check your shopping cart.

Special note for our customers on Amazon!

So many of you took advantage of our 50% OFF cardstock sale this week. Smart move.

But here’s the thing: I can see on the back end of our Amazon sales that there are hundreds of cardstock packs sitting in shopping carts, that aren’t actually purchased yet. If I change the $3.99 price back to $7.99 and then you check out, you will have missed out completely on that 50% sale. If you thought you were getting the 50% OFF, I want you to get the 50% OFF.

So here’s what I’m going to do: I’m leaving the 50% OFF price in tact through Friday.

To-do: Check your Amazon shopping cart.

If you have Project Life cardstock in your shopping cart, go ahead and check out now. Otherwise you’ll go to check out in a few days or a few weeks – and you’ll be paying the regular $7.99 price per pack of 24. Make sense? I’m just watching out for our customers.

Those of you who missed the sale, or who want to take advantage of getting more Project Life cardstock? We’ll call this your lucky day. It’s all 50% off for anyone and everyone through Friday night. But be sure to actually check out. Simply putting it in your shopping cart doesn’t guarantee the sale price.

PS – The 6 winners randomly selected from recent cardstock purchases? That window has closed and we’ll announce the winners tomorrow in my Feedback Friday post. Be sure to check back to see if you won!

Project Life is back … again!

Click HERE for the Turquoise Edition.

Click HERE for the Amber Edition.

Of course everything we currently sell can be found HERE in our Amazon store.

……….

We feel the excitement. I think these happy customers do too.  : )

……….

I so enjoy hearing from so many who get it. They get how Project Life is designed to be a SOLUTION. Here is a recent email from Courtney in Florida:

Becky, I just wanted to share a little something I figured out this afternoon. I was on the phone with my very good friend Sally today, talking to her about Project Life and how great it has been for me. This is my second year purchasing PL and I was trying to explain how it has REVOLUTIONIZED the way I look at scrapbooking (and yes, I mean REVOLUTIONIZED!). She mentioned she was not sure if she wanted to get it this year because she hadn’t “caught up” from previous years and doesn’t want to start yet “another” scrapbook.

THAT was when it hit me. I suddenly burst out, saying “That’s what I’m trying to tell you! I feel like a HUGE weight has been lifted off my shoulders… From now on, I will ALWAYS be caught up on my scrapbooking!”. It may sound a bit cheesy, but I feel so free! Not only do I have a plan for all of my future scrapbooks, but I have a plan for all the scrapbooks I feel so “behind” on!! I even know how I want to do my future children’s scrapbooks based on your simple concept. It’s very obvious that your products come from your heart, you put a lot into them and it shows! I look forward to all of your future projects!

Thank you from the bottom of my crafty little heart :)

Courtney

This is an email from Michelle in Woodbrige, Virginia:

I bought the Project Life kit last July and being half way through the year, and being slightly OCD about such things, I decided that I couldn’t start until Jan 1, 2011.  Yeah, I am like that. And then inspiration struck this year and I knew why I was holding on to this book.  I have about 7 boxes of “old” memories.  Life before I was a scrapbooker and the less important life moments since I have been one. Things I couldn’t bear to part with but I couldn’t image doing a whole scrapbook page on.

And that is where Project Life comes in.  Next weekend I will join a great group of church ladies for a day of scrapping.  And my one goal is to use the book to “remember” those moments.  It is my project: Life.  It is not Project 365 (although I wish I was disciplined enough to do that).  It is literally snapshots and momentos of those moments that may not define me, but they are all pieces of the puzzle that is me. Thanks so much for all of the inspiration and for giving me a venue to remember this amazing life that God has given me!

Michelle

Project Lifers ROCK.

Thursday, January 20th, 2011

There are thousands who have embarked on a journey called PROJECT LIFE. These are just a few of those who have trusted that this approach to scrapbooking is truly flexible to meet their needs. They are taking pictures and jotting down memories and putting those things together – with ease, with relief, with enthusiasm. They are using Project Life as a solution for documenting life.

