I did! I did include an organizational tray with box with my order. Yay for 20% off
Thank you Becky!!!! I love your company, your products and your positive attitude! I am super excited for all the new products and to know that you’re continuing on and not giving up with the tough year. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.
OMG new editions??? A bit excited. I’m glad I got my Clementine edition when I did. Sooooo thankful for all you have done, Becky. I am totally in love with your products and your blog. Appreciate how open you are with us.
all the best for the coming weeks.
Cheers
Just wanted to say Project Life is THE best thing that’s happened to my scrapbooking. It has me back taking photos and jotting down stories and I love love love it. Love your positive message and fabulous communication and the way you operate. Just wanted to send a huge thanks. There’s always something to be looking forward to while I enjoy using the gorgeous products I already have. I hope 2013 is smoother sailing for you – sounds like 2012 has had more than its share of difficult waters. I greatly admire how you have stayed so positive and warm throughout.
I would like you thank you for giving me new life on memory keeping for myself & my family. I feel a lot less stress now that I am able to break down a larger page yo smaller & simpler elements. You are a small business. When supporting a small business you sometimes pay a little extra, to my way of thinking this is just one way to say “Thanks” and keep small businesses alive and strong! Keep up the good work, I am excited to see what comes from your new partnerships!
It’s funny…as soon as I hear that these may be retired, I have now bought every one! I already have Amber, Turquoise, Cobalt…just ordered Cherry yesterday, and I think I’m going to have to pick up Clementine too! It’s that fear of loss…and I know they’ll get used as I’m blowing through PL now that scrapbooking is so much easier and stress-free for me!! Thanks again for your dedication, Becky. Seriously. You are an inspiration.
Thank you Becky, you made Black Friday (and Saturday) fun! I can’t say enough about PL and about you and your company’s honesty and caring. You and Project Life rock, thanks again.
Thanks so much for your honest updates, Becky… You Rock!! Going to buy clementine now so I don’t miss out!! Lol.. Have a great weekend.
Becky, I think you are THE best business woman in the crafting industry. I love your honesty, how you communicate with us, your creativity rocks, you are a crafting genius and you made me get back into scrapbooking when it felt so overwhelming after 10 years, which I will be forever grateful. I don’t care if your products have to go up another 30%, I will support you and love you!! Can’t wait until the new editions are released!!
OK I love her and her scrappy stuff too… but lets not be too hasty about the price rises hey???!!!!
(Jokes, I’m with you… LOVE the stuff THAT much!)
As others have said…Thank you much for all the updates you give us! I find myself wondering about something about Project Life and there you are on FB and your blog to keep us up to date about what’s going on! I am so glad I decided to scrapbook with Project Life two years ago. I was a bit hesitant. I gave it a second look and thought I would give it a try…the best decision I’ve made!!!! I can mostly keep up with my memory keeping…I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! Looking forward to Olive & Seafoam kits and the childhood mini kit and all the great stuff next spring! Thanks again for all you + David do!!!!
Becky, I recently watched your video on US manufacturing.
Sorry to hear it didn’t work out. Knowing this,
It completely makes since for you to partner with
AC and SC!! I love how you are so honest even when times are
tough. I get your simplify concept, I have a ton of traditional albums!
I remember when you joined CK! I am now all digital and love the
project life concept! Thanks for all you do and continue
to do! Here’s to an awesome 2013!!
sense not since …. Ha!
Thank you so very much for the update! Your transparency is amazing, and so appreciated, especially in the business world!!! As much as I hated to see prices increase on some items, it is totally understandable. And for the record, I did some MAJOR Project Life products shopping anyway! HA
God bless you, your family and your incredible business which has been a blessing to so many, myself included!
I hope this is not a silly question.
Which binders coordinate with the baby core kit? I don’t see a specific baby one, so I’m thinking it must be the signature binder? Or the Olive and Seafoam binders coordinate as well? Thank you!
Wendy, there aren’t specific binders, and as far as I know there won’t be any. (I asked becky this same question and she said maybe in the future?) but the signature binders work great, I ordered the white one for my sons baby book and intend on ordering another for baby #2 coming next year! There are also a few plain colored ones you can order off of amazon made by American crafts, that will work with PL too. Good luck, hope this helps!!
