we’re getting close.

Saturday, July 14th, 2012

It feels as though all our products are in some giant room, filled to the brim with new items, re-stocked items … everything we’ve been itching to finally have available. Today I feel like I’m cracking open the door just enough for some light to come through. But we can’t quite get in yet. We. are. so. close. But it’s not up to me when we’ll be able to push that door wide open and let everyone run in (no pushing, please).

We are now at the mercy of our local packout facility. They’re the final step of production on our Core Kits – and other paper-based products – before delivery to Amazon and our international distributors. They are working hard + fast, while maintaining very precise quality control. And of course we’re at the mercy of Amazon. It is they who tell us when they squeeze us into their schedule of accepting deliveries.

So while we all sit outside the door, waiting for it to fly open … let me just show you a few more pictures of what’s showing up next – whether it happens sometime this week (crossing our fingers + toes for that) or shortly after.

As a refresher … here’s a short video of the new plastics:

And some stills …

…..

As for the Project Life Core Kits coming back in stock … they are new + improved. Same designs. Same system. Same memory-keeping awesomeness. Even the same impressively low price. But we have improved the printed quality, added a serious upgrade on the packaging, and the cards now offer far more versatility. The 4×6 title cards are now double-sided with one side being the horizontal option (same as before) + the other side being the vertical option (hello, options!). Every 3×4 journaling card is now backed with a filler design so that no card is wasted. The actual card sizes have even been fine-tuned where needed.

Most of you are very familiar with Project Life, and you’re using it for your main memory-keeping system. Even if you haven’t been on-board yet, many others of you have been keeping your eye on a specific edition – waiting for it to become available. But for those of you who are brand-new to all of this, be sure to check out our Products section to see everything, and each of the editions.

And … here is a little sampling of what each edition “feels” like with just a handful of the 600+ cards that come in each Core Kit.

Want to see specifics of MORE cards from a specific edition? They’re all in digital format on JessicaSprague.com.

…..

Are you thinking it’d be a good idea to stalk Amazon this week?

Please spend your time on much more worthy hobbies. I am very good with updates, behind-the-scenes happenings, etc. so if you are following me on either facebook, twitter, or instagram – I promise you will be completely in-the-know and as products start showing up, you’ll be the first to hear.

…..

{ one more note on what’s coming }

Regarding the Grid Cards, White Cards, and all those little boxes of Bazzill cardstock (ALL mentioned items are going to be available in both 3×4 and 4×6 size and they ALL have rounded corners like all Project Life cards) … these may be a couple weeks behind the Core Kits. As always, I’ll keep you posted.

Q: Great rug! Which one is it and what size did you get?

A: I shared this snapshot (on facebook / twitter / instagram) of a new rug adorning a corner in our kitchen. HERE is the link on Grandinroad.com and I got the 5-ft size.

…..

Q: Are the holes on the new 8×10 and the 8.5×11 Page Protectors spaced to fit in a 12×12 binder or are they intended for an 8.5×11 binder?

A: Both! Standard 3-ring binders have the same spacing between rings in both 8.5×11 binders and 12×12 binders. We expect these new items (along with the 5×7 Page Protectors + 3 new Photo Pocket Page designs + Small Envelope Pages + Tall Envelope Pages + Core Kits) to be in stock soon – hopefully by the end of next week. Watch this short video overview of the new “plastics” coming out.

…..

Q: I was just wondering how you get such great pictures from your iPhone 4S. Mine always have a warning when printing them at Costco and are very grainy. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

A: When you upload (to Costco or anywhere), don’t upload at a faster speed. From what I understand, this lowers the resolution. Be sure you’re uploading full-size images. That could be the issue.

…..

Q: I saw on your recent post that the baby and childhood editions will be available in October – does that include a school version?

A: Our childhood product are all-encompassing for a child’s memories. This includes school, social life, family, hobbies … everything in a child’s life. When I share more detail sometime next month and actually give you a visual, it’ll all make more sense. A lot of thought and a lot of revisions went into these products. And it just didn’t make as much sense to separate “school” from everything else going on in a child’s life.

…..

Q: In what stage of the process are the school/childhood products? Is that a future project that hasn’t been started yet or is it “in the works?”

A: They are being sampled and printed and just about in full-blown production right now. We’re aiming to have our childhood products available in October.

…..

Q: When you release the “new” editions, will you still sell the old versions, or will they retire?

A: We will continue to offer several editions at any given time (they’re almost back in stock again – yay!) so when the two new 2013 editions are released in November, you will still be able to pick up any of the other editions. We will only retire editions when they’re just not selling anymore. That’s the plan.

…..

Q: Are the new Core Kits going to have more horizontal journaling cards? And does that mean all journaling cards have designs; no more blank grids included?