My heart is full. I am overwhelmed (in a good way) by the comments and emails and blog posts that you’re writing about how Project Life has helped you and what significance it has in your life. I am grateful that you’re sharing the Project Life love with your friends.

I know I’ve said these things before. I just wanted to say thanks again.

And I’m pleased to give you an update on the timing of MORE inventory on its way since we’ve been sold out for a week or two. We are expecting more kits to arrive to Amazon early next week. Notice that I said “expecting” … not “promising”.   : )  When they arrive, I’ll announce it here on my blog, on facebook, twitter, and in an eBlast. There are no pre-orders.

***Amazon is for U.S. customers only. Our international distributers in New Zealand and Canada are also receiving more inventory as well — just not quite as soon.

Join me in crossing fingers, toes, and maybe even eyes … that all will go smoothly with the arrival of more Project Life kits this coming week. I am super excited to welcome thousands more to the Project Life par-tay!

Project Life is being delivered.

I hope everyone had a truly wonderful weekend. I’d like to share this poem with you. Written by a fellow blog reader, this showed up in my inbox just before Christmas.

…………….

Twas the morning of the 23rd, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

.

The boys were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of x-box games danced in their heads.

With mamma in her bed, still trying to sleep

Could not figure out what was making that peep

.

When at my front door there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the stairs I flew like a flash,

Tore open the front door and hoped I didn’t crash.

.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow

Gave the lustre of early morning to objects below.

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a Purolator Man, and a box filled with cheer!

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,

And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,

Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

.

He spoke a few words, but went straight to his work,

And handed me my package, then turned with a jerk.

And laying his finger on the box for me to sign,

I quickly followed by putting my name on the dotted line!

.

He sprang to his van, to his horn gave a whistle,

And away he drove like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,

“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!”

My box full of cheer was a total surprise!

Didn’t expect it would come , I’m not gonna lie!

She continues…

Just wanted to share my excitement about getting my Project Life 2011 early! I am SOOOOOOOOO excited. I live in Canada and we always get things late, late , late. But this was such a nice surprise to get my package early, early, early!!!!

Thanks for creating this project. I got my first Project Life this year and it has been such a blessing in my life. I have taken pictures of moments that would have never been captured. It’s so much a part of who I am now – taking pictures of the everyday stuff. Thank-you for helping me to capture in a book what MY life is really all about.

Tamara in Okotoks, Alberta (Canada)

………….

Thank you Tamara! I love her wit and humor and excitement and the fact that she took the time to share that with me. Dar-LING. And remember MaryAnn’s video thank-you message and tour of her Project Life book? She, like Tamara, and like many of you, has also received her Project Life.

……………..

I’d love to see everyone’s I-got-my-Project-Life! pictures. It’s simple.

1. When you get your product, have someone take your picture with “the big white box”. Or get in front of the mirror. Or set the timer. (No, it doesn’t need to be in front of a Christmas tree.) Get creative or keep it simple. However you do it, you’ll have a little glamour shot of you + Project Life.

2. Email it to me at projectlife@beckyhiggins.com

Note: When you email me the picture, please be aware that you are giving me permission to share your picture here on my website or in other promotional material.

…………….

No, we are not done with the 12 Videos of Christmas. As far as I’m concerned, the Christmas season lasts as long as I’m eating fudge. And I’m still eating fudge.

The next video will be a tour of the Project Life kit, for those who are curious about what to expect when you open the box. In the meantime, many thanks to those of you who have ordered and who are telling others about Project Life.

Day 1 of sales resulted in Project Life being the #1 and #2 best-selling products in the entire Home & Garden section of Amazon on December 23. This screenshot was my POTD (picture of the day) for that very exciting Thursday. Again, thank you!

Project Life is arriving!

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

It’s true. Amazon is literally receiving the product right now. All the product is NOT there yet. They’re literally unloading pallets from the trucks and loading them into the warehouse as I write this. So exciting! Here’s the update as of right now.

- Turquoise Binder is FOR SALE. CLICK HERE.

- Project Life: Amber Edition is FOR SALE. CLICK HERE.

