Frequently Asked QuestionsQ: I'm just learning about Project Life. I love the picture-a-day concept, but do I have to start January 1st or it it flexible enough to start at any time?A: The format of Project Life is flexible for anyone to start at anytime and add pictures and journaling as often as you want. You could do a year's worth of pictures based on an anniversary or birthday instead of a calendar year. Some folks are recording their pregnancy with daily pictures and others are basing their year on when school starts. There are so many ways to do it! Q: Is this product specific to 2010?A: Nope! Nothing in the product locks you into 2010. Both versions offer 2010 as well as many other years in case you do want to specify the time period for your specific project. And I DO recommend that you date your project. (There is a date stamp in the scrapbooking kit and month & year clip art in the digital version.) Q: Will Project Life really be an accurate representation of my life?A: This answer comes based on my experience of traditional scrapbooking for many, many years. This approach of taking a picture-a-day has resulted in our family's story is being told so much more accurately and completely than any other scrapbooking I have ever done. (I have 52+ albums FULL of story-telling, memory-keeping scrapbook pages.) Think of how many friends and family members you have that are not doing anything with their pictures. From what you know about Project Life and the flexibility to either do a picture-a-day or a picture-a-week or a few favorite shots each month, or however you want to use it... can you see how Project Life will help people to actually do something with their pictures? That said, Project Life is an option. There are lots of options for memory-preserving, picture-displaying, family history-keeping, and story-telling. I offer Project Life as a possible solution for you. And your friends. Q: So if I'm doing the picture-a-day approach, what on earth am I supposed to be taking pictures of. I don't have much excitement in my life.A: No matter how routine and boring you think your life is, there is so much that you can capture in any given day. The point is that you get a variety of pictures to accurately capture your life right now as it is. (The best part is that you don't have to take them all at once!) Here are some random ideas to get your wheels spinning:
I know some of these seem silly and even boring, but think about it. Think about these seeing pictures of these little details 20 or 40 years ago and what they would have looked like. Things change. This Project Life is your time capsule. It's all important. Nothing's boring. Q: Becky, What about all of your sketches? Are you ditching all of that for digital Project Life concepts? Really?A: Yes... and no. Welcome to my personal evolution. I've been heavily involved in the hobby of picture-taking and memory-keeping since I was a child. And my approach & strategy & theory has evolved over time. It's natural. And I love it. I've loved every stage. This happens to be my current approach to scrapbooking. it's liberating & exciting for not only me, but clearly many of you too. I am so solution-minded these days. It's what I care about. Creating solutions that help you & me both. As for the "no" part of my answer... No, I'm not ditching the sketches. I am so happy that my sketches have helped so many with their scrapbooking over the years. And they've helped me too. And I will continue to refer to my sketches when doing layouts for the kids' baby books and other creative projects. SupportIf you have a product defectEmail customerservice@beckyhiggins.com.
