swimmer’s hair tip

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Summer = swimming.

Yesterday I posed a simple question on facebook & twitter: I wanted to know if people recommended a good conditioning spray for swimmer’s hair. Claire has been in swimming lessons this week and we’re headed into that season of swimming every day. Plus, her hair is getting long and … holy tangles! It’s not pleasant combing through her fine hair after a swim. I know many of you relate.

As usual, awesome feedback and discussion. (Thanks again, peeps!) Lots of recommended sprays and I’ll likely try one of them, but the thing that stood out to me the most was the recommendation by several moms, to do this: Before getting in the pool, get her hair wet, put in some conditioner, and do not rinse it out. That’s what we tried this morning and oh. my. stars. THANK YOU for the tip!

Combing through her hair after swimming was such a breeze. So even though I think I might be the last mom on the planet to know about this … I know that posting this tip will surely help someone out there who may not know about the trick. Give it a try!
