I was born + raised in a small town in southern Ohio along the Ohio River, on the Kentucky & West Virginia Border. If you've seen the movie "We are Marshall", that's my hometown.
My family now consists of my husband Matt, and My two daughters, Lilykate age 3 1/2 (she will be 4 on new year's eve) and Violet 2 1/2.
The way I use Project Life is sometimes daily but more often as a weekly reflection.
To me, documenting life is isn't just about celebrating the big moments in our lives like birthdays, weddings, etc. To me documenting life is about celebrating the moments in between... the moments that tell the story of our everyday lives.
the happy moments... the ones that makes us smile, giggle, and sometimes laugh so hard we snort or even pee our pants.
the simple moments... the ones that make up our everyday routines, carpools, menu planning, grocery shopping, blogging, and homework with the kids.
the challenging moments... the ones that make us frustrated, mad, and help us grow as individuals.
the sad moments... the ones that rip our hearts into a million pieces, leave a hole in our heart, but allow us to feel compassion for others.
the once in a lifetime moments that you otherwise would have missed because you were waiting for the big moments to happen.
To me documenting life is about capturing & celebrating ordinary daily life with photos and words that often pass by in an instant. I want to cherish everyday as it happens & simply enjoy being in the moment. This is what documenting life is to me.
Three things on my bucket list are:
- Sit on the great wall of china and have my picture taken.
- Be on the Today Show with Ann Curry.
- Own a photo booth in our house - so that when guests come over take their pictures... put it in guestbook... and another way to take daily pictures and add it into our project life book.
Cultivating a good life means seeing the positive in any situation.