- Amber Binder is FOR SALE. CLICK HERE.

- Divided Photo Pocket Pages, both Design A and Design B are both coming in next week.

- Journaling Cards are coming in next week.

- Digital Project Life is almost ready to launch as well. Sometime this weekend or early next week.

……………

I will continue to update this post so if you’re wondering about which products have arrived, just refresh this page and hopefully you’ll see more “FOR SALE” links becoming available today.

Happy Ordering!

……………

Side note: The Project Life kits that are arriving today are less than half of our entire order so … IF THEY SELL OUT quickly, no freaking out and thinking all hope is lost. That’s crazy talk. In fact, all is well. More kits are coming soon. I’ll keep you posted on that timing as soon as we know more.

Remember to smile today.

shiny & new

So here we are. A new logo and now — a new, clean look for the website!

I’d like to point out a few features, whether you already frequent my little corner on the web or you’re brand-new here. (Welcome!)

PROJECT LIFE. Most of you are familiar with my passion for story-telling and record-keeping in our families and personal lives. Project Life is the product to help anyone (any.one.) be able to do this without spending so much time and stress getting it done. If you already use it & love it, yay! You can snag the Project Life graphic for your own blog if you want. That can be found on the right side of this page. If you want to learn more, the Project Life section of this website is the place to browse.

BLOG. You’re looking at it. It’s where I share and ramble and teach and announce. It’s like what I’ve been doing for a dozen years in scrapbooking publications — only with a blog it’s completely free, more personal, and definitely more frequent. If you want to be notified every time a new post goes live, see those little buttons up by my picture on this page? That’s how you can follow me on Twitter or Facebook or subscribe to my blog with RSS feed.

CATEGORIES. Look to the right. See all those categories? They’re for your convenience. Need some inspiration on organization? Click on that category for all my best-of blog posts on the topic. Got a question that you know I’ve answered before, but you can’t quite remember? Click on Q&A for all the Q&A blog posts I’ve done. You get the idea.

SEARCH. Don’t forget the Search feature on the sidebar as well. This handy dandy little number will help you find anything you’re searching for on my blog.

Note: It takes a lot of work to get every post appropriately categorized and tagged, since I didn’t do that all this time until more recently. (Wish I did.) So with time, the categories and Search feature will become even more comprehensive.

RECIPES. Just like what it sounds to be … the place I share my favorite recipes. I guarantee you that the kitchen is not where my creativity shines. I do enjoy cooking & baking though, and appreciate talented folks who come up with the recipes. When I come upon a recipe that I deem to be tried & true and a favorite for our family, well then — I share it. I don’t take credit for making any of it up and I do try to give credit to where I found the recipe. Note: Right now this section is blog style, but it will soon be organized & categorized for much easier viewing. In the meantime, you can always use the Search feature there to find what you’re looking for.

ABOUT. A little insight into who I am and how I got here.

AMAZON PICKS. I am often asked “What such-and-such do you use?” or “Where’d you get that?” or “What would you recommend?” So now many of our household favorites can be found together – in one place – in our Amazon store. Everything from children’s books to the best bib ever to software and computer accessories, butter bell, cameras, the round brush I use, and yes — even spray paint. All stuff that we personally use in our home. I will add to the list from time to time. Note: You’ll see several categories to the right of our Amazon store. More than just the initial window of items listed. Happy Browsing!

FREE STUFF. This is the place where you’ll find some fun things to download. You may recognize a few familiar items from my blog’s history. Now they’re all in one place. And I’ll be adding more. You’re welcome to have/use/share however you’d like (except for a profit, silly). If you think your friends would be interested in any of it, send ‘em over.

PERSONAL YEARBOOK. This is the big feature to point out in the Free Stuff section. Check it out. A very A+ project to do with your kiddos in school.

By the way — I don’t think I ever showed you where my Doors of Tallinn print (also in the Free Stuff section) ended up in our home office. Adds a nice little splash of color in that lineup of B&W prints above the counter.

Beloved readers, I hope you enjoy coming here. I’m open to feedback. Have something you’d like to see?