A: Yes. Speaking of revisions … you will find that the new Core Kits have much more flexibility with horizontal + vertical journaling cards. And the back of every single journaling card is a gorgeous and versatile filler design for those spots where you don’t want or need to write anything. Every single card is beautifully designed to be compatible to everything else in the kit. There are no longer “plain” grid cards in a Core Kit. Those are sold separately in a box of 100 if you’re interested. Those are coming by the end of this month, along with the plain White Cards.

…..

Q: I have a random question. You posted at one time about a hairbrush that worked great on your daughter’s hair. I am desperate for a brush that will get through my daughter’s hair with minimal drama! Can you tell me which brush you purchased? I think you got it on Amazon??

A: Yep, this brush is a total GEM for anyone who has difficult hair to brush – or a sensitive scalp – like our Claire. It’s called the Wet Brush, but I call it the Magic Brush because it seriously is that good.

Debbie writes: I found my stack of wedding/honeymoon photos this weekend. We were married over 6 years ago and still have no album because I’m a terrible scrapbooker. Well … I’m sitting down with my Project Life pages, and popping them in! We might actually have a wedding album. Thank you! This has been weighing on me for 6 years! I’m so excited. OK. Less typing … more popping photos into pages!

Tonye writes: Can I just mention the love I have for the Core Kits? It would probably be considered unhealthy to love the Core Kits this much. Oh my Gosh!! I love writing again. Thank you for making it easy!!

…..

Shannon writes: This is my first time doing Project Life digitally and I am loving doing it through Shutterfly! I changed all of my pages to Design A and it is so easy to stay up-to-date by adding a photo and journaling every night! Love, love, love it!

…..

Lise writes: Becky, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I LOVE memory keeping now. It’s not a chore anymore, not another item on my “to do” list that I keep putting off. I’m taking more photos than ever before, of things I wouldn’t have thought to take a photo of before, because I wouldn’t have thought it “important” enough to put in a photo book.

Happy Shopping!

Did I say 11 new products? I meant 13.

Wednesday, April 18th, 2012

On Monday I shared a short video review of 11 new products that are coming this July. Thank you, thank you so much for your enthusiasm and support. We’re so excited that you’re excited!

I love when you speak up. I love when you tell us what you want. In case you haven’t caught onto that aspect of our brand and how we run our company … we don’t just say “we value your feedback”. We actually do value what you have to say, and that is reflected in the products we’re making.

The moment we realized you guys not only want these new plastics, but you also want the option to purchase Variety Packs … we thought, ABSOLUTELY. So friends, I’m pleased to tell you that we’re adding 2 Variety Packs to the shipment of plastics coming in July. They will be 12-packs and packaged just like all our 12-packs.

Just to be clear, these are the 13 new plastic items in the making right now:

…..

{ pre-orders }

U.S. customers: Pre-ordering is not available because Amazon simply doesn’t offer that as an option.

International customers: Pre-orders will become available very soon. Check with your local distributor. Don’t know where to purchase our products? That’s what our SHOP BY COUNTRY page is for.

…..

{ plastic re-stock }

Speaking of our ever-growing plastics family, the items that have been sold out are very close to becoming available again. If you live outside the U.S., check with our international distributors on what kind of timing you can expect.

If you live in the U.S., you know that Amazon is the exclusive place to find our products. We still expect to see the re-stocking of inventory show up to Amazon by the end of April (sometime in the next couple weeks) but the exact date is not up to us. As soon as we hear from Amazon when they will accept our shipment, I will let you know.

These are the items that are part of this next big shipment to show up:

Photo Pocket Pages – Big Pack of Design A (box of 60)
Photo Pocket Pages – Big Variety Pack 1 (box of 60)
Photo Pocket Pages – Big Variety Pack 2 (box of 60)
Photo Pocket Pages – Design A (12-pack)
Photo Pocket Pages – Design B (12-pack)

Photo Pocket Pages – Design F (12-pack)
Photo Pocket Pages – Design G (12-pack)
6×12 Page Protectors (12-pack)
12×12 Page Protectors (12-pack)

As always, you can see everything on our PRODUCTS page. All products are nicely organized so you can easily find what you’re looking for. We’ll add the 13 new items very soon.

{ new product reveal in video format }

Let’s get to the part that will make the rest of you happy.  : )

I am pleased to present to you a first look at the next 11 plastic items coming from Becky Higgins LLC:

These are due to arrive July 2012.

It’s just a few short months away that these new pages will be in your hands. Like you, I have big plans to put these to good use and I can’t for the big arrival. The video includes answers to most questions you may have but certainly feel free to ask any other questions in the comments.

By the way, the development of these new items has not caused the delay of our Core Kit reprint or the development of our childhood products. I’ll have an update on all of that in the next couple weeks.