Thank you Becky! I was surprised by the price change, but not upset by it. It’s still a great price and I still LOVE Project Life. When will the current editions be retiring? Is it when they’re gone they’re gone? I’m just asking because I really love the Clementine Kit and want to get another one if you’re going to stop making them. Have a great weekend and THANK YOU for all you do!
I did PL two years ago and love all the photos and memories i documented. I decided to take a break last year and guess what? I didn’t take near as many pictures, never had any printed out and because of that i am starting up with PL again in January. Thank you for making such a unique, versatile product that will contain a year’s worth of memories in one place. You rock!!!
Ordered up a storm. But I usually do when I find a rare gem on sale. Thanks for all you do.
As a customer, I love buying from someone with so much integrity and who clearly cares so much about her customers. As a business woman, I want to take you by the shoulders and shake you and tell you to NOT put yourself in a hole like that! Especially because of your integrity and transparency I believe the majority of us would not have an issue with a price increase. I want PL around for a long time so don’t be afraid to do what you need to do to take care of your self, family and business.
Thank you for all you do, Becky! I hope 2013 is a lot better.
I agree with Vanessa – I am a small business owner myself and am so impressed with with what you do. I understand the struggles and 24 hour schedule along with being a mother, wive and being busy with my church calling. You make my crazy life easier with your system. If PL dos’nt do well – I have to go back to my crappy way that didn’t work out at all!!! Long Live Project Life!! (and David and Becky Higgins!)
*doesn’t
Even with the price increase Project Life is a bargain!! Don’t hesitate to order anything Project Life, you will not be disappointed. Thanks for the sale Becky, I picked up some pages, trays and cards. I love how easy Project Life is and how much time and money I’ve saved since I started using Project Life.
Becky, I’ve been with you for a few years now. Although I know you are only human, I must say you are a pretty rockin’ one. Thank you for all you do as you are making your way in this new (it’s still relatively new) venture of yours. I think you are doing a great job as a small business owner. Even with a price increase, it’s still a great deal. It’s not for everyone so those that can’t/won’t do it, let it go. Do your best – as you have clearly been doing. There will always be someone who doesn’t get it, doesn’t like it, doesn’t want to spend the money on it, etc. You can’t please everyone. But judging by the popularity of your product, it is revolutionary and well received by the majority.
Thank you for Project Life. It has made MY life better. Just in case you need to know that you have made a difference, you have made a difference in my life. So, thanks.
I noticed the price increase and thought “oh darn should have bought cobalt before the price went up. Oh well!” and that was the end of that;). Then you had a sale and voila! I bought cobalt and am absolutely thrilled to get it on sale:)
Project Life is still an incredible value. I am currently on bed rest, trying to stave off pre-term labor, and I have been using all this downtime to catch up on my 4 years of albums. What fun! I’ve been ordering here and there like crazy when I realize I need more inserts of a certain design, and I stocked up with the sale, so I could really finish these things off. I love the act of making them and I love looking through them when they are done. Without Project Life, my pictures would mostly still be on my computer as I stared at my regular scrap booming items being completely overwhelmed and feeling uncreative.
Thank you for making such a great product and being such a great company:)
Becky, Thank you for your openness and sincerity with PL. Your system has changed the way I document my family’s life and I’m relieved of the guilt of not having anything done. I bought my first PL kit in late October and completed all of 2012 in just a few hours. Normally it would have taken me months and a lot more money- so thank you!
I’m looking forward to starting PL 2013 with the clementine kit. Can’t wait to see what comes out with AC! Thanks again!
Ditto to everything above! You and your company are fabulous, the products are quality first class items and I love using them. Thanks for the heads up on what might sell out—I absolutely love Clementine and ordered a couple more items plus page protectors in this sale. Thanks for all you do. You really do rock and I am looking forward to new products in 2013!!
Thank you for the update. It’s a bummer that the US manufacturing didn’t work out; thanks for trying. I can’t wait to see what new products you’ll be releasing anwish your company smooth sails in 2013!