Thanks for stopping by.

Project Life is back in stock!

project life update & my favorite things

Friday, July 9th, 2010

Happy Weekend!

[ thank you ] so much for all the happy, thankful, warm messages regarding the Doors of Tallinn collection. I’m so pleased that some of you can actually use that. It’s neat to hear that some of you are printing & framing it as a gift also.

[ interview ] Kari over at Ucreate asked to do a little interview with me recently. If you’re interested in a quick read, you can find that article here.

[ a few of my faves ] You can view some of my favorite household products by going here – Becky’s Picks on Amazon.com. Be sure to notice the categories to the right. I finally found the perfect mousepad – in Finland, of all places. It’s marimekko, which I love, and really thin, which I love even more. I’m picky about that. Anyway, they have the marimekko mousepad on amazon, so that’s in my collection of favorites.

You’ll find various things we use & love in our home — cameras, computer, label maker, the best gadget for going paperless in your home office, those cool canisters in our pantry, my favorite scrapbook albums, baby must-haves and yes — oh yes — even spray paint. This is a start and I’ll more things.

[project life update] More kits have been made and we’re just about ready to release those on amazon.com. I will let you know as soon as they’re available — here on my blog and on twitter and facebook. So if you have that friend who thinks “Good for you that you scrapbook, but I don’t have the time or money or creativity” — this is an excellent way to help her do something with her pictures without having to invest the time, money, and creativity that tends to be scrapbooking’s reputation.

Or maybe … you’re that friend and you need Project Life?

Let’s have fun today. Who wants a Project Life kit for FREE? Leave your first name, city, and state (U.S. shipping address only) and I’ll announce a lucky winner on Monday.

PS – Yes, a school kit is still in the works and Yes, I’ll be releasing a newly designed (same kit, new graphics) Project Life kit later this year … in time for Christmas. The one that is about to re-released is the original Project Life kit and this will be the last chance to get this year’s design.

things to know today.

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Hello, Friday. And hello to all you fine people. I had an awesomely creative day yesterday. Didn’t even sit down at the computer until 11:00 pm. Spent time with a couple of my besties and hung out with my family and I put together something beautiful for our home. Here’s a hint.

I’d show you the whole thing but then I’d have to kill you. Actually, it’s the perfectionist in me. I have just a teeny bit of tweaking to do before it’s just right. And then I’ll share the full arrangement. : )

Now on to a few items of business:

[ SOLD OUT ]

As of this morning, Project Life is officially SOLD OUT on Amazon! This leads me to make 2 important comments:

1. YES, we are printing more Project Life kits. Yes, yes, and yes. I will be sure to let you know as soon as we have an approximate availability date.

2. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. This is so much more than a business for me. It didn’t even start that way. This is a passion. A passion for organizing pictures and stories and memories into a anyone-can-do-this format with beautiful results. And because so many of you get that about Project Life … you have shared the concept with friends and family. And so I thank you for being an essential part of our Project Life community.

[ LIKE FONTS? ]

I’m pleased to tell you that in the digital version of Project Life we have now added two of my fonts to the collection. CK Jot is my everyday handwriting (legible enough for the journaling) and CK Becky is my script — a looser cursive (fun for titles). So if you already have an account, you’ll notice these in your font options now.

If you haven’t played around with the digital Project Life, IT’S SUPER EASY. And totally free to get in there and start building a book. No obligation to buy anything if you don’t want. Check it out HERE, watch the short instructional video, and get in there and play!

PS – The “CK” part of those font names is because I created the fonts back in the day … at CK. During my 12 years at Creating Keepsakes magazine, one of my little things was that I created dozens of fonts. These two fonts integrate particularly well with Project Life.

[ YOUR QUESTIONS ]

Referring to the post right before this one … you guys are awesome. Some really great questions in the the mix. Some are just so funny, some are rather deep, and some are for sure not answer-able in 3 words or less! I will be posting many of those answers in the coming days. You’re still welcome to add a question to those comments here, if you want.

Wishing you an awesome weekend.
