Thursday, October 4th, 2012

Party people! It’s Thursday! Today is extra special for a few reasons. It’s Day 1 of my Project Real Life class. Totally did not to expect to wake up with butterflies in my stomach. What the heck? And holy kindness from so many of you! Thank you for the comments I see floating around on facebook, twitter, and instagram about what you think so far. I’m so grateful that you feel good about your decision to sign up. Anyone else still interested can still totally register HERE. We haven’t closed that door yet.

But there is so much else going on today. We want to celebrate our 3rd birthday with a gift for YOU! And not just a few select winners. We want ALL of you to enjoy a little something from our team.

{ life quote cards }

You’ll notice that we have a shiny new featured freebie on the Free Stuff page; it’s the first thing you see on that page. Our amazing designers have pulled together a collection of Project Life cards that you can print at home – or you can have outsourced with your favorite printer (our favorite is Persnickety Prints) – and place the card in your Project Life album … or use it as part of a gift tag … or stick it on the fridge … or pass it along to a friend or …

The designers of these cards are from our Creative Team, our pool of product designers, and even our own marketing director (and resident techie guru) – Kari Holt. There are several designs to choose from, a variety of generic/life quotes, and they’re all available in both vertical and horizontal format, as well as 3×4 and 4×6 sizes. Take your pick, or grab them all! They’re free. They’re fun. They’re yours.

{ more chances to win cool stuff }

Speaking of the awesome-sauce Creative Team … the birthday celebration continues with more, more, more! You guys KNOW how much I love our Creative Team – collectively and individually. I love them. These are not folks I contacted and said, “Will you please use my products and share them with your readers?” No. It didn’t work that way. They already loved and used Project Life. They already had a passion for documenting life. They have a knack for solid photography, and a unique style – each with her own flavor.

Right now, each member of our Creative Team has a brand-new blog post that features thoughts & tips that you’ll enjoy. Plus – they each share a couple of their favorite add-on products. AND … we are giving those products away! Do you know what this means? Each of the 13 blogs will have a different giveaway opportunity! That’s crazy fun! So be sure to check out each one.

{ 3 random testimonials }

I used to be a traditional scrapbooker. Over the years I spent so much money on all the fun papers and embellishments that I ended up in terrible debt. This year, I finally faced my debt head-on. Starting January 1st, I decided not to buy any unnecessary items for an entire year. I called it my “Stopping Spree.” Of course I ordered my Project Life in December, so I could continue documenting my memories all year. I just feel that Project Life is such an economical way to preserve everyday life! -Kate

It’s been said that pictures are worth a thousand words. Then how much is a picture with words worth? In my opinion, it’s worth every minute that you spend putting it all together, because for every minute you spend making a scrapbook, you get the rest of your life and your kids’ lives to enjoy it. Project Life makes it all so easy, so clean and fast, and so fun. -Kathrine

Today I celebrated my grandmother’s 96th birthday with my family. NINETY SIX. It was such a special day for my family. My grandma was SO happy, and really looked like she was on top of the world this afternoon. When I got home, I grabbed a journaling card and wrote down how special today was, and how I will never forget the look of my Grandma’s face when we were all singing ‘happy birthday’ to her. She was BEAMING. I was so thankful to have an outlet for that memory. It makes me so happy I could cry to have that down on paper. Thanks again for all the wonderful work that you guys do. I already know that I am going to cherish my 2012 album forever. -Molly

don’t throw a fit.

Monday, February 21st, 2011

You get what you get and you don’t throw a fit.

I don’t remember when I started saying this but probably around the time our kids were old enough to be picky about what food we were serving at the dinner table. And I certainly know I’m not alone in this expression. Raise your hand if those words have escaped your mouth.

It’s not just about food though.

Sometimes life just doesn’t feel fair. Sometimes we’re dealt stuff that makes us feel like complaining and bickering. The thing is — life is made up of this stuff. It’s unavoidable. And we either complain about it or we make the most of a tough situation. We can choose to think long & hard about what lessons we are to learn from the experience. And then we can be better for it. But we have to choose that. We have to choose to not “have a fit”.

This is part of cultivating a good life.

So here is the friendly yet bold reminder, in a printable JPG format … 3 colors to choose from in various sizes. Just head over to the Free Stuff page to download whatever you want.

Put this in your kitchen area to remind your kids to not be picky. Have it on your desk as a reminder to keep on keepin’ on, even when you’re not loving the next item on your to-do list. Wherever you use the print, may it be a simple reminder to keep your chin up, try new things, and have a positive attitude about it all.

By the way, have you noticed the color change on my website? If not, refresh. Valentines is over so the red went buh-bye and we’re moving on to a fresh coat of paint around here.