As a solution to the lack of 3×4 and 4×6 Bazzil cards for Baby and Childhood editions, I purchased as many varieties of the current cards as I could-some have to match! Thanks Becky, I will ALWAYS support you and these products! Went to my local craft store, and was dismayed to see copycat products starting to pop up. I trust your company and the product integrity that I know comes with every purchase, so while the copycat protectors may “seem” like a good deal, I’m not chancing it-EVER.
I just made my first Project Life order! I can’t wait to start 2013 with Project Life, ready for the new year!
You ROCK!! I have been doing PL for 4 years now..since the very first edition and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! I would not be preserving the moments that happen all around me if it were not for project life..so thank you for all you do! I would pay double (not that I want to) to continue my albums! So glad you are partnering up so you can (hopefully) see some profit for all your hard work!!
Hi Becky,
Since I know you are so great at recieving input, I vote for reissuing the Cherry binder. I just replaced my Turqouise and Amber binders. (Thanks for the sale). I was hoping to do the same with the Cherry binder, especially since it was the thickest one. On a side note if anyone out there has an extra one I would love to buy it. Reply to this and I will give you my email.

I LOVE PL! This is the first year I’ve scrapbooked every photo I wanted to – and i take tons of photos.
Are the black binders being retired as well? Thanks for everything you do!!
I vote for a reissue of the Cherry binder.
I didn’t know they weren’t going to be replaced and missed out on it. Anyone know the exact color name of that one so I can buy directly from We R Memory Keepers if Becky can’t reissue that one? I’ve only seen “Real Red” available on We R Memory Keepers distributors.
I’m in the same boat! I was SO excited when they were reissued because i could replace my totally STUFFED one from 2011 with 2 that will not fall apart every time someone tries to look at it! Haven’t had the money to throw at it so far, but i wasn’t panicked because the were JUST remade! And now i find out they’re gone!
thanks for the update! i can’t wait to see what you have in store for 2013
Thanks Becky for the sale info and for all of the hard work that you and your husband do to create such wonderful products. Hopefully you will see some profits soon. There are not too many people who would go to all of the work and headaches you do to create such wonderful products for others. Blessing to you and your family!
To be honest I didn’t notice the price increase I am more interested in the new colors for the next project life. Hoping to get ‘ Olive ‘ when it is available but I am really not impressed by either of the new colors so hoping you will do more bold colors for the new year ahead as I have all boys. Keep up the good work with keeping us all informed.
I echo all the above positive comments. I am delighted to be on the PL ride with you! I am gutted that there will not be Bazzill cards for the Seafoam kit as I use the cards for Clementine and Amber all teh time. I understand there must be a darned good reason why not, so instead, are you able (or can you ask Bazzill) to provide a list of the specific coordinating colours for us to then buy our own card and cut it ourselves? That would be very handy especially as there are now no longer any Bazzill stockists andywhere near me and I would have to wait to ge the kit and make a best guess on colour compatibility from my computer screen. Thank you! for all you do!
I’d like to know which Bazzill colors coordinate with Seafoam as well since the cards will not be available for this edition (love those cards too for my other editions
). I would like to be able to make my own if you instead. Thanks!
I wasn’t able to get sale prices at all on Friday or Saturday. I know some other folks posted this on FB too (which I was following but can’t check here from work). I did finally put in an order today because I didn’t want to miss out on products going away, just not sure why the sale prices weren’t showing up at all
I vote for a reissue of the cherry binder as well. I bought the cherry core kit this weekend hoping to get the binder when it comes back in stock. Now I am super bummed it may not ever be available. Just my input, I appreciate all you do. Thanks!!
I’m so bummed that the Cherry addition is going away. I have everything ready for 2013, except for the binder.
Sad face…
However, on that note, I am sure I can use one of the other binders.
Thank you so much for all of the wonderful updates.
PLEASE reissue the Cherry binder. I love the design! I’ve bought everything for next year’s Project Life Cherry edition…..except the binder so I’m at a loss. Please help!
I absolutely adore Project Life and I love the new editions….but I like the old ones too!