In the meantime, we’re still on-track to receive the re-stock of all our other, existing plastics by the end of this month. That’s only a couple weeks away. We won’t know the exact date until right before the delivery to Amazon. As always – I’ll keep you posted as we get closer – especially on facebook + twitter, where it’s easier to give quick, anecdotal updates.

All of you Project Lifers who follow what’s going on around here understand everything I’m talking about but I do realize that we have many newbies all the time. Welcome! If you are interested in learning more about this fantastic solution for getting your memories & pictures into a scrapbook without all the time, money, creativity, effort, and “fuss” that traditional scrapbooking usually involves … take a minute to learn about Project Life. It just might change your life.  ; )

restocking products

Thursday, February 16th, 2012

I know we’ve all been very anxious to get some products here. Several items have been sold out but now the wait is just about over. In fact, we expect the shipment to arrive to Amazon tomorrowFriday.

Stuff to keep in mind:

1. It’s a huge shipment. Even if the product shows up first thing in the morning, it takes time to show up in the system and actually become available for purchase. So if the clock is ticking and you don’t see anything show up for hours + hours, please understand that there are tens of thousands of products to scan in and sort and stock and … that’s just our stuff. (We love Amazon so much. Have I mentioned that?) There is no way for us to know exactly when the product will show up in the system. You can keep checking and keep refreshing … or … you can simply wait to hear from me, since I will notify you (via blog/facebook/twitter) when the products are in.

2. The quickest, easiest way for me to send updates is via facebook + twitter. If you feel like you haven’t been getting as much information as you’d like, please know that I do sprinkle in product updates with other fun content on facebook + twitter. All the time.

3. Will we run out again? This is one of the most frequently asked questions right now. The short answer: Hopefully not. The longer answer: We ordered so much inventory, guys. While we think we’ll have enough to last until the next shipment comes, Project Life continues to spread like wildfire. Friends are telling friends and they are telling their friends. There is no way for us to really know how much will sell tomorrow, this weekend, next week, and next month. So we ordered more than we think we’ll need. Remember that I post updates on facebook + twitter. If something looks like it’s going to run out, I try to notify you ahead of time.

The good news in all of this is that even if we do run out of something fairly quickly, we have already placed another huge order so more will be on the way soon.

4. This is what is showing up on Amazon.com this weekend. If you live outside the U.S. please check with our international distributors for information on product availability in your area.

3×4 Grid Journaling Cards (box of 100) – $3.99

Photo Pocket Pages – Big Pack of Design A (60 pages) – $24.99

Photo Pocket Pages – Big Variety Pack 1 (60 pages) – $24.99

Photo Pocket Pages – Big Variety Pack 2 (40 Design A + 20 Design D) – $24.99 *NEW ITEM

Big Pack of 12×12 Page Protectors (60 pages) – $24.99 *NEW ITEM

12×12 Page Protectors (12 pages) – $6.99

6×12 Page Protectors (12 pages) – $5.99

Photo Pocket Pages – Design G (12 pages) – $6.99

Big Envelope Pages (pack of 5) – $9.99

Scrapbook Dividers (pack of 15) – $7.99

5. My best advice as you prepare to shop Project Life this weekend, is to know what you want to purchase. That’s why I shared links and prices, so that you can plan accordingly and have a good idea of what needs to end up in your Amazon shopping cart. Remember: Our Products page has ALL of our products on display at any given time, even the sold-out items that are going to be re-stocked.

new product has arrived!

Friday, October 28th, 2011

I’m going to try to keep this short and sweet because you have a video to watch + some shopping to do!

……….

Item of business #1: You thought I was just announcing that products arrived on Amazon but nooooo. Oh no. We can top our own excitement because we’re finally able to share this other bit of super news.

Project Life designs are coming to you … in DIGITAL pieces! As in, what many of you have been begging us to do for the past couple of years! As in, all of the designs, title cards, filler cards, journling cards, stickers … everything in digital format so that you can create your own stuff with the Project Life flair. As in, all 5 editions that we have done so far! The Original Edition, Amber Edition, Turquoise Edition, Cobalt Edition, and Clementine Edition. Everything! DIGITAL. Go ahead. Jump out of your chair and do the happy dance. I am beyond thrilled to announce this partnership with JessicaSprague.com. More to come on that in the near future.

Oh – and yes, we’ll continue to offer digital Project Life in the form of photo books as well. We’ve been working on exciting improvements and I will fill you in more on that soon as well. We just want to make sure that you’re generally aware of the digital options, in time for you to shop for the physical products .

……….

Item of business #2: The plastics have arrived to Amazon.com just today. The wait is over; let the shopping begin! If you have 9 minutes to spare, here’s a little video to review everything that just showed up along with related, anecdotal information that may be useful to you. Eeeeep! Another happy dance. Let’s do this!

Ready to shop? Go right ahead.

NOTE: As of late Friday night (when I am posting this), the Scrapbook Dividers were the only item not showing up in the system yet. It’s there now!
