5 of my favorite fonts right now

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

ScrapNFonts has some new fonts that I’ve been enjoying lately. In fact, I chose my five favorites and they bundled them up and put them on sale for just $10 for all five. You can go here for that deal.

You might recognize that I used one of the flowers from DB Floral Infusion as well as the SNF Goody font for Kylie’s birthday invite here.

Also, Brian Tippetts did a short & sweet interview with me and that’s also up on their site. For a quick read, click here.

And … you have to check out what Britta did! Using the digital Project Life and incorporating ScrapNFonts’ fonts & DoodleBats, she is creating an darling, custom Project Life book for her family. Check it out here.

3 words or less: part 3

Friday, March 26th, 2010

First, you guys are killing us … me and Kara Layne. How on earth are we going to choose a winner for the photo shoot? I will say this: Kara Layne says let’s get rid of that rule about having a maximum of 5 people! We don’t want to eliminate a family from the running because they have an extra person or two.

We will announce a winner on Monday.

Now … This is my 3rd edition of answering your questions (your completely-random-all-over-the-place questions). As in the first two installments (this post and this post), I have to answer in 3 words or less.

———

Q: What’s a big pet peeve for you?
A: Mail piles.

Q: Is it possible to make a living as a scrapbook designer? It is my dream.
A: Dreams are possible.

What’s your favorite color combo?
Q: Today it’s this.

Q: What was the website that you wrote about in your February 5 post that was your “favorite online find of the week?”
A: Organizational Tutorials.

A: Mac + cheap gloss.

Q: What is your favorite girl scout cookie?
A: Thin Mints.

A: Probably New Zealand.

A: They don’t know.

Q: What book are you reading right now?
A: Honestly … nothing lately. : (

Q: Can you please tell me the font you used for the school download pages. I wanted to add a few pages to my son’s book and I wanted the fonts to match. Thanks!
A: Century Gothic.

Q: What is your favorite way to re-energize?
A: Home decorating.

Q: On average about how many pictures do you take a month?
A: Roughly 200.

Q: Is there any chance you will have a school kit available by August? (Please?!?)
A: Probably shortly after.

A: German/Swiss Alps.

Q: What Camera Bag do you use for your DSLR?
A: Little & big.

Q: What is your exercise program?
A: Struggling with that.

Q: Where can we find cute rubber/latex gloves?? (for washing dishes and such)
A: These are fun.

Q: Is it too late to start Project Life now? I keep draggin my feet thinking it would be impossible to do because I’d want to go back and try to recreate the first couple months of the year.
A: No! Absolutely NOT.

Q: How do you get your kids to clean up after themselves?
A: “Power clean-up everybody!”

Q: What do you like to do with each of your kids for one on one time.
A: Read, art, snuggle.

Q: Do you like reality tv?
A: Nah.

Q: Fave kind of jewelry, braclets, necklace, earrings, rings?
A: Chunky costume jewelry.

Q: What do you do to balance your family time, work time and hobby time?
A: Schedule it all.

Q: So I came across an old article from Creating Keepsakes – “What’s in your purse?”. At the time your “purse” was a Franklin Covey Planner. Where are you today? Purse or planner?
A: Purse! I’ve evolved!

give-away monday

Monday, March 15th, 2010

So delighted to start off the week with an awesome give-away. Check this out.

It’s a camera bag/purse hybrid for ladies who would like to carry their dSLRs with them on a day-to-day basis, or keep their camera discreet while traveling. Um, hello. Sign me up. I’ve been using mine for about a week and it’s so perfect for my everyday on-the-go needs. I love that I can adjust the compartments (I’m such a compartmentalizer) to work for all my stuff.

Click here for the Jo Totes website.

So … you want one, don’t you? Most of you know the drill for entering yourself in a random drawing on my blog. Leave your first name, city, and state in the Comments. We will choose someone at random. The winner will get a bag of her color choice.

And here is something that everyone can get for free today:

Simply click on the gray “free CK Becky font” button on the right side of this blog. Or just CLICK HERE. You’ll see my two fonts and a couple other fun ones too. Just click on the font and it will automatically download on your computer. Simple.

May your Monday be a terrific day. I will be posting every day this week, so see you again soon.

things to know today.

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Hello, Friday. And hello to all you fine people. I had an awesomely creative day yesterday. Didn’t even sit down at the computer until 11:00 pm. Spent time with a couple of my besties and hung out with my family and I put together something beautiful for our home. Here’s a hint.

I’d show you the whole thing but then I’d have to kill you. Actually, it’s the perfectionist in me. I have just a teeny bit of tweaking to do before it’s just right. And then I’ll share the full arrangement. : )

Now on to a few items of business:

[ SOLD OUT ]

As of this morning, Project Life is officially SOLD OUT on Amazon! This leads me to make 2 important comments:

1. YES, we are printing more Project Life kits. Yes, yes, and yes. I will be sure to let you know as soon as we have an approximate availability date.

2. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. This is so much more than a business for me. It didn’t even start that way. This is a passion. A passion for organizing pictures and stories and memories into a anyone-can-do-this format with beautiful results. And because so many of you get that about Project Life … you have shared the concept with friends and family. And so I thank you for being an essential part of our Project Life community.

[ LIKE FONTS? ]

I’m pleased to tell you that in the digital version of Project Life we have now added two of my fonts to the collection. CK Jot is my everyday handwriting (legible enough for the journaling) and CK Becky is my script — a looser cursive (fun for titles). So if you already have an account, you’ll notice these in your font options now.

If you haven’t played around with the digital Project Life, IT’S SUPER EASY. And totally free to get in there and start building a book. No obligation to buy anything if you don’t want. Check it out HERE, watch the short instructional video, and get in there and play!

PS – The “CK” part of those font names is because I created the fonts back in the day … at CK. During my 12 years at Creating Keepsakes magazine, one of my little things was that I created dozens of fonts. These two fonts integrate particularly well with Project Life.

[ YOUR QUESTIONS ]

Referring to the post right before this one … you guys are awesome. Some really great questions in the the mix. Some are just so funny, some are rather deep, and some are for sure not answer-able in 3 words or less! I will be posting many of those answers in the coming days. You’re still welcome to add a question to those comments here, if you want.

Wishing you an awesome weekend.
