Nisa Fiin

Minnesota

I was born + raised in small town Wisconsin. Moved to St. Paul, MN to go to Art School and have been here ever since.

My family now consists of me, my husband Ben and our 2 boys- Keaton (3.5) and Oliver (1)... and Grandma (my mom) also lives with us. It's pretty rad.

The way I use Project Life is to capture our life a week at a time- big & little stories, photos, funny quotes, little notes, bits of paper and packaging.

To me, documenting life is my concrete proof that "this too shall pass" - the rough spots, the good times, the everyday moments. All of it. The sleepless nights, the diaper laundry, the seemingly endless cold the whole family passes around... the day at the lake, the trip to the cabin, the elusive date nights...the before bedtime boy snuggles, the adorably mispronounced words, the pajama clad chases through the house, the sticky fingers and muddy pants... It all passes. In documenting- I can revisit these moments, and remember to enjoy right now, as it's happening.

Three things on my bucket list are:

  1. put my kiddos through Waldorf school - at least through 8th grade.
  2. live on a small hobby farm with my family... chickens and alpacas, maybe a horse, land + woods for the boys to run around in... yes please.
  3. time travel.

Cultivating a good life means: enjoying right now, focusing on practice + progress over perfection, and being open to all the awesome in the Universe.
